Bakura nodded, smiling faintly. " 'Course. I'll be stealing, though, so I can't guarantee some angry shopkeeper would throw something at me. I'll be fine." "Mmm, Bakura might not like that. Or he might like that too much." Seto teased, wrapping his arms around her. He didn't like the thought of Bakura possibly liking Ayira in that way, but he was sure he didn't have to worry. As far as he could tell, Bakura was completely and utterly bound to Rei.

"Aside from the other people who live here, this place isn't that bad." Seto murmured, completely distracted by Ayira. He seemed completely captivated by her. It had just been so long since he last saw her that he couldn't stand it. "We could go swimming later... Do you like to swim?"

[Just gonna post this to get it over with, so Bakura's not in anybody's way. Plus I'm bored. The time that passes here doesn't affect the rest of the roleplay at all. Not until later.]
Bakura had left, after getting a bag he thought would be big enough. The sun wasn't up yet, and he decided that there was enough moonlight to see by until the sun actually rose. He was hoping to get back home before too late, though. Midday at latest. He got on the horse Seto had used, almost feeling sorry for the beast. He should probably get another horse, so that this one wasn't being used to often. At least it was a fairly sensible and tame animal. It had learned the way to the oasis, in the very least.
He petted the horse's neck before heading off into the desert, going slow at first but soon breaking into a full gallop. Hmph. Midday? At this pace, he should be back for breakfast. He felt himself dozing off as he rode, though, and wondered if perhaps he hadn't woken up a bit too early. He wondered if Seto and that woman had gone back to sleep. They were probably making out. He didn't want them having sex, though. The woman would get pregnant, and Seto would want to stay longer because it wouldn't be safe to move with her in that condition. Bakura wanted them gone before any kind of family could be made. Which was why he was so intent on their practicing abstinence.
Bakura was slightly surprised to arrive at the town in an hour or so. He dismounted at the town's outskirts, taking a hold of the horse's reins and leading it quietly behind him. Nobody was up yet, and Bakura didn't regret his time of waking up. Now, all he had to do was find a good enough place to get food from...
The horse suddenly stopped, and wouldn't budge. Bakura turned, frowning, and tugged on the reins, trying to get it to move along. The damned beast still didn't move, and in fact took a few steps backwards. Bakura growled slightly, digging his heels into the sand and pulling sharply. "Come on, you stupid--" He grumbled, when he heard a sound to his left. He let go of the horse, whirling around, fumbling for his knife.
Bakura's wrist was grabbed with a bruising force and twisted sharply, with a sharp snapping sound. Bakura had been unable to see his attacker and was further prevented by a sharp knee being driven into his stomach. He tasted blood as he doubled over, his free arm wrapping around his middle. His knife had already fallen to the ground, but the attacker hadn't released his wrist. He could feel more than see someone push against him from behind, resting their chin on his shoulder and pressing their cheek to his. Lips brushed his ear as the person spoke. "Hello, lover. Missed me?" Mariku whispered in Bakura's ear. He could feel the thief stiffen and then quickly struggle to fight back. Mariku had been glad to have the advantage of utter surprise over Bakura, giving him little time to react to this. He didn't plan on giving Bakura a chance to fight back at all. Shortly after speaking, Mariku used his free arm to catch Bakura in a choke hold, pressing against his windpipe to cut off air.
Bakura continued to struggle until he eventually passed out, sagging forward, his entire body gone limp. Mariku smirked, removing his hand from Bakura's throat, holding the thief's body up. If he really set his mind to it, Mariku could get things done quickly. He was glad that he had been able to take care of this in, well, record time. Looking around, he realized that Bakura's horse had bolted, but that was fine. He had his own he could ride on. There was no way he would stay in this town, especially since it was so close to the oasis. He tossed Bakura over his shoulder, moving slowly along the narrow street to locate his own horse.

"That's good." Seto thought he had heard Bakura talking before he left-- maybe Rei was awake? Or the thief could have just been talking to himself. "Maybe we should go meet Rei first, though."

Seto accepted the help, though he didn't really think he needed it-- until he slipped on the puddle of water and had to cling to Ayira to make sure he didn't fall. He laughed nervously, letting go of her. "I, uh, lost my footing."

Seto smiled slightly, taking a hold of Ayira around her waist. "Come on. I'm not even sure if Rei is awake. If not, we can continue this..." He left the room, tugging on her to lead her along. He paused in the main bedroom's doorway, peering inside.

Seto waved a little, making sure to be quiet in case the twins were still sleeping. "Good morning, Rei. Has Bakura left already?"

Seto glanced at Ayira, trying to think of how he might introduce her. "Yes, this is Ayira. She's the one who threw poison in Bakura's eyes, if I remember correctly. Your dear friend Mariku almost killed her."
