No answer, though the person paused for a second before continuing.
Anatoly struggled, but there was no way to escape these bonds. He had about two seconds left before that knife was within killing distance.

Another pause, longer than before, then a short nod. And indeed, within ten seconds Anatoly was cut free.

Knifeman held up a hand to stop Anatoly. He grabbed his mask at the edges and began to pull. Anatoly felt a strange ringing, almost like a Mysticker's activation, just before the mask disconnected with a pop.
"Can't talk with those damn things on," Commander Hawke said. "I think they're Sticker-produced. All the Rose underlings wear them, so they can't speak. Interesting."
He kicked it away and looked at Anatoly. "You ready to go?"

"I am so confused, you don't even know," Anatoly replied. "I think we both know more than we've told each other but we'll resolve that later, I imagine. And if by ready you mean 'ready to get the hell out of wherever we are,' because I just heard you say 'Rose,' then yes. Yes I am."

"Rose safehouse," Hawke said cheerily. He walked over to the window and looked out. "We're clear for now. Let's roll."
Hawke went to the door he had come in, looked out, then headed out.

Anatoly followed Hawke, refusing to comment on how convenient and easy that had been lest he tempt fate.

A wise decision. Hawke led him to the door of the front room, opened it and looked out, then went into the hall. They hadn't seen anyone yet, but Anatoly was extremely on edge.
Hawke, on the other hand, was more at ease; though silent, he seemed on the verge of whistling.

They made it outside the building. Anatoly could feel the presence of several Mystickers nearby, but Hawke thankfully led them away, to a car, which they climbed into and drove off.
"Ideas for our next move?" he asked.

"Any chance we could hit the police station? I kinda miss my letter opener. Plus it'll be a good, well-defended place for us to figure out what's going on," Anatoly suggested.

"They might be looking for us there," Hawke said. "And the other cops don't know I'm a Blazer, so if the Roses showed up there, we'd have a problem."
He looked at Anatoly. "I'm sure you've already figured that I'm a Blazer. Otherwise, you're slower than Osiris predicted."

"So you were the one backing me up when the others in the Blazer bar jumped me, I assume?" Anatoly replied. He felt a twinge of guilt as Hawke spoke. "I... how's Osiris doing? From what I've heard, the Guardians got hit as hard as Blazer Black. And IR captured Stark...."
