Sammy walked up to the top of the volcano, coughing through all of the smoke. "I'm too young to get cancer!" she yipped as she inhaled a bit too much and went into coughing spazzems.

Soon enough, Maddy found her next and last opponent. She sent out Blaze while her opponent, a male Peon, sent out an Absol. Blaze started off the battle with Earthquake, causing terrible damage. Absol countered with Psycho Cut, followed immediately after with Sucker Punch. Blaze shook off the damage and let loose a Flamethrower, finishing off Absol.
Blaze was tired, so Maddy returned him and sent out Emp to fight the opponent's final Pokemon, Charizard. Emp summoned a wave of water washing over Charizard. Charizard countered with Fire Blast, which missed just barely. Emp then finished off Charizard with Bubblebeam.
"Finally." Maddy sighed, continuing on her way with no more worries.

Ike met Sammy at the top.
"Fancy meeting you here." he joked. Up ahead, noises from some type of machine could be heard.

Kai got up to the top of the volcano, panting. "What's that sound?" he asked.

"What a coincidence," she added, her eyes closed. She would rely on her hearing because of the smoke that bellowed around. "Shall we continue?" she asked, gesturing forward in a lady-like way.

Memo was running as fast as he could but his earlier injury was hinderd him.....just then he saw 2 more peons..a man and a woman together with 2 pokeballs on their balts...and one growlithe
"Hmmm...i have to get up there"
Memo then tried to sneak past them...but snapped a tree branch
"Whos there??!!"
They asked while they readied their pokeballs and realeased zubats
"Ok...then...lets go Larvitar...your more then enough for 2 zubats...
"HEHEHE WELL SEE YOU LITTLE TART!!!"
The lady and man both said...
"BITE!!!!"
they swarmed larvitar only doing minor damge before both memo and larvitar were both fed up
"THATS IT!!!!STONE EDGE!!!!!
Larvitar yelled out and then realeased a parade of sharp jagged rocks and defeated them both at once
"LET ME PASS!!!!"
Memo yelled as he wanted to be with his friends....he also just noticed that they wre twins...
The man peon said
"GRRRRR NO WAY!!! WERE GONNA FINISH WHAT WE STARTED

"Dunno." Ike told Kai. "But lets go."
Leading the group through the thick, smoldering air, the Team walks up to the edge of the volcano's crater. Ike peered past all the rising smoke and ash to see a drill-like machine down in the lava pool, stirring the lava.
"What the heck are they doing?" Ike asked. On the other side of the crater, he made out a sillouette of a familiar figure with a long coat.
"Maxie." he said. "Come on, lets deal with this guy. Heal your pokemon now if you can."
Ike started running along side the volcano's crater over to where Maxie was standing.

Kai just shrugged and followed Ike. "Ive never seen Maxie face to face before, what's he like?" Kai asked his leader.

Sammy growled as she saw the Magma leader. "YOUR HAIR SUCKS EGGS!" she shouted, just to annoy him. She reached into her pocket, grabbing some food. She fed each of the pokemon she had used, not healing them, but making them feel better. She then followed Mr. Ike.

Ike looked back at Kai while he ran.
"To tell you the truth... i've never really confronted him myself. It's been so long since we've had to deal with them." Ike confessed. He'd seen Maxie's image in the news before.

"Then we are in for a ride, aren't we?" Kai said, running faster, hoping the change in pace would help him get ready for the battle and ignore the pain in his body from running.

Sammy skipped along happily. Her mood hadn't dampened much, so she was quickly back to her happy self. "I can't wait to beat him~" she chimed with a smile.

As the team approached Maxie, peons surrounded the team, about five to one. Maxie turned around, surprised of who he saw.
"Fufufu, if my eye don't deceive me, it's the infamous Team Aqua!" he smirked. "I'm surprised you knew where to find this island."
Ike tilted his head and laughed a little.
"We live here, and we don't like trespassers in our back yard!" Ike told him.
"Then why have you allowed the legendary Lava Dome Pokemon to intrude your volcano?" Maxie questioned. The peons laughed.
"Huh?" Ike asked.
Maxie tilted his head upward, talking to the black, cloudy sky.
"Honestly, Archie, you lost to these nit-wits? Hmph." he spoke to himself.

Maddy didn't take her eyes off Maxie. "A Pokemon is causing this? That would explain a lot." She took a Pokeball from her pocket, ready for anything.

"Wait..." Kai said, trying to remember his Pokemon. But he failed. "There's a Lava Dome Pokemon?" He asked out loud.
