So for the Nuzlocke challenge I caught a level 4 Metapod. Leveling this thing's going to be so much fun.
Nidoran (F) also apparently learns Double Kick at level 12 in Yellow, so I might actually stand a chance against Brock.
EDIT: I decided to link Yellow up to Pokémon Stadium 2 for fun, and I find out that everything I've caught so far is female. So much for Nidoran being the token chick. XD

Zephyr, did you check the patch of grass to the left of Viridian City? Where you can go to challenge your rival? I caught a Mankey there (yay luck!)

That's where I caught Nidoran. surprised Lucky.  Nidoran is actually way more lucky. Nidoking/Queen are the only first-gen Pokemon who can learn both Fissure and Horn Drill, which are ridiculously reliable after just one X Accuracy.
