Chaos looked at the teacher, annoyed. Why did she have to learn this? School was so.. dull. She looked out the window. It seemed so much nicer out there than in here. A bird flew past and her eyes instinctively followed it's path. Chaos sighed. The teacher looked up from his notes and narrowed his eyes at Chaos. Chaos stared back, refusing to back down.
"Chaos. Since you're clearly beyond all this childish rabble, why don't you come up here and show the class how to do the Art of Substitution?" He asked, a smug tone creeping into his voice. The teacher turned back to the class, thinking that Chaos would be too much of a coward to actually come down there and perform in front of the class.
"The Art of Substitution is used to evade enemy attacks and/or sneak up on them. It is a simple jutsu but is extremely useful in missions."Chaos glared at him, took a deep breath and replied evenly,
"Fine." Then she added,
"Sensei."Chaos walked to the front of the class. The teacher showed her the hand signs, in a slow and exaggerated manner. Chaos followed, equally slowly. When, at last, Chaos completed the last hand sign, the teacher laughed.
"Sure took you long enough."Chaos ignored the teacher, and repeated the hand signs, committing them to memory. Despite the teacher's obvious hate for her and her for him, he had a point that this was a basic jutsu used in the ninja world.
Not that we ever go into the Ninja world anyways... She thought bitterly to herself.
Chaos performed the hand signs again, this time faster and immediately, a log appeared in a poof of smoke. The class stared at it and the teacher looked slightly taken back. Chaos walked back into the classroom.
"Well, Sensei. Maybe you should plan better lessons."" She said before walking back to her seat.
The teacher recovered first.
"My classes are perfectly fine. I would like to point out that the substitution jutsu needs to be active for more than just a second. How else is it supposed to fool the enemy? With your pitiful hand signs, I guess I'm not surprised that it only lasted as long as it did." He sneered. Chaos ignored him. If she opened her mouth, she was certain a string of profanity would come out.
The class took another minute to recover and Chaos went back to staring out the window. This time, she was left to her own thoughts as the teacher began calling the other students up. The teacher was a lot nicer to them, congratulating them on missed first tries or mis-performed hand signs. Chaos felt her temper flare up, but resisted the urge to shout out the unfairness. Besides, it was just one more day before she could get out of this dump of a school.
