 Almost done with my shift... and this weekend. *sighs* Boy has this weekend been a clusterf*ck. I'm going to be so glad when it's over with.

I checked out the local pride event. It was neat to see how its expanded on the number of vendors participating. I didn't spot any friends among the performers. I was a bit disappointed about that but I haven't seen them participating in the past couple years, so it's possible they've moved on from being involved with the event. I did come away with a few goodies.

It would have been cool if I got to go along with my coworkers and residents but timing wise with another activity I'm in charge of, it wasn't going to work out. At least not this year. Maybe we'll arrange for me to be able to go with them next year, if they do it again.

I'm excited about hosting my first event for our local Critter group. But at the same time I'm going "What if no one comes?!" Especially there hasn't been much response from the regular folks I'm familiar with. *shrugs* Oh well. At least I'm attempting to get us active again.

"Seriously, you called yourselves the Saviors?" chuckled the man. "Why? Because you thought you were saving others?"
Negan just stared at the man with annoyed silent glare.
"That's basically what we did," piped in Lila. "Saved people. Hunted those things." She gestured towards the distant groans of Walkers. "It became like a family business."
The man stared at her as if he was trying to figure her out.
"I admit our methods of going about things wasn't the greatest," commented Negan quietly. "But we got stuff done. A lot more I can say for some other folks I knew."
"You were part of the Saviors?" asked the man to Lila.
"You sound surprised," replied Lila. "How do you think I learned how to take care of myself? How to be the badass that I am?"
The man glanced over towards Negan. "Even back then you were with him?" He looked back at Lila. "And you came back to be with him after all that?"
"He's my husband," said Lila. "It's sort of expected."
"But -"
Lila leaned forward, frowning at the man. "Let's get one thing straight. Were the Saviors terrible and did bad things? Sure. Some folks took power a bit too far. But in a world like this, you have to do what you can to survive. And despite all of that darkness, there's still possibility for light to shine. For hope. For... love."
Negan smirked softly at this.
"What can I say?" said Lila, smiling. "Negan is one attractive man."

"Why did you agree to join back up with me?" asked Negan, looking over at Lila as they walked along the road. "After everything we went through together, you still came back."
"I had bounced around multiple groups before I was brought into the Sanctuary. They always thought they knew what they were doing. Had everything made for them. But in the end, they always got themselves into situations way over their head... and often lost their head in the progress - in one way or another. The Saviors? Sure, they had questionable morals and approaches to tense situations... but you all kept me alive longer than any of those other groups could have," said Lila.
"That's it?" said Negan. "You just survived longer than expected?"
"Well..." said Lila, as she smirked. "There was there was this guy..."
"A guy, hmm?" said Negan, returning the smile.
"What can I say? He made quite the impression."
