Had Quin not gone through his life with crazy s**t happening to him being his with a ghost braid might have freaked him out, in this case it only caused him to wonder just a bit about this woman who was so very much like a child.

"Quin."

He had no reason to give out his full name and it made him wonder just how much of an effect the cider had if she had already forgotten his name since it had been one of the first things he said to her.

Sipping from his own glass he would set it down and refill her's.

"Oh...That's cool..." God, he was going to think she was an idiot if she couldn't pull herself together. But the hand on her back felt nice. Once her glass was refilled, she reached for it, and took another sip.

"This cider is good. " her lips smacked, and while it may have been attractive on her normally, since she was acting a bit like a child, it was hard to see it as such. Again, a wiggle. This time just a bit closer to Quin. She didn't realize it of course, she was just a bit of a touchy feely person and he was so nice, and her children had been so rude, and Ra'kar was busy...she felt the tears welling up in her eyes, but she forced them back down.

"Yes, the cider is good Jade."

Working his way through his third glass and going strong. It was expected of one who hit the alcohol when the worse happened, not to say he hadn't had worse addictions in life.

"So Jade, why did you come here? Why not stay at the hotel and cheer on Vahn or Sun?"

Once his hand on just been on her back, now it was practically wrapped around her shoulder.

And she snuggled right into him. She was addicted to it, whether she knew it or not. She wasn't a whore, but she was a cuddle bunny so to speak. "Oh, we're at the hotel, I was just heading out to meet ...well, the brats. And then they got a little carried away." She cradled the glass in her hands, close to her chest, just to watch the steam rise.

"Besides, Vahn would just get pissed, and Sunny would probably freak out. He's a bit overprotective sometimes."

That brought an amused smile to his face.

"Yes, I do believe you. Couple nights ago I saw a commercial where Sun was being very protective of a team mate."

There were some wild teams this year and people were loving the antics. And there was plenty to go around with a record number of teams competing.

Quin wasn't really thinking about that though, he was a bit interested in the fact that steam was rising from her cider.

"How do you do that?"

She looked up at him, and then realized she was all but laying in his armpit. "Sorry..." She sat up and glanced down at her cider. "Cider's supposed to be hot, so I made it hot." She shrugged, it wasn't that big of a deal, she thought. Most times, she just wanted something warm, it became warm for her.

She was trying not to think about Sun being protective of someone else. It always left her with a bit of an ache. Sunny had been her first crush when the hormones had caught up to her, and he was still in her head to a degree. She reached up and scratched at the back of her neck, where even she wasn't aware that Sunny had left his mark on her when he'd dove into her mind a while back, leaving a henna colored sun tattoo on the back of her neck, identical to the ones that he had covering his body.

Not that they were visible, unless you were touching one of the two charms that were lying on the table currently. She'd put the charms down so she could focus on the cider.

Magic was always so easy for people he ran into when he first showed up in this crazy world he didn't know how and had learned with ease. At least that's what he thought, he could think of no other way. Sadly he was back to where he was before arriving.

"I guess you're right, though the weather doesn't seem cold enough for it."

The false warmth of alcohol was enough for him. And he was starting to feel its effects upon his body, his hands felt warm and numb and while he couldn't walk a straight line normally he wasn't all that sure he'd make it out the door without falling at least once.

"So you just in town for the night or what?"

"Hmm...I'm not entirely sure. Probably for the duration of the tournament unless she does whatever she's going to do before then." No, she didn't have a big understanding of the 'Plan'. She was here because her Mistress was. She sighed and leaned back against the booth. His arm had felt rather nice. Oh well.

"What about you?"

"This town seems nice enough. I could stay here a while."

Things were happening in the world, things most people didn't know about. Quin didn't even know exactly what was happening; but he knew enough rumours to know he wanted in so he was working on making every connection he could.

"What is she going to do?"

He needed to know more.

Another shrug. "I dunno. She and Victor have something planned. Dunno what it is though. He gives me the creeps so I tend to stay away from him. Looks way too much like Vahn."

She sipped again, only to find her glass was empty again and she giggled. She sat the glass down and turned to look at Quinn. "I'm not sure if I would stay in Latent if I were you. It's...gotten creepy these past few months. Zombies attacking and all sorts of things."

"Hmm."

There was a new name. Mentally Quin would begin listing the people he through involved and connect them together as best he could. Still there was much he was missing.

"Yes, the undead have become a bit too restless. Especially with the take over of Barton."

He knew that well enough, he half swore his partner was an undead zombie; but the guy kept referring to himself as a ghoul and Quin was left wondering exactly what was the truth.

"Though I suppose it would depend upon the company one keeps that makes a place worth staying."

He would pour her some more cider as well as refill his glass.

"Exactly" A delicate little hiccup and then a shiver. Stupid air conditioning. Made everything so cold. "It's why I do like Levi. Everyone knows me because of my father, but I get to meet new people all of the time. And most of them like each other, even if they put up a front they don't. I think even Alpha liked me...if he was capable of liking anyone..." She had to ponder that for a moment.

"The Leviathan stadium is just one big...dystfunctional but happy family, I like to think. Even my mother..." She paused to explain. "She still goes to the Leviathan, despite not being involved with my father anymore. Dante still does work for the occassional fighter. Well...if they can find me or her, since we're pretty much the only people he doesn't try to shoot on sight. Well, and Lucian, but Lucian is pretty much..." again, a pause.

"I'm sorry, I'm rambling." She looked at the glass. "It may not have alcohol in it, but it does have sugar..." She tried to shake off the effect. She wasn't quite bouncy, but her mood was improved and she was feeling better.

Quin would just sit and listen to her, taking in the information as the numbness began to hit his brain. These names didn't seem as important as the others, just people she knew. People he might some day meet; but considering her words they didn't seem all that high on the food chain.

"No, no. It's no problem at all. In fact it's rather entertaining, me being a stranger to most of this and all. I don't many people at all from the stadium; but I do know that feeling of family."

It was probably a good thing that Quin was never a violent drunk, he could be happy or sad though and if he was allowed to wander too far down his current train of thought he'd be getting in his own way home sick. So he took another drink and smiled at her thinking there was no alcohol in it.

"A more dangerous combination is sugar and alcohol. But I think I'm okay there." She nodded, and felt her world spin slightly. Maybe she was getting tired. Ra'kar had kept her up rather late last night since she was going to be so busy doing other things. But it made her miss the demoness all the more.

"Used to be I knew everyone in the stadium. Papa owned the stadium, so everyone knew our family, and eventually we knew them. Kasuga, Sunstrike, Unsane, HonoRaven, Winter ..." A small frown as she reached for a necklace that wasn't there.

"Maximos..." She sat the glass down and wrapped her arms around her body. "People die, but they never leave you..." She remember her 'uncle' Maxi smiling at her, teaching her about how she needed to remember control, and responsibility. She sighed softly, her slightly pointed canines nibbling at her lips as she fiddled with the charms that were on the table.

"I should go..." She'd wait for him to get up, so she could get out. She's sat on the inside after all.

Right after she finished saying "never leave you" Quin leaned into her and brushed his face against her cheek. It'd been a while since he done anything like this but any skill he had lost could be ignored.

"Yes. They never do."

The nightmares he had because of it. Pushing that to the back of his head he concentrated on the here and now, nuzzling her neck.

"You've had a bit to drink. Why not relax with me a while?"
