Waking up in a gasp from a horrific nightmare, Petra swung the covers off and lowered herself onto the wooden floor. Rubbing her eyes she walked into the hallway. Her being new to the Manor, she didn't quite know her way around, and kept a hand on the wall as she tip-toed agilely up the hall. Such a big house she thought, Tis' a wonder if I find my way back to my room!

After investigating the odd event in the manors ballroom and finding it oddly empty Sajuuk took to wandering the manor once more. Events here were few and far between, the security staff were reduced to examining odd smells within the building due to the extreme lack of activity. Sure they were used to this at a point but now, after all they had been through together, it was far harder to just sit idle. To them this felt like the calm before the storm, whether that was true or not was a different story. There still was a definite threat to this place but it was being kept at bay very well by the vampire clams of Malkesh. Even then they still felt the tension and unease like it could spill over at any time. Until then they would attend to their duties like Sajuuk did and just assist in the manor how ever they could. Making sure the residents were well situated and comfortable. Sajuuk made his way to the second floor, taking in the scents of the new visitors and trying to work out who was who and who was where. he picked up the scent of someone on the move, wondering who it would be he stayed standing at the top of the stairs, surely they would end up here sooner or later. That way he could get introductions and such out of the way and perhaps show them around if they needed that help.

After much attempt of stealth in order to not wake the others, Petra came upon a large staircase. She regained her vision in the dark as she entered the room, and caught sight of some shifting on the walls. Her eyes almost vibrating in their sockets, Petra looked up, down, left, right in order to find the source of the disturbance. This was, after all, her new home, and she must do all she can to protect it.
Finally deciding to keep moving up to the staircase, Petra saw a solid shape at the top. "Hello?" she called out as softly as possible.

Sajuuk watched as a form wandered down the hallway towards his position. When he heard the sounds of greeting he lifted his right hand in acknowledgement before speaking, "Hello there young one. I am Sajuuk, member of the manors security force." He said, feeling the need to fill the stranger in fully, just in case his presence was mistaken for something else. "You new here? If so you can direct any requests or questions my way. We have been stuck for things to do since this place grew quiet."

"Quiet?" Petra repeated in puzzlement. "When were things so deafening?" Petra was at the foot of the stairs now below the figure.

Sajuuk chuckled, this one had absolutely no idea and rightly so. It was a good sign that the old news had never spread outside of these walls. "Things were deafening until.... about a month or so ago..... perhaps longer than that. I can't quite remember. When you live long enough time sort of melds together. At a point this safe haven was more of a war zone." Said Sajuuk as he kept his gaze focused upon the newcomer as she moved around. "You came at a decent time compared to most of the others but you should be warned that danger could once again spill over."

At his last words Petra looked down in sadness. "I regret to say that I am more than capable against things 'dangerous', but thank you for your concern." Petra then turned on her heel and went back the way she came. It might do well for her to move on from this place if it is in danger. Best not to draw attention to myself she thought, I wouldn't want to put these people in more danger...

"Yes, dangerous things is one thing but an army of dangerous things is another. It is a warning we must give to all. It would be wrong of us not to inform our guests. This place is still a haven though so stay as long as you like and please don't let my over paranoia discourage you from staying." Said Sajuuk as the strange guest doubled back. It was true that the manor could ta any time turn into a war zone but that was always the case the enemy was the only thing that changed. At first it was those human hunter bands, then came clan head and now daemonic hoards. The only real difference this time is that the daemons were occupied elsewhere. "Oh well, might have scared another one off. Looks like I got that from my father to." grumbled Sajuuk as he headed down the stairs towards the dinning room.

Petra, now almost beating her frontal lobe against the wall of the protruding hall, felt deep regret for yet again turning away from her idea of the perfect home. No, she thought. Not again, this is my home now, and I will just have to make myself be comfortable, no matter how it turns out for me. If there are lives that I must gaurd and protect, I have to do it, in order to repay humanity. With that last word of encouragement, she quietly bounded off towards the security gaurd. Wait, she thought, wait for me.

Sajuuk turned his head slightly to the side, catching the sight of that guest in his peripheral vision. He never figured he would catch sight of her again after his speech. "Need something young one? Assistance, answers, a guide?" his pace slowed slightly to allow this new comer to catch up to him.

"Yes" Petra answered. "I apologize for walking away while you were speaking." She added with a bow. "Um, I was wondering....um, could you help me back to my room? I honestly have no idea where it is." She looked down sheepishly.

"No need to apologise. I are used to that sort of thing." Said Sajuuk as he stopped walking and turned to face this young one. "Yes I can help you back to your room. Just give me your name and I'll find it. Sorry for the inconvenience, they really should have put numbers on the doors or something. Far to many people loose their rooms thanks to the manors labyrinthine nature. It can be quite troublesome. So no need to worry. Even I lost my room when I arrived here."

Petra managed an aching smile back at the guard. "Thanks," she said with a nod. "My name's Petra...but I don't see how it will do much good. I think I've only been here a few days, and hardly anyone has seen me." She finished while fanging at her lip thoughtfully.

Sajuuk chuckled, "Nice to meet you Petra. It helps to know the names, especially since visitors are recorded as they come in. The person who showed you your room in the first place would have noted down where they left you and since I check for the updates daily I am informed and if worst comes to worst I can just trying sniffing it out. So please follow me I think I know which one you are." Said Sajuuk with a smile. He knew roughly what hallway she came from, it would just come down to sniffing out the room from there. No more that about ten minutes of time killed in doing so. This day was proving to be long indeed. "So, you new to the curse, gift or how ever you look at it?" Sajuuk could not help but ask, he was naturally curious about these things and he got few excuses to talk with the guests these days.
