"Ah... You miss Cody, don't cha? Me too..." Sammy sighed. Why hadn't she seen her big brother in the past few days, anyway?

Arekku greeted everyone in the common room, a regular day in HQ it seemed. He walked to the telepad in the corner and stepped in it, teleporting him to the beach, under the rays of a beautiful sunset, “I think Torque and Roddy should see it,” he said picking the only two poke balls off of his belt and tossing them up. In two bright flashes the Savage pokemon Carvanha and the Aquamouse pokemon Marill appeared. The two pokemon, happy to be out of there poke balls, looked up and Arekku with bright and cheerful faces. Carvanha hopped towards the water while Marill jumped up into the arms of his trainer. Arekku jogged to the water's edge as Carvanha jumped out of the water sending a splash of it his way. Arekku quickly covered his face but his clothes got drenched in the process, he laughed nonetheless and put Marill down.

“Now listen guys,” he spoke, “We're trying to find this pokemon.” he pulled out a picture of a Venonat at showed it to the both of them. “I was told I could find it further in on the island but from what I read, Venonat are attracted to light so I'll shine my flashlight while were walking to see if that doesn't help any.” the two pokemon nodded. “I'll need to return you guys so that there isn't a chance of scaring it away.” They nodded again and he held up each of their poke balls and in a flash of red light they went back into their balls.

Arekku walked to the edge of the forest and pulled out his flashlight, took a deep breathe, held it, let it escape, and walked into the green maze. Every step seemed to make him more and more excited and pumped him up, a few times he had to remind himself to calm down because it might scare away some pokemon or wake up some angry pokemon. After a while of wlking he reached into his pocket and pulled out a small little LED flashlight and turned it on where it was pointed he noticed a color out of the ordinary in the forest.

Gray, a light gray, next he noticed the little lump of gray move in, it appeared to be turning around. Then he saw one but round mean looking eye, that is when he realized it was a pokemon that had probably been woken up by his light. “Nin! Nincada!!” The pokemon's enraged voice sent a shiver through Arekku's spine. It jumped about five feet toward Arekku and launched a swift Sand Attack causing Arekku to cover his face. By the time the dust settled the Nincada had moved directly in front of Arekku and was preparing a flurry of Fury Swipes. Arekku backed up just in time to dodge the three that were swung.

Arekku quickly snatched a poke ball off of his belt and threw it out into the field. The opening he was in was big enough for a battle. Marill landed after the familiar white flash and landed. Marill looked a little confused, “Mari-Marill!” the pokemon shouted. “I know it isn't the pokemon I showed you but this one won't let me pass so we have to fight it!” Marill nodded to show he acknowledged him. The Nincada moved a lot quicker than Arekku thought it would but Marill had noticed and jumped to dodge the Scratch attack that probably would have caused a severe amount of damage. Marill countered with and astounding Water Gun that hit hit the Nincada square in the back. The pokemon, truly enraged now stood up on it's hind legs and used Mind Reader to ensure that it's next attack could not miss. As Marill landed the Trainee pokemon quickly spun around and launched another Sand Attack that momentarily blinded Marill.

Nincada was swift on the move to attack Marill with a barrage of Fury Swipes, Marill dodged the first couple swipes but was caught by the next three. Marill, now severely hurt, stood up slowly and awaited the Nincada's next move, which happened shortly after. A very powerful looking Scratch attack Marill threw it's tail around in a Tail Whip hitting the side of Nincada's arm knocking it off course and dropping the pokemon's defense slightly. The surprised Nincada stopped and tried a Fury swipes but Marill was too fast for it as a quick Defense Curl turned into an even more powerful Rollout attack. The Nincada tried to jump out of the way but was hit on the underside and and knocked into a tree. The Nincada tried to get up again but was hit again with the further heightened Rollout. After hitting yet another tree, the Nincada passed out due to fatigue and Marill stopped rolling.

Arekku ran over to Roddy and picked him up “Mari...Marill.” the Aquamouse cheered. “You totally deserve a good rest.” He spoke as he pulled out the Roddy's pokeball and returned him in a bright red flash. Arekku hadn;t noticed how dark it had gotten during the battle and remembered that he'd dropped his flashlight when the Nincada attacked him. He stood up straight and noticed a bright light a little off in the distance. He blinked and chased after it.

“Now who would...” He almost gasped as he noticed what pokemon was holding it. The purple fur, the white antennae, and the big red eyes. It undoubtedly was a Venonat. Arekku stepped out from behind the tree and showed himself to the pokemon who dropped the flashlight. “Veno-Veno-Venonat!” the pokemon cried and picked up the light looking like it was protecting it. Arekku looked at the small furball and smiled. “Venonat I challenge you to a battle! If I win, you come with me and all allow me to befriend you. If you win, I'll leave you alone” the Venonat looked a little confused, glancing back and fourth between Arekku and the light. It slowly nodded and sat the flashlight down. It patted it and turned to look to Arekku awaiting his move.

Arekku thought about his earlier battle and thought it better to use Torque. He pulled the poke ball off his belt and tossed it out onto the field. In a bright white flash the Savage pokemon Carvanha hopped out. The Venonat moved first using an ineffective confusion. Carvanha seemed like he was laughing at the attempt and tried to use a Scary Face that slowed the Venonat's movements severely. Carvanha, proud of his achevement moved in to use an Ice Fang which hit the Venonat but didn't do very much, the Venonat countered with a Supersonic attack which hit with such velocity that it knocked Carvanha back around five feet, the Venonat continued with it's assault and used an effective Disable, which caused Carvanha to not be able to use Ice Fang. Carvanha stood up and looked ready to fight more at first but seemed to smile and dance around. He ran face first into a tree and fell to the ground. He was on no use like this, if it kept up Arekku would have to forget the Venonat and the flashlight. But just as quickly as Torque hit the tree the confusion that spelled him, broke. And he spun around, very angry now.

The Venonat, unable to move very fast jumped up but not high enough to gather the momentum needed to create the knock out Tackle. The attack hit but didn't cause very much damage to Carvanha, and because of Torque's Rough Skin ability, the Venonat was hurt as well. Both pokemon looked pretty worn out but neither were giving up. Carvanha took the initiative for a Focus Energy to build power for more powerful hits as Venonat prepared a powerful Supersonic. After the attack was launched Carvanha rolled to the side and charged (in a hopping motion) in with an Ice Fang attack. The Venonat, taken by suprise fell back after being bitten, frozen. Arekku took the chance to throw a pokeball, after all the amount of ice was very little and could melt easily in the heat of this place. The poke ball hit Venonat and bounced on the ground for a second. It waggled there for a second with the light at it's center blinkingwith each roll. After a moment of doing that it stopped. And Arekku knew he had caught a new pokemon.

Arekku Cheered for a second before he realized it was very dark and he wasn't sure which way he needed to go to get back to the Telepad. He began to panic, but then Carvanha yelled getting his attention. “Torque? What is it?” the pokemon began hopping in one direction and Arekku followed. Soon after they returned to the beach where Carvanha fell in it's side and panted. Arekku ran over to him and dropped to his knees, “You did good back there to know?” Carvanha appeared to nod once, “I think you deserve a good nights rest.” Arekku spoke with care for the pokemon. He pulled out the poke ball and returned the weakened pokemon. He stood up whiped off the sand and headed to the telepad that would take him to the HQ where he could hopefully find a way to heal his pokemon fast. He stepped onto the pad and teleported back into the common room.

Cody walked in, sighing. "Hey Sammy. Seen Adie around?" He had missed her more than anything, but now he was hopefully back to stay.

It took a minute for everything to register in his head, but once it had, Cody was in tears, wrapping his arms around her and embracing her tightly, not wanting to ever let go. "I missed you so much," he said, sniveling.

Arekku went up to the beach using the Telepad, after the training he did yesterday he felt it was nesissary to rest a little while and give his pokemon their own time under the stars allow them to do as they wish. He pulled two pokeballs off of his belt with one hand and one with the other, releasing Torque, Roddy and Ven onto the soft surface.

Sammy watched Cody's breakdown, deciding not to say anything. This was their moment, and it was really cute! If only she could still have moments like that. It felt like, to her, that she was the old geezer in the corner saying 'when I was younger I was a wild one'...

Arekku walked into the HQ common room plopped down on the couch with Roddy on his shoulder. "Hi all!"

Sport walks into HQ. "Hey guys." he says.
