The white scars, for 2 reasons:
1. they are a fun list to play, i use the stores white scars army at my college breaks at the local GW there, and the ability to out-flank pretty much everything, with almost the whole army gives a really good tactical advantage over most other armies
2. dark angels are cool, and the models are cool, but since almost everyone i play against has them, they have become almost as bad as the ultrasmurfs (hell, i actually enjoy playing against smurfs again for the change!) whereas i besides the local GW army (played by me whenever i can get it) i dont know anyone else who plays the white scars, so they are a rare and unique force

This actually got me thinking that a Speed Freaks list vs. a White scars list would be a rather dynamic and fun battle to watch.

Oh yea, or maybe Ravenwing Vs Eldar Jetbikes....
Fun.

one problem with that jase... they are dark angels, therefore the match wouldnt be fun, it would be the same as any other boring D.Angels match, just a little faster, lol

in case anyone hasn't noticed, i have developed a "thing" against dark angels.

I'm not a big fan of them.
My friend has tons of plasma in his army.
Ends up killing himself more than I hurt him biggrin

Back when I was playing guard, I never, ever took plasma. I know it's the "uber beakie" killer and whatnot, and super good by many players' standards, but I don't trust those dice, not at all. My belief was only reinforced when one of my opponents had every single plasma weapon in his army overheat and kill the model wielding it (including his chaos lord. The poor fool and his plasma pistol) on the same turn.

i think plasma weapons are dangerous, but cool. i use a few of them myself because even though i tend to kill myself with them too, i don't care. it gives us a laugh, so i don't mind. i play for fun, not for winning (unless it is a scenario/kill team/etc)

a good example of my only playing for fun:
turn 1,
i had my chaplain throw a vortex grenade, it landed where i wanted it to, and killed a handful of men we didn't have the the template however, so we were just remembering where it was, rather than showing it)

turn 2,
i deep striked in my unit of termies, they landed directly (whooo!)... right where the vortex grenade was... (i had killed the whole squad last turn, so it was safe to DS there... except i had forgotten about the template)

(note, i changed the units above to fit this Space Marines topic, a they were actually chaos marines, so my "chaplain" was a sorcerer, and the "Termies" were a Termy Lord and Chaos Termy Unit. so it is even worse, as i dropped an HQ straight down into the warp)

No doubt about it, plasma weapons are dangerous. If you're a marine player, just go for the meltagun. Now that dreads can once again have plasma cannons, do that, but don't give them to devvies or anyone else on the ground. I had horrible luck with my plasma weapons. My overpowered marine squads would get an overheat every turn.

But for guard, I load up on plasma. They're guardsmen, like I give a damn when someone's arms turn to ash in squad three. They're there to take my troops slots. I might as well make them do some damage. Now the Demolishers with plasma sponsons, they never overheat.

I have made my own Devastator called Brother-Marine Dave of the Ultramarines 2nd squad, 9th company.
He wields a plasma cannon, and has never once over heated, like wise, he has destroyed many men, and in the last dozen battles, he has survived them all!
You cant give the sergeant a heavy wep can you?

Technically, you can, but with him having better stats for melee and the Signum, why give him one anyway?
I could maybe see it if you could make squads for just four models, but otherwise, why would you want to give him one?

well.... i got the first of my new drop pods built. before you ask i have no pics of the assembly being done *dodges rotten tomato*

I just wanted to write up a little something about it.

bad points first: gripes are very minor (to me). on the doors to the drop pods you have the option of sticking on a chapter marking or and imperial eagle. as there is not enough to cover all the doors so you have to make up a pattern so that every second door has the eagle and the rest have a chapter marking etc. so its= *marking -bird- marking- bird*
trouble is ther's an odd number of doors so you have to have =
*bird- marking-bird-marking-marking* this is not a big deal for me. but it may annoy some. it was also a fiddle kit to assemble compared to other plastic kits but again not too bad.

for the good points: it looks amazing! fully detailed interior (of course). plenty of outer detail and working doors. its weapon options include a storm bolter or a missile launcher. i opted for the bolter. all in all a stunning model. i have another one to build yet I'll try and get some pics of it up at some point.

I recently bought MoC, I had a game straight after building them, used the one with Powerfist, power sword as my commander.
Then I used the rest as Vanguard.
