@ Aku:
That is NOT GW legal, though its acceptable by the "is this ok?" rule for playing with friends. Currently, Dark Angels and Blood Angels are SEPARATE CODICES with their own individual points costs and rules. A lot of the things that were in DA, though (cheaper Rhinos, combat squads, etc.) have made their way into the new Marine 'Dex. So...
You cannot mix and match from Codex: Space Marines and Codex: Dark Angels.

neutral Well from looking at the differences between the codexies I'll prolly just stick with DA coloured SM since there really isn't anything too majorly different like there was when DA was a supplement. Personally, I think that the special chapters should be like the old ones, SM with some differences. Since they changed Stubborn and DA doesn't get it anymore, I'll prolly just field a SM army as normal and throw in some DA stuff when doing games with friends or something.

Dark Angels were not a "supplement," Aku. They were their own effing Codex. Therefore, they could not and cannot be used together as a "supplement" system like the Space Wolves codex.

I must correct you on that one: Dark Angels USED to be a supplement codex, NOW they are their own "effing" codex.
And indeed, it´s not GW legal, but pretty much DA, BA and BT player are either forced or should break this rule with the new SM codex. It either would or will cause disadvantages or advandages to either one or all of the codex, simply because unit rules + stats and gear rules are different.
But since us players don´t have any power over it (expect ask friends if it´s allowed), we´ll just have to wait and see what´s GW´s decision on this matter. It´s their headache and it´s their words that is ultimate.

To clarify something from GW: The BT and DA codex books will NOT be using anything from the new SM codex. There will be a FAQ for both armies in due time, but this does not mean that they will suddenly get 3+ invulnerable saves for their thunder shields etc.

Very true. Its actually in the rules that users should refrain from making a post entirely with emoticons.

Guess what? There's a new Dark Angels FAQ out! Guess what? It's got a bit on using stuff from the new SM Codex! Guess what? It tells you to figure it out amongst yourselves. (For the record, I happen to think it's actually quite a spiffy idea. )
