Because I'm greedy. If I'm going to take my perverted thief's life and turn it into a harem I want it to be the biggest freakin' harem this guild will ever see! Girls from every village will recognize me when I enter through the gates and I'll romance every girl worth the time until the hearts of ALL of the world's kunoichi belong to ME! xd Muahahahaa!
Don't get me wrong though Chihiro will eventually settle down with someone and commit himself to a serious relationship. Its not like he's gonna be a womanizer forever, but thats what makes it so fun! I don't know which girl out there will become Chihiro's main girl of interest, so every meeting is like a new romantic adventure. Wait, that doesn't make me a man-whore does it? >.>
