I use a max repel, take three steps, and run into a Pokemon. The hell?

Maxim, I remember that. Sometimes you click it wrong and then it says you did but you didn't. Run in a non-pokemon area till it wears off.

Repels work like this...
If you use a repel, you won't see any pokemon that are under the level of your leading pokemon...
You will still encounter pokemon that are at a higher level than your lead pokemon...
Say I'm in a cave with Lv 10 pokemon, if I use any repels on myself, and my lead pokemon is lv 20, I will not encounter any pokemon...
However If my lead pokemon is lv 10 or less, I will still continue to encounter pokemon..
Oh, but you'll still see any running legendaries while being covered with repel..

Also there is a chance that pokemon under your level will appear, it's just realy, REALY low, in victory road a whole load of level 47s kept appearing at one point, repel was for sure on, and my lead was 52.

I wonder what the chances of encountering a wild Pokemon is with a Pokemon with Stench and a Cleanse Tag in front..
