We'll see if I'll be able to sleep in tomorrow or not. They are supposed to be re-roofing my place starting tomorrow morning. So, we'll see how noisy they are. *sighs*

As he grabbed his cup of coffee from the vendor, his phone rang. He looked down seeing her name appear on the screen.
"Hey there, sweetheart," he said, as he answered it. "I've put you on speaker phone. What's up?"
"Just got into town. So thankful I decided to park at the airport and take the light rail instead of trying to find parking up here. Still can't get over the prices they are asking."
"Yeah, it's become the new norm around here," he said. Setting his coffee down and pulling out a flask from inside his jacket where he had stashed some Irish Cream into. It had become his new favorite thing. "Where you at? Anywhere particular you want to meet up?"
"My knowledge of Seattle is pretty limited. So, how about Pike Market?"
"My old haunting grounds," he chuckled. "Okay. I'll be there in about 10."
"Perfect. I should be there around then too."

John pulled her unconscious body towards him. His heart broke seeing the woman who always seemed so brave and strong lay in his arms like a sleeping child.
"Please," he whispered. "Let her be. She does not need to get involved in this. Whatever you want, take from me. Don't make her suffer for something I was responsible for getting her into."
"You would sacrifice yourself for this woman?" replied the demon. "I've heard stories about you. You did the same for your wife. You really think you're getting lucky by having another demon accept the same offer?"
Tears rolled down his cheeks. "She does not deserve this fate. I am the one who got her into this mess."
The demon hummed in thought. "You are one lucky son of a b*tch. I'll let this slide this one time. But don't expect me - or any other demon - from now on offer such courtesy in the future."
John sucked in a ragged breath as the demon disappeared in a blink of an eye.
"John?" called a weak voice.
John looked down almost breaking down once again seeing her green eyes looking up at her with concern.
"I'm so sorry," she said. "I didn't mean to-"
He pulled her up into a hug.
"I know. It's okay," he said. "Everything's going to be okay."

I do plan on looking into whether I have shifts on who I'm obsessing over at the same time of year each time or not. 'Cause I feel like I've done it with JDM (and TWD in general).
