*Aykon bows his head lightly and talks with a very dry voice.*

I don't like leaving everyone here...but I have a person on earth who needs me. Most of the people left in the past few days. Heh...Rhodes, my "love" left me a damn note...didn't even tell me to my face that she was getting married...but I started feeling this way long before she ever left. Synge and Fire are still around but they will be leaving soon too...



No, you don't have to worry about asking time off...it was an honor to meet you and work with you Nikki...thanks for helping me through all the good and bad times in the business...take off as long as you want. You might even talk to the new owner...I am sure he would love to have a good worker to start up the place.

*Aykon looked at the expression on Joey's face and heard the pain in Nikki's voice. He inhaled deeply and then started talking, he felt like he had told this same story to the whole world and each time it made him miss her more.*

Joey... Nikki...I never told you this...I didn't even tell anyone for their safety and for HER safety. I have a daughter...she's beautiful and only 3 years old. Her mother, my fiance before I became an Esper, was murdered by a demon while I...powerlessly...watched it. We had Shyla 2 years before that happened and I planned to marry Candace...but right before I did, I lost my job so we waited a while until UCLA hired me...then we had money to provide for her and for me and that ******** demon took Candace's life.

*Aykon grips the bar tightly as if it will support him.*

I watch Shyla, frozen in time, almost every day and when I do go back to see her, it has only been a few hours for her but I feel like it has been a lifetime... Also, once I leave here...Dueros will too...he won't ever bother anyone here again. He doesn't care about hurting others, just me. It's safer if I go.

(( That's cool, I am glad he feels better. I am only going to be on here for another two hours or so though. ))

*Aykon nods but his face looks pained.*

Yeah...I am glad I didn't have to be the one to end things, but what she did still hurts...of course she deserved to have another person...I am not a very good boyfriend.

*Despite his face, he smiles lightly and turns to the two of you.*

Good...you and Joey have a lot of catching up to do...where are you going?



I couldn't have asked for a better AM and friend Nikki. I do hope I can see you again in another place and time...

*He produces a small key and hands it to you.*

If you use this to get into my house on the hill and touch the globe there, you can come see me...just realize Earth is a scary place and I am nowhere near as well off there as I am here. But only do this if you want to. I love you Nikki...as a family...as a sister...and I hope that our time together was enough to give you many fond memories.



*Aykon happily takes the hug, he almost squeezes some of your breath out and then kisses your cheek.*

Thanks Nikki...it's been hard but I kept telling myself that things would get better if I stayed and they didn't. Shyla needs her daddy. Besides...this old world is better without having some crazy kook like Dueros added to the mix, at least on Earth there are more people like me to stop him. Of course, he's known as Felix there...

Of course it hurts, an end to any relationship is going to hurt. I don't think it's that she deserved someone better, just you two were not meant to be. Joey and I are going to visit his home world and spend some time there, after that, I don't know what the future holds for us.



She takes the key and tucks it away with her key to her own home on the hill.

If I can see you, will you be able to see me? I love you too, Aykon. No one is ever going to be able to replace the memories of the family I have here at the tavern.


She squeezes you just as hard before she releases you and returns to Joey's side, draping her arm around his shoulders again. Her tears have dried up mostly, though her eyes are still watery. Not knowing what to say, she simply stands there listening to your voice. Once Joey speaks, she nods in agreement.

That would be lovely to meet your daughter.

*Fire hears commotion downstairs and decides to check it out. She finds Nikki, Aykon, and Joey in the main room. She slips on her boots and and heads over to them*

So...you're leaving now?

*She blows a sigh of relief and smiles, something was different about her. She seemed a lil less mean*

Good then...make sure you say goodbye to me when you do!

*With that said, she heads back upstairs taking off her boots and back up into her room. It would seem that she only came down to make sure he was not leaving*

That seems like it would be best for everyone involved. I know I will enjoy Joey. I've learned to value what time we have with loved ones. Every moment is a precious treasure that can never be replaced.




I understand about the time. I do hope to see you again Aykon.

She smiles as fresh tears start to roll down her cheeks again. She watches Fire come in and go back upstairs without being able to tell her goodbye. She leans into Joey's embrace when he hugs her.

Well, tell Fire and Synge I'll miss them and I hope I'll see them in the future, will you? I think it best we go before we stand here crying all night, hmm? Joey and I are going to stop into my office and remove what I have left in there, then we'll be off. Take care of yourself, Aykon.
