Well, where as i only play as Blood Angels and Tau i dont get quite as excited when other races/chapters codex come out. Where as Ive noticed some people getting excited over NEW and INTERESTING Imperial Guard or Nids coming out...i just see a different target to destroy.

I wouldnt be surprised if I did, since theres so many of the bloody bastards XD

But im just saying i dont get all excited bout new codex's coming out (even for the more main races) for things i personally dont play as. Its cool and all Im just not goin jump and down and do cart wheels for them...just as i dont expect ya'll to do the same when a tau or blood angel codex comes out.

I have a decent story of a battle that took place awhile ago with me and another of this Guilds members against a Nid player. We had about 3000 or more points each, I didn't honestly keep track but I'm almost positive we broke the 3000 barrier between me and Vykos with the Nids player still beating us in points. We were both playing Space Marines with the only special units being a Librarian, my Special boxing captain, and my Terminator Chaplain. We were up against 12 or so Warriors(some with wings), 2-3 carnifexes(can't remember if one played center or not), 2 Zoanthropes, innumerable Hormagaunts and Termagaunts and atleast 25 Genestealers with an acting Hq being a Hive Tyrant. We had A Terminator Chaplain with a squad of Assault Terminators armed with Thunder Hammers and Storm Shields, 5 Assault Terminators with Lightning Claws, A Jump Packed Librarian, A dual powerfist using Marine Captain, 30 or so Regular Space Marines, a Predator, a Rhino, and 11 scout snipers.

In the first round we wasted the two Zoanthropes, the snipers picking off one and the Terminators rushing up and slaughtering the other before spreading out and forming a wall from the side of one building to another, protecting 2x10 man squads of marines from the approaching 'nids with the Chaplain backing them up with his faster power weapon. The marines were split into 4x5 man teams, each with a rocket launcher or, in one case, a Flamer. We spat rockets and bolter shells into the front ranks of one Hormagaunt swarm and the rippers that preceded them, trying to hold them back and keep the Carnifex that followed away. The snipers, meanwhile, had their hands full with a ranged weapon carnifex and a Winged Warrior brood that was threatening them. Through the center pushed the rest of the warriors, along with the genestealers. What firepower could be redirected scorched the genestealers from the face of the board, along with some bolter shells to clear away a vast majority of the Guants.

The Second turn was a pivotal point, the snipers eliminating the carnifex as it settled in, Vykos's snipers firing into the Warriors and taking one down. Around the back of a tower came a swarm of Hormagaunts, racing towards the building that our Scouts hid in, their +2 cover save protecting them from too much harm. In the center matters turned grave as the Rhino jumped towards enemy lines and a squad of 5 marines with the Boxing Captain moved towards the center to hold off the incoming Warriors as the Nids ripped into the charging Lightning Claw terminators. With only one terminator left, the Warriors would have a clear shot into the flanks of my squads without support. The Predator opened fire with it's assault cannon and took more of the Hormagaunts out, leaving them to a dwindled few. The few that lived closed with my rear guard, wiping them away in an instant with only one lone soul remaining. Meanwhile, the Wall of Terminators held strong, taking the charge of a genestealer swarm and shrugging it off with ease, smashing afew of the loathesome creatures in the process as the remaining hormagaunts closed in to strike with the 'stealers. The Space Marines guarding the rear did what they could, shooting what presented itself and defending their flank from the incoming swarms. The Hive Tyrant clambered up onto another building, putting itself in clear sight of the brave snipers below while roaring its' challenge to the waiting Rhino and Librarian.

The Third turn was our undoing, the shield wall holding firm through the first 3 assaults before crumbling in the face of overwhelming numbers, leaving the marines behind them vulnerable before bolter shells and rockets ripped through rank after rank of Gaunt and Stealer alike, destroying them thoroughly in retribution. The Predator was destroyed by shots from the Warrior brood, and as the Hive Tyrant dropped from above the Librarian and the Rhino occupants made their charge, the brave marines dying in the face of such a monster while Snipers took the shots they could, wounding the creature. The Librarian bolstered itself with powers of the mind, throwing itself into the fray only to be beaten back and slain by the creature. Gaunts swarmed up into the Sniper building, slaying many of them instantly while a brave few fought on with knife and fist. With so many forces down and time running short, a retreat was called, 20 or so marines escaping as our game was forced to a close.
