Luca removed his scarf and put it around the snow elf's neck. "His hands are in his pockets, so He doesn't need arms," He said, admiring the snow elf. He took out his phone and snapped a picture of the snowman.

Lori stood beside Luca and wrapped an arm around him, and kissed his ear as his lover took a picture. Their first snowman ever. He loved sharing these things. After over a hundred years there weren't many first anythings left.
"I love you." He'd wanted to say something else, anything else, anything less corny, but that was what had slipped out. Well then.

Luca snuggled into Lori's hold, smiling. "I lobe you," he said, turning to catch Lori's lips with his own. If it hadn't been cold, he would've suggested staying out forever. The feeling in his heart was warmer than any winter coat.

Lori kissed Luca once softly, and then again immediately after, touching the tip of his tongue to Luca's lip as he did so. It was nothing sexual, just a little bit of passion injected. He held Luca close and couldn't help but smile, eyes closed. He loved this too. All of this.

Luca returned the kiss, paused and kissed again. "It'd be awkward to explain to your friends that we got frozen kissing," he remarked. "Not that I'd mind." he kissed Lori again. "Want to head inside?" And watch the snow from the window? Cuddle together on a couch? What did people even do on vacation?

Lori shook his head, eyes opening and brows furrowed.
"We're too hot." The double entendre was intentional. He chuckled. "But I don't think I'd mind either." He kind of liked it out here alone, like they were on vacation all by themselves. He'd have to bring Luca somewhere nice some day.
"Sure. We can get our room set up." One of the four on the second floor, although one seemed to be meant for kids or somesuch with bunk beds set against the wall. The place had come partially furnished, Toby said.

Luca kissed him again before taking his hand and leading him inside. "Our room, nice." He liked the sound of that. Maybe one day, "our room" would be a forever thing.

"Sure," Lori said with a nod. He took Luca's hand and headed inside, totally forgoing the trio drinking cocoa to set up his room with Luca, their room. Maybe he'd join them after.

Luca happily followed, but his eyes kept wandering to windows. He'd pause and admire the snow. "Do they really have patterns?" He asked. "I heard every snowflake is different."

"Yeah," Lori said with a smile. He had seen snow before. He had just never played in it. "Here."
Rather than start stuffing the drawers or unpacking toiletries, Lori took out his laptop and googled macro images of snowflakes. He scooted it over to Luca with a big smile and started unpacking, leaving him to the stunning images.

Luca wasn't very good with technology but when he spotted the images He stared in wide eyed wonder. Snow really was the most beautiful thing he'd ever seen. "And they melt," he said, sadly. "Something so beautiful should last forever."

"I think a lot of their beauty lies in their lifespan," Lori admitted. He might be getting a little cheesier here but they were talking about it. "They're so fleeting, but they can be the most gorgeous things on earth."
He was struck with a pang. Like Luca? Beautiful and fleeting...
He looked up to the man on the bed and found himself smiling. No. Here and now there was love. There was no need to worry.
"Blink and you miss them."

"It'd be better if they were forever," Luca looked up from the computer screen. Fleeting made beautiful things almost sad. He stepped away from the computer and went to Lori's side. He took his hand. "Lets make sure to admire all the snowflakes in life."

Lori let Luca take his hand and smiled. That was a good motto, not just for snowflakes but for life. Pay attention to the little things that were gone so fast and enjoy them completely. "Absolutely."
"Can you imagine how many made our snowman? How many are out there?" Ah, to see Luca with perfectly-preserved snowflakes in his chilled hair... just a brief mental image that made Lori's smile broaden.

"As innumerable as the stars?" Luca guessed. He gave Lori's hand a squeeze. "Millions and millions." He placed a kiss on Lori's cheek. "Are you looking for2ard to Christmas, love?"
