"Took care of what?" Kai asked running out. Then he saw the cloud. "WHAT IN THE NAME OF THE MIGHTY TORKOAL IS THAT?!" He yelled pointing at the volcano.

"Look!" Ike said to the team, pointing to the horizon down the beach in the direction of the volcano. Red helicopters could be seen flying toward the island. Peons were dropping from ropes and into the forest.
"Team Magma." he identified. "Come on everyone. Battle your way to the volcano's peak. Take out 3 peons on the way. They usually carry 2-3 pokemon each." said Ike. Before running off, he filled Memo and Kai in.

"A couple of weeks ago, Magma dropped a device into our volcano. We fished it out... but it looks like they're not done here." he said, finally running off toward the volcano.

Sammy nodded to Mr. Ike, running off into the woods to find the peons.

Maddy ran off, heading towards the volcano. "This should be a breeze."

Sammy ran through the woods, knocking the branches of trees out of her way as she did so. She ran head-first into one peon, while the peon behind that one fell. “Looks like a double battle!” one of the two smiled, grabbing a pokeball. The other did the same, and the two looked like twins. Sammy moaned; she just wanted to get this over with. “Fine…” she sighed, watching as the opposing team sent out a Poochyena and Silcoon. Sammy, in turn, let out Squirt and Blitzen. The Cyndaquil raced forth at the Silcoon with Flamethrower, doing massive damage and almost fainting it. Poochyena tackled Squirt, which did a bit of damage. Squirt shot a simple Water gun at the Silcoon, which fainted the giant ball of, what seemed to be, yarn. The pokemon was returned and a Torkoal was released. Blitzen now raced at the Poochyena, surrounding it with a Flame Wheel. The dog jumped out of the fire, although it seemed to follow it, and bit down on Squirt’s arm. Squirt got ready and shot a Hydro Pump at the Torkoal, which almost fainted it, too. Torkoal tackled Blitzen, as it knew neither of its types of attack would be effective. Blitzen shot flames at the Poochyena, fainting it. Squirt shot a water gun at Torkoal, fainting it, too. One peon now sat down with a defeated look on his face while the other released a Mightyena that growled menacingly at the opponents. Mightyena lunged at Squirt, biting him. Squirt now appeared very tired. Alas, with both the Flamethrower and Hydro pump that Squirt and Blitzen provided, the pokemon fainted. The two peons ran away, and Sammy returned her pokemon, congratulating them. She ran off, wondering if she would run into another peon.

Kai ran up to the first Magma Peon. "Righty then, you made a bad choice, I'm going to show you the power of Aqua!" Kai said getting his Pokeball ready. "Sure you are kid, let's go." The peon sent out a Poochyena. Kai sent out Larvitar. Kai's Pokemon used Thrash, slamming over and over again into Poochyena. The dog Pokemon came back with bite, then running back and using Howl to raise attack. Larvitar was confused! "Oh no." Kai said as the Pokemon came on. Poochyena use Bite and Tackle and Bite again, about to finish it, but Larvitar use Rock Throw and then Crunch, coming out of confusion. The Pokemon fainted. Zubat was sent out by the Peon. It used Bite, but then ws met by Crunch and Rock slide, going down quickly.

The first one ran away, and Kai sent out Carvanha, switching out Larvitar. The second Peon wanted to doulbe battle so he sent out a Zubat and a Numel. Kai sent out Clefairy to help out his first Pokemon. Clefairy used Light screen, making Kai's team more suited to fight special attacks. Carvanha used Ice Fang on Zubat who used Wing Attack, but Kai's Carvanha used Water Gun to send Zubat into the air, then it hopped up and used Aqua Jet, knocking Zubat down into the ground. Meanwhile, Numel's Ember attack was doing much because of Light Screen, and Clefairy used DoubleSlap and then Metronome, which turned into Mach Punch, knocking out Numel.

Kai returned Carvahna and Clefairy and went to fight a Female Peon, who sent out Vulpix. Kai used Carvanha and the Pokemon used Bite on Vulpix, but the Fire type used Flamthrower, Payback, Extrasensory and Quick attack in a fast combo that left Carvanha dazed. "That's it! You're going down!" Kai said. Vulpix was affected by Rough skin. Then Kai's Pokemon used Payback, then another Payback, then Aqua Jet and Water Gun, knocking out Vulpix. Then came in a Wurmple, a much weaker Pokemon. "Heh, that's all? Finish it!" Kai said as Carvanha used Ice Fang and Hydro pump, knocking out Wurmple, now that the grunts were gone, Kai ran towards his friends, reuturning Carvanha.

Sammy continued to run, and soon ran into another peon. She could imagine that this one would be a bit tougher. The peon quickly released a Mightyena, and Sammy sighed. Squirt couldn’t battle, so she released Troy. The Mightyena bit Troy, and he responded by charging up a punch so powerful that the ground shook, and he released it on the foe. Mightyena staggered back, racing forward and slamming into Troy. All he had to do was punch it with an electric spark added to his fist, and the Mightyena fainted. Both sides returned their pokemon. The Peon released a Kirlia, and Sammy threw her pokeball into the air, calling, “Go, Dancer!” The Bayleef appeared, using Razor Leaf. Kirlia danced backwards, coming back by using Confusion. Dancer was sent to the ground, but got up and used… Grass Knot! The powerful attack wrapped up Kirlia, but that didn’t quite do the trick. Kirlia surrounded Dancer with a purple aura, and she found herself against the ground. Dancer got up and used Razor Leaf, fainting the opponent’s pokemon. With the last of his pokemon gone, the peon left and Sammy raced on towards the volcano, doubting she’d run into more opposition.

Ike's next challenge was at the treeline of the volcano, where the trees stopped growing and above him on the slope was only rocks and volcanic dirt. A Peon was guarding a path which would lead Ike up to the peak.
The peon spotted Ike with ease.
"Team Aqua?" He squinted his eyes. A mixed look of intimidation and annoyance came across him.
"That's right. This spit of land belongs to us!" Ike said. Swampert came running up, still burnt from his last battle.
The peon called out a Poochyena.
"Don't you guys ever train or something?" Ike asked sarcastically. "Swampert, use Mud Bomb!"
Swampert shot a blob of mud at the Poochyena, but the Poochyena managed to dodge it. Swampert was a little off from his burnt, taking small damage from it.
"Poochyena, use growl!" ordered the peon.
Poochyena growled at Swampert, lowering his attack.
"Swampert, use Water Gun!" Ike said. Swampert shot a blue stream of water at Poochyena, this time hitting with damage. Poochyena shook itself to dry its coat.
"Poochy, use bite!" the peon commanded.
Poochyena ran up at Swampert and bite down on his tail. Swampert yelled out "Ow! Ow! Get it off!" while running around.
"Swamp, use Take Down!" Ike though quickly. Since Poochyena was still clamped down on Swampert's tail, Swampert started running backwards and rammed his back into the side of a boulding, knocking the Poochyena out. Swampert took some recoil damage, along with damage from his burn.
"Good job Swamp." Said Ike, recalling his partner. He then called out Mantine. "Get ready, Mantine!" Ike said. Mantine put his game face on.
The peon called out a Graveler with a heal ball.
"Heh. Just caught this one." bragged the peon. Ike ignored the dumb comment and went on with the battle.
"Mantine, use Water Pulse!" Ike said.
Mantine sent rings of water at the Graveler, doing heavy damage. Graveler also become confused.
"Gah! Come on you stupid rock! Use Rock Smash!" he ordered.
Graveler, confused, still managed to hit its target. Mantine took the hit, knowing victory was near.
"Mantine, use one more Water Pulse!" Ike said. Mantine shot more rings of water at the Graveler, knocking it out.
"Water beats rock." Ike smirked at the peon.
"I'm not finished yet! Go, Zubat!" yelled the peon, calling out his last pokemon. "Supersonic!" he commanded.
Zubat located its foe and sent a screeching sound at Mantine. Now Mantine was the one confused.
"Mantine, use Psybeam!" Ike said. Mantine tried to concentrate, but failed and hurt himself instead.
"Ha-ha! Zubat, use Leech Life!" laughed the peon.
Zubat started to suck energy from Mantine. It was already at perfect health, though.
"Mantine, focus! Use Psybeam!" Ike repeated. Mantine this time succeeded and hit the Zubat with the psychic attack, doing heavy damage.
"Zubat, use Wing Attack!" said the peon.
The Zubat flew at Mantine, striking him with its wing. Mantine, without an order, used Bubble Beam, finishing off the zubat.
The peon recalled his pokemon and ran away.

"Good battled, Mantine." Ike complimented his partner. Mantine shook off his confusion. The celebration was short lived as two peons came running down after hearing the commotion. Both seemed relatively new to the team.
"An Aqua member!" one said, pulling out a poke ball. The other did the same. Ike was in for a double battle, calling out Gengar.
The two peons called out a Slugma and a Quilava.
"Mantine, use surf! Gengar, Shadow Ball the Quilava!" Ike said, expecting a short battle.
The other peons didn't even have time to call out their attacks as a wall of water came crashing down on the Slugma and the Quilava. Slugma was knocked out with one hit, but the Quilava survived.
"Quilava, use smoke screen!" one of the peons said.
Quilava surrounded itself with smoke screen before Gengar had a chance to fire his shadow ball at his target. When Gengar did, though, he missed completely.
"Quilava, Double-Edge!" said the peon. Gengar snickered as the normal-type attack went right through him and Quilava landed face-first in the dirt behind him. Ike couldn't help but laugh a little as well.
"Gengar, Shadow Ball!" he said.
Gengar, now having perfect sight of the Quilava, fired a ball of shadows. Quilava was knocked out and the two peons ran off.

"Easy enough." said Ike, returning Gengar and Mantine, making his way up to the Volcano's peak.
