Graceangel what is that 6 years of distance experience? Is that like an internship but like... out of the country or something? Well, i was looking into it more. Would seem schools offering those degrees are somewhat less. Now, i was thinking. i do have a number of credits from marygrove. but seeing as how I owe them like... some money; they are likely to not want to release my transcripts... so it'd be like never having gone to college. another concern for me in thinking about this is how i'll be able to meet my bills and go to school and aid my son in his struggles with certain issues with his education Yes that would be difficult... I was going to do a hospitality course early this year but needed $550 on the spot.. hubby and I both don't have jobs so we just didn't have it.. I was offere dhelp but didn't want it. I'm sick of owing my family money. I'm doing Work for the Dole this year hopefully, it's a work experience thing that goes for 6 months. If I don't find full time work in that time it will add up to 600 credits that I can use for a course. So that would come in handy...

You should try applying to FAFSA and seeing what kind of financing you qualify for. Who knows, maybe you could get a Pell grant? [the ones you never have to pay back <3]
And maybe you could take the majority of your classes on-line, so then you wouldn't have to be away from home too much other then needing to go do research and take tests?
I keep meaning to see what kind of degree you need in the US for a librarian, but keep spacing. sweatdrop

After looking around at school websites from my area.. it looks like you need a degree in Library and Informational Sciences.. and while one might think it'd be a degree related to literature or english.. it's actually classified under the applied sciences departments. I would never have guesses that. A lot of schools in this area only offer a masters or graduate program though.. so i'd still have to find one offering an associates or bachelor's.. yeah. pell grants would make me skip to the lou like real quick... i do still need to look into the kind of financial support i can get for naaman's situation. i was told I might be able to get money from the state since they like to have parents spend more time with their kids if they have special needs. that's what someone from his school mentioned.
i definitely can't take out any more student loans... i already got 15k in student loans hanging over my head from when i didn't finish college the first time. @_@

I think if iwere always either at work or at school.. Naaman would go bonkers... Grace talk to a finanical aid counselor at the school you would like to go to. Tell them that under no uncertain terms will you be able to attend the school without full financial aid and would like some refrences for scholarships you'd be able to apply for. There are TOOOOONNNNSSS of needs based scholarships, scholarships for single moms, scholarships because...hell you have green eyes or brown hair practically. My Financial aid advisor would sometimes inform me I'd received a scholarship I didn't even apply for because at our college they'd somtimes send information on students automatically that met the requirements of the scholarships. The financial aid advisor will want to help you out because they want the money for you tuition regardless of whether you pay it or some scholarship entity pays it.

Well today has been the longest day. My grandfather pasted away this afternoon. I had just dropped my dad off at the airport on his way to see him. Then my brother told me a friend of mine who is deployed to Irqa got hit by a car bomb and lost part of his foot. My husband at finals today, and in the middle of his teat the had to evacuate the buildingso now he has to go in on his next day off to finish. Just when I thought that was enough for one day my brother in-law calledto let us know that he doesn't think Alex will be getting the job he interveiwed for yesterday, that we drove 3 hrs. just for the interveiw. (my brother-in-law works at the company). Today has deffinetly been depressing, I just can't wait for it to be over. crying

It's actually an old banner, but I hadn't used it yet. I SLOWLY rotate my guild banners every so often. 2) MAGIC! sweatdrop Not really. It's a glitch actually. gonk It happened when they were migrating data today. It screwed up the order of a LOT of guild's subforums. Check the Captain's Guild, people are already having hissy fits about it. However, I am told it is being looked into, so hopefully they'll do something to fix this. If not, then it's gonna suck. I do NOT like the order mu subs are in now. crying

Got my hearing tested today. I've been failing the school screenings.
Turns out, I have problems with low pitches...like deep voices. I heard the higher pitches just fine.

That's not uncommon, from what I understand.
I'm definitely a happy Gaian, someone took my offer for a sash even though I've always been quite short of the values. heart
