"We need to move away from the fire." Seto said, watching as Bakura coughed and spluttered at the water. He would have grabbed Bakura underneath his arms, but he noticed his dislocated shoulders, and instead scooped the thief up. Bakura was shaking like mad, making small sounds and cringing. He carried the thief to the outskirts of the ghost town and set him down carefully, noting all the bruises. "Oh, well. Looks like they didn't." Mariku, suddenly realizing his advantage, grinned and stepped forward. "At least I'll have fun killing the same person twice. I'll get to watch you die this time. The others aren't going to be able to help you. They're too busy with the miserable little thief."

Rei stumbled along grasping the cloth to her.she was having a hard time walking.
Ayira's etyes widen as she backed away more "g-g-get away!"

[When Mariku's done doing whatever to Ayira (not gonna kill her) can he take a kid? biggrin He won't hurt it. He just wants a token to remember this night by.]Seto looked up at Rei to make sure she was going to be okay for now, and by the time he turned back to Bakura the thief was unconscious. He looked back up to Rei. "He's clearly been raped and beaten. He's got a burn on his back, but as far as I can tell, the most damage he got from the fire is the smoke. He's gonna be sore and probably out of it mentally, but he should live." He said, glad to see that Mariku hadn't decided to mortally wound Bakura. The idiot had thought that the fire would be enough. Mariku had pulled out a knife and was spinning it in between his fingers. "I always hate it when people tell me that. Do they really expect me to listen and obey?" He lunged forward, seizing Ayira by her throat and slamming her against the wall. "I don't really know much about you. You're the priest's lover, though, aren't you? I think I'll drown you. That's how he tried to kill me. It's fitting, don't you agree?"

Ayira gasped as was slamed into the wall. She stuggled clawing at his hand "N-N-No...."

Seto looked up at Rei. "The ride might hurt him more... but it's better than just sitting here, I guess." He looked at his Millennium Rod. "You won't mind if I mindwash him, do you? In case he wakes up. I won't control him or anything, just... make it so that he doesn't feel the pain." Mariku sneered and whipped out his knife, slashing Ayira's wrist "across the street." He dragged her towards the door, his grip tightening around her throat. "I doubt the thief's wife will miss you, thought the priest might. Rei will certainly miss her children, though. What a shame they're so young. The younger children don't bleed as much."

"Heh. If I wasn't in such a hurry, I'd kill them before your eyes. Let them drop. Their heads would split open like watermelons." Mariku sneered, dragging Ayira to the water. He really was in a hurry-- but wanted to kill this one painfully and in a way he could make sure she was dead. He forced her down, seizing her by her pale hair and forcing her head underwater. Seto picked up his Millennium Rod and waved it before Bakura's face-- the rod glew and then faded slightly. Seto sighed, then was silent. "Well, we had better hurry back. Ayira is probably waiting, and Mariku could come back here..." Seto's words trailed off slowly, when he suddenly realized another possibility. "s**t! s**t!" He screamed, getting to his feet. Why had they just allowed Mariku to ride on? He was probably at the oasis! Ayira and the children would be utterly defenseless!

Ayira struggled as she was forsed under water. She flailed bubblescomming fro the water.
"Crap!"Rei said getting on the horse.

Mariku smirked, lifting Ayira's head for just a moment before smashing her forehead against a rock, letting her drop face down into the water. Though he would have liked to, he didn't stop to make sure she was absolutely dead. But the possibility that she would live was slim. He got up, leaving her there, and went into the house to locate the children. Seto grabbed Bakura and ran to the horse, throwing the thief carelessly onto it and getting on himself. "Hurry!" He urged, worry and anger finding their ways into his voice. If that idiot blonde even DARED to lay one finger on Ayira, he... he....

Rei rushed off twards the oasis.
Ayira went limp as her head was smashed into the rock. Her blood flowed into the water her body floting face first in the water.

Mariku went into the house, going to the bedroom. The two children were there, and he smirked. It wasn't hard to overpower two toddlers, so Mariku easily stuffed little rags into each of their mouths and tied gags tightly. He decided that it would be too much f a hassle to actually kill them here-- it would be easier to just take one with him, to make the thief's wife worry and panic. Then he could send her the child's body, as a gift. He grabbed the girl, pushing the boy underneath the bed.

Both children had started making noises and squirming and thrashing. they dident like the gags.

Mariku kept a firm hold of Femi, holding her around her waist, as he went outside. Going over to his horse, he squeezed her neck, until she passed out. He got up on his horse, grabbing the reins with one hand and holding onto the girl with the other. He rode off quickly, not knowing how long they would be back. When Seto and Rei reached the house, Seto jumped off the horse without even waiting for Rei to stop the beast. He bolted into the house, looking around. "Ayira? AYIRA!" He shouted, quickly looking around in all the rooms. She wasn't here. There was blood on the floor, and he tried not to think about it as he bolted back outside, looking wildly around.

Ayiras body was still floating in the oasis. the water was tinited a light pink from her blood.
"femi! kek!" rei yelled. After getting bakura inside she serched the rooms tears in her eyes.

Seto let out a wordless shout when he saw her. He ran to the water, skidding in the sand as he came to a stop. He grabbed her by her shoulders, flipping her over backwards onto the sand. He didn't know how long she had been there. It didn't matter. He had to try. Overlapping his hands, he put the heel of his hand on Ayira's chest and pushed down quickly, using his entire body weight behind it.
