Stephen looked back at and forth between Karin and Joe, more than a little perplexed. Karma definitely owed him big time. Not only had he saved a girl from bullies, but it appeared that he would be stuck with her AND this random stranger that he had met not half an hour before in the streets - and that wasn't even his fault!
"Y'know, you two are lucky I'm such a sap..." he said with a sigh. "I have enough food, water, and medical supplies for myself, not to mention reiki in a pinch, but since we've got half-pint here and yourself to worry about, I suppose it's best we travel together."
Stephen gave credit to good logic when credit was due.
Karin immediately perked up, now crying tears of happiness, she sort of jumped a bit to get high enough up on the man that she could wrap her arms around his neck in a big hug. Stephen couldn't help but smile and hugged back a little bit. He had mixed feelings about having two people tag along with him on a semi-permanent to permanent basis, but hey, the more the merrier, right? And he WAS that much of a sap in these situations.
It looked like a family of sorts had just been born.

Joe Smith smiled and winked at Stephen, and felt a flood of releif. He had made a small fool of himself, but he seemed to have gained a friend out of it. Two friends, possibly.
As he went to go and sit back down, he turned his head slightly and caught a veiw of a large chipmunk. It looked right at him, and seemed to smile... with black, large, crystal teeth. And then ran off in the other direction.
He looked down into the Ramen, and chewed on his cheek methodically. Stephen was right - his memory would come back in time.. but how much time? He was extremely eager to know the nature of himself, and why his eyes were red and blue. Where he learned everything...
He reached for his cigarettes, but stopped himself. Not with a child around. He chewed his lip furiously for a moment, and then started to suck down the noodles like they were nothing.

Stephen tried to gently move the girl off of him so he too could eat his ramen, but she didn't seem to want to move. He turned slightly to face the ramen, then let go of her (she still clinging adorably) and reached for the bowl and chopsticks. He ever so carefully then began to eat, and for just a moment, he thought he could see a very familiar chipmunk out of the corner of his eye... but seeing as he wasn't equipped properly to fight the thing if it were indeed that, and that he had a 7 year old girl on his lap cuddling him, he decided not to worry about it either way.
When finished, he gingerly sat the bowl down and chopsticks, and decided that he would let Joe keep up his end of the offer and pay for the food - mainly because the girl had fallen asleep where she sat. Stephen smiled a bit, realizing that she had had a heck of a day so far, and that she must be exhausted. He also realize that this probably wouldn't be the last time something like this happened. Oh well. He was her Guardian now. And Joe's, technically, but he could hold his own presumably, and he was double dutying as an extra hand in taking care of the girl. He sighed, and carefully got up from his seat, and headed away from the noodle stand, carrying her ever so carefully.
Life was getting just a bit more interesting.

Chaplain Impact Quin was forced to meander along at a slow plodding pace; but then it didn't bother him much since he had learned a long time ago that he just couldn't go any where fast if he was to walk. Instead of focusing on the length of time he instead chose to with a casual eye observe his guide. The information he would take in was rather boring and Quin didn't ask any questions less his works give him away to what he did. Eventually though Quin would be at the tavern, though with little more knowledge of his guide at the end of the journey then he had at the start. So in a way he had to give some respects to Ra'kar for having such implacable servants. "This is just a stop gap I suppose." Tandrae didn't say anything in response instead he stood in the doorframe, shadowing the entrance until he caught the eye of the barkeep who's own gaze narrowed on the pair. A subtle nod and he turned back to wiping down the counter as if he hadn't noticed them.
The Fyre slave would lead Quin silently upstairs. Instead of heading down the hall to one of the rooms one would normally rent, he ushered him up another flight of stairs to a loft apartment.
Opening large double doors, he would extend his arm as if to guide Quin inside with a sweeping gesture that clearly said 'enter.'
The room was dimly lit, the only light coming from the many candles lit around the room. It would take Quin's eyes a moment to adjust, but once they had, he would be able to see---
She was seated on a dais on the other side of the room. Striking gold eyes pierced the darkness and bore into him as lush, crimson lips quirked into a smile. ==============
Tei Kae Tellus looked at the dress, and then back to Aesteas. But instead of her typical 'I can't wear that!', she simply nodded, and proceeded to strip down, peeling the jeans back off as well as the top. There really was no point in arguing with the woman, or with Ra'kar who would surely know her sins.
"As my mistress bids..."as padded naked across the room to pick up the dress. She'd long gotten used to the siblings, even if they did sometimes throw her off. She'd let the Fyre woman dress her as she was supposed to, mindlessly obeying the woman's words to lift her arms or move this way or that. Once that was done, she'd simply wait for any last minute adjustments and then await her next order. Aesteas would adjust the dress in all the right places, making sure it sat on Tell's figure perfectly, hugging all the right curves to best compliment her figure.
Opening a small chest which had seemingly appeared as if from nowhere... she took out various kinds of brushes, and several jeweled ornaments.
Ra'kar had sent Tellus HER handmaiden to prepare her for her audience. The message clearly said that anything less than aesthetic perfection would be unacceptable on this occasion. Ra'kar was known for her lavish tastes, but never before had she been so demanding about her Synmalthin's appearance when the audience was with her alone. Was there a guest she was unaware of? Someone to impress? Or was the demoness merely trying to polish something that had lost it's shine in her eyes?
Aesteas styled the smaller woman's hair elaborately, working silver chains through the braids before fastening the jewels in place. Gems that were every shade of blue and green to match Tell's hair and eyes.
Finished with the hair, the fyre slave turned to make-up, wordlessly painting her features until an exotic princess who seemed about as alive as a doll stared back in the mirror.

And Tellus said or did nothing, allowing herself to be directed as the handmaiden directed. As she looked into the mirror, she saw nothing, and absolute void directed back. It was a doll, a pretty one, one valuable beyond compare, but a doll none the less, and more so as each moment passed.
She didn't think of a guest, or of even Ra'kar. She was, instead, slipping back into the mindset of a tool. She'd been one before, and it was nothing new. Even her ...indiscretion with Quin...was far from her mind. The bruises and such remained, but unless she was stripped down, they would remain mostly unseen.
Once all was done, she was still silent, a definite change from the weeping child of just before her shower. There was an utter stillness about her that was so uncommon in a female so accustomed to movement and energy. It was as if she was a void unto herself.

A short trip had seemed like an eternity; but finally he was standing before the individual he had sought out. Were he given time to reflect upon his methods he would think them brash and without much class, another sin to add to his many.
Standing as he did he leaned quite heavily upon his cane, he was always quick to give the impression of weakness.
With a slow ambling gate he crossed from the door way tell he was only a few yards away from the raised dais. All in all the display do little to awe him; but he did have to conceal his amusement at the situation. He was more then willing to break out in laughter at the absurdity of the situation.
Quin hid it behind a polite smile as his face softened for a moment, then with a short bow of his head his features hardened into a grin.
"Good evening Ra'kar. It has been some time."

She watched him amble over to her through eyes veiled with thick, lacy black lashes. She rested her chin in her hand as she smiled down at him, flashing dainty fangs.
"Indeed it has Marquis, indeed it has."
She flicked some imaginary piece of dirt from manicured nails, inspecting them casually rather than look at him now. As if she'd seen what she needed to.
Her casual demeanor carried over to her tone as she spoke.
"Yet not so long as for me to forget the strength in that body despite your---"
She glanced at him now, letting her eyes roam down his form until settling on his leg.
"---handicaps"
Her gaze rose to meet his once more.
"Have you really become so weakened and crippled since we last met that you rely so heavily upon a simple stick?"

Inwardly he cringed, as she reminded him that once the cane wasn't absolutely required. Outwardly he gave a slight shrug and with a roll of his shoulders looked about himself.
"I find myself under considerable more pressure then last time."
Reaching into a pocket he pulled out a cigarette and stuck it between his lips before reaching back in for a lighter. When he managed to get it going he breathed in the fumes.
"The gravity of my situation weighs heavily on my human form."
Idly his hands snapped and closed the lighter.

She waved her hand dismissively as if she were sending him away, but instead of bidding him to leave, the tip of his cigarette would blaze brightly for a moment, before his hands even touched the lighter. She didn't know many people who smoked... there had been a devil... and the human who called himself devil. The addiction amused her. Was he too, Dependant on this?
"Yes it must be very serious..."
She narrowed her eyes at him as she crossed one leg over her knee and let her slitted skirts part to reveal milky thigh. Black markings etched over that flawless flash, like shadows playing against moonlight.
"... to so boldly endanger yourself further."
She leaned back in her chair as she made a come hither gesture. Waiting for him to reach her, she would reach a hand up and caress his cheek, pulling him down into a rough yet passionate kiss, grabbing a fist full of his hair, she would jerk him sharply downwards, forcing him to his knees. She would lean forward, pulling on his hair so that he was staring up at her.
"Did you enjoy her? My pet?"

The thrill of it all sent a shiver down his spine and he nearly cooed with the distinct pleasure of potential harm. It was not Ra'kar herself that was arousing but the complication she presented him. The challenge to dominate her.
Even after the kiss and being forced to his knees, damn weak things, he could do naught but grin up at her. Her words danced in his head and he had to bite back the urge to laugh right in her face.
"Not especially; but I knew there was something greater waiting for me after the little venture."
Quin wondered what Ra'kar would look like dead as he spoke, her eyes glazed over, muscles relaxing and stiffening at the different stages of decay. The body become puffy and bloated as the gasses within sought their escape. All that was left in his mind was on exactly how to kill her.
That was something he would do with time though. For now she could hold the semblance of domination. He would bend; but not break.

"Ummm..." Melinda muttered to herself, biting her lip. She looked down to the hastily scribbled-on piece of paper in her pale hand, up to the doorway of the apartment that stood before her, then back to the paper.
"I think this is the right address. Would the sister of that Ms. Isohos really live in a place like this though?" she wondered aloud. Coming up the hallway that she had arrived from moments before were two of her sisters; one with locks of raven black hair, the other with streams of gold that seemed to shimmer in the sunlight, even though there was none from this angle.

"Don't be so hard on yourself, lil'est sis! You did fine!" Cybil told Melinda, approaching her and putting a reassuring hand on her shoulder. "As long as we've found her, that's what important! If this is really the girl we were looking for, then this is a successful mission, and you should be proud of your accomplishment."
Tossing her hair and looking over her shoulder, Cybil called out to the third sister. "Isn't that right, Zandra?" And she smiled cutely, to emphasize the point.

The third sister stood there, looking through half-opened eyes at the other two. Or perhaps, passed them?
She seemed less than thrilled about... something. Maybe the fact that she was here? She wasn't hostile, just... bored. Unenthusiastic.
"Sure, if you say so." she said plainly, before walking past the other two, locking her hand into a fist, and...
Rapped on the door several times. Not loudly, not softly, just... average.

"Who's there?"
It was the voice of a young woman, calling out from behind the door. The voice resembled Owle's, just slightly higher in pitch. One yellow eye appeared in the peephole, peering out at the visitors.

"Guests." came Zandra's response to the question. She took a step back from the door, gesturing towards herself and her two sisters.
Then shrugged.
