I got a tiny plastic bag out and put the ice in. Smashing the ice into tiny pices, I made sure that there weren't any opening in the bag. "Here you go." I walked over and gave her the bag. "Make sure you don't keep it on there for too long. You could hurt it more than help it. If it starts to get too cold, take it off."
I glanced at her. "What about the Glacier propted you to get an apartment? I mean...that fighting doesn't involve where you live I would think."

"Thank you, Silver." She crossed her legs and reluctantly pressed the bag onto her ankle. To her surprise, it wasn't that bad. Well this is stupid..I'm so cold I can't tell! ZOMBIE! Shut the blazes up. She rolled her eyes.
Fate ponders the question for a moment. "Well..I can't tell you, honestly." Her face twitched in thought. "I suppose it was the thought that no Lycan could've gotten in there..Hai, that's it." It wasn't wise to tell him how she had felt the first night she'd gotten the apartment. It's not like her feelings on the subject mattered anymore. The Glacier was gone, and Heaven knows where I'zale got to.

"Is the ice helping at all?" I asked her. "If it isn't then you should stop because I don't know how long too long is for a vampire. So..." I trailed off.
"Ha...yeah, that would make sense. Of course...with this stupid war going to happen, who knows anymore?" I realized that this would be a bad topic to talk about, so I quickly changed it. "So do you ever sleep in your apartment or do you stay here?"

Fate lifted the bag, examining the now red and lessend blue ankle. "Some swelling has passed, hai." She grinned and returned the bag.
Fate nodded somewhat sadly. "I suppose we're bound to find out."
"Hm?" She blinked and turned to face him. "I've spent one night in the Coven; The night I got the apartment." She toyed with a nail, focusing her attention on it. She didn't seem to keen on this discussion either. "It's just two different environments.."

I took the bag and went to put it in the freezer. I came back and sat down on the couch next to her. "So I guess the Coven environment doesn't really work out that well for you, huh? The same for me. Club FM...just isn't a place I like to hang out at. For various reasons." I remembered the meetings and other events that had happened there. They all seemed so...distant now, like they were a part of someone else's life. Instead of mine.

Her foot seemed to sigh in reliefe. "Ah.." Fate smiled when Silver sat by her. She took his hand in her hand and cuddled his arm warmly, though he was the only warmth between them. "Well, being a loner for so long does tend to take its toll on a person." Fate shrugged. "I don't know the elders, I don't really fit in, and few acknowlege that I even exist. It's better to just blend in with the New York night crowd." She kissed his shoulder softly. "But it's nice to know I have another home to run to, if need ever be." That horrible nightmare came flashing back to her. The fire, rubble, smoke..screams. And those men..who were they? Fate shuddered. And running..something she couldn't do.

I smiled when she took my hand. "Yeah...its not too great being alone, but now we don't have to be. Right? Now we have each other and there are others who are friends to the both of us. You can't truly say that you are alone anymore..at all. Okay?" I squeezed her hand gently. Then, I felt her shudder. I had done that multiple times before and I knew it was from bad memories. "That part of your life, whatever it entails, is gone and over with now. You helped me realize that about my past, now you need to believe it for yourself. I can tell when someone is plagued by bad nightmares. You're not alone anymore, believe in that." I leaned against her as I said this.

Fate shrugged. "It never seemed to bother me.." Her tone became softer and softer, her eyes heavier. Still she listened as intently as possible while Silver spoke. She nodded and agreed in "Mhm"s and whatnot as best she could.
It had been such a terribly long night. Her conscious mind continued to slip further and further away from reality. Fate smiled weakly when he spoke of being with her, and helping him. "I believe..it.." She was at a whisper now. Her eyes slipped shut and her pale face fell limp.
Why did she have that dream? It came only twice to date..Did it mean something significant? It hadn't happened, which is why she never spoke of it. Silver must've thought she was reliving the past. Her past was nothing special. Nothing traumatizing had happened. Unless something like the dream did affect her, it was nothing more than thought..a mere Nightmare in the vagueness of retire. Snuggling into his arm, she pressed her soft, pouty lips together, and her breath came soft and hushed. Fate was asleep.

I smiled as she leaned against me, underneath my arm. I straightened her hair for a moment, pulling on individual strands with my fingers, and then I leaned my head against my arm, right above hers. "I'm...glad...that you...do," I whispered. I then fell into a soft, dreamless sleep.

The bombs..The sirens..Screaming..A way out! Free..free from the smolder.. "DON'T MOVE!"
Fate jolted forward in another cold sweat. She glanced at Silver nervously. He had turned so his arm slipped down her back; She shouldn't have awakened him. Shaking somewhat, she took a glance at her foot. It seemed back to normal, with the acception of slight discolouration. "Damn dream.." Fate muttered and stood. Walking back through her bedroom and into the bathroom, she ran cold water into the sink. Cupping her hands, Fate splashed the water all over her pale, moist face. It helped. After wiping her face with a towel and returning it to the rack, Fate rested her palms on each side of the sink and stood there for a few moments. "Why me?"

While Fate was gone, my arm slowly slid down the couch until I finally fell over, onto my side on the couch. I was instantly awake and I saw that Fate wasn't next to me. I felt a moment of panic, thinking that something horrible had happened to her, when I heard her voice in the bathroom. I sighed in relief and got up off of the couch. Now I know I am paranoid. Maybe a little too much so. Oh well. I went to the bedroom door, but didn't go any farther than that. "Fate?" I said. I had stayed in the doorway to her bedroom when I called to her. The water had been running when I had woken up, but she had turned it off. Maybe she had a nightmare or something...thats how a person would act if they did.

Fate heard Silver wake up. When he called her, she turned and peered around the bathroom doorway. "I'm in here, Silver." She walked into her bedroom and smiled. "Gomen Love, I didn't mean to wake you." Fate walked a little closer; Close enough that she was looking up to him.

"Its alright. I'm a light sleeper anyways. I was worried that something had happened to you. I'm just crazy sometimes." I smiled. "Anyways, is something wrong? Did you not sleep well?" I could tell from her face that she had indeed had a nightmare. It was obvious in parts of her facial expression.

Fate nodded, slightly relieved it wasn't her fault. She giggled at his being crazy.
At the mention of problems, Fate lowered her eyebrows. "Nien. Nothing is the matter." She allowed one arm to hang limp and she rubbed it with her other palm. "I slept alright..Just a sudden awakening, that's all." An absolute expression was on her face, unwavering. Fate really didn't want Silver to know about the tragic visions in her mind. "Sugoi, I'm alright."

(We're obviously going to assume its night again and the sun is going down, right?)
"You know you can talk to me about anything. I just wish...sometimes that you would." I turned around and went to look out the window. The sun was hidden behind the city buildings and night was coming. I sighed and looked over at her. "Why is it that, though it seems we're getting closer, I feel like we're drifting apart in other aspects? I just...don't understand." Everything is perfect, yet it isn't. Whats wrong with me? I seem to ruin everything.
