"Killing time." She grinned happily at him. "Technically, there's not supposed to be a lot of that left." She leaned forward and started talking a little more softly.

"There's trouble on the way y'know...but hell," She stood and walked a few paces back and forth, kicking up small waves, and speaking normally again.

"Why waste what you have left, right?"

"What do you mean by trouble?" Leon asked because he was wondering if something terrible was about to happen.

"Ah! Shhh! What, do you want people to panic? Whisper!" She waved her hands frantically, then placed one on her hip. "It's nothing really, no need to rush."

She blinked and then smiled politely. "I'm called Sam, whats your name?"

'My name is Leon. It's nice to meet you Sam." Leon replied with a grin.

She nodded, as if that had been the name she'd been looking for.

"Well Leon, let me tell you, I've seen some strange things lately, you'd be surprised! But first, tell me who've you been fighting? You looked a little mopey when you first came up to me, did it not go well?"

She did the little head tilt again, looking him over. "You DID say the other guy was unconscious, right? That sounds like a win!"

"It has no name! That thing has no name, but it probably means the rival of them, but they need a new leader since the last leader was just pretending to there side." Suddenly the ground started shaking and it wasn't any earthquake no this was to localized it was like something huge was right below them.

Okay, check it out, its like this...

On a little boat - a small one, sort of like a row boat, in horrible condition - Tzenidaar came into the harbour. Nobody had seen the man for a while now, and he looked pretty damn dishevelled. His clothes were in bad condition, with tears and holes, stains and dirt, but his face appeared pretty clean, sort of like patchy stubble or something; his facial hair just grew slowly for some reason, otherwise, he'd probably have some beard.

As soon as the little boat got close to the docks, he stood up in the craft, hoisting that large slab of metal he called a sword onto one shoulder, displacing its balance as it began to rock and tilt against the waves. It was almost surprising that he hadnt sunk carrying that thing on the rickety little boat of his.

And once he was close enough, he stepped off the water craft and onto pristine wooden planks, kicking off the boat and sending it drifting away from the artificial surface of the docks.

Hold on...

He scratched his stomach with his free hand and snorted, gathering flegm in the back of his throat before he spat to the side into the sea.

Wonderful, aint it? Well, it certainly didnt seem like his manners have changed.

And then he let out a great yawn as he began strolling into the city, wondering if there was anything worth doing around this place. Why? Because he had recently taken up the mercenary business; jobs for money.

Oh hey, what? Nobody stopped him do lecture him about his bad manners, or tell him to do something with that crummy boat, or question him about his presence here, or strip search him like some paranoid city which treats every single person that decides to stroll in like border crossing guards?

Awesome. Seemed like Latent was a place where he could do whatever the hell he felt like. So he just went through the wooden planks and strolled into the streets.

Alright, stop.

HAMMERTIME.

No. No hammertime.

He suddenly had this fleeting thought that he forgot something. Now what the hell was it?

Tzenidaar, that b*****d! He actually had the nerve to try and ditch her at this point and time.

Ardielle made her way off the barge onto dry land, nearly running as she made her way off the boat. She had awoken the night before and found that the chimera had disappeared; taken one of the small rowboats in the middle of the night to head off on his own, leaving her to pay for their passage by herself.

If not for the captain's assurance that the nearest land structure was the ports of Latent, and that was the only place he could go, she would have taken a boat of her own to persue him, though she wouldnt know how.

Her loose shirt billowed lightly in the autumn breeze and her leather slacks revealed her shapely legs just fine as they moved to carry her quickly through the docks of the port town. Of course, not before paying the captain their passage fee.

In the past few months following the man, she had cut her hair short, almost boyish looking, and carried a single longsword at her hip rather than several knives and a shortsword.

Still fuming, she caught sight of him; those monsterous skeletal wings, and that giant cleaver he called a weapon poking out from the heads of the crowd, and quickly made her way towards him.

"b*****d! Where do you think you're going?" She called out, not ten feet distant from him as she slowed her pace.

Oh... right. The woman.

She had followed him for quite a while, learning to fight and all that from him. Well actually, it was more along the lines of him dragging her along through his mercenary campaign because she was too stubborn to give up on her own. Haha, look at her once long hair, now shorn, lining her pretty face like some tomboy.

Where was he going? Wherever he wanted. Actually, he didnt know - didnt really care either.

Well, he recognized that voice of hers, and without turning around to answer her questing, he just sort of shrugged and muttered 'Iunno.'

Suppose he should feel bad about leaving the boat like that. But it wasnt like he was really trying to ditch her. They were just moving too slow for his tastes, and it was boring there being confined on a floating thing surrounded by water.

"You're suppose to be teaching me to fight." she called back at his non-chalant attitude, more than a little hint of annoyance in her voice. All he had been doing for the past few months was drag her around the world doing odd jobs and fighting random battles, and Ardielle was tired of it.

...

Well lets begin then. Why not, seemed as good of a time as any, minus the pedestrians on the streets and all. But whatever.

His right hand went up to his left, grasping the hilt of the giant cleaver as his right foot slid back a bit, spreading his weight out between his legs. And then he simply unwound, pullng the weapon down in front of himself as his feet planted and his legs turned, swinging his body around in a clockwise fashion, dragging the meat cleaver through the air with it.

Well, safe to say, he did it sort of slowly, because like, pedestrians and stuff. had to let them get out of the way, even though most were already out of the way due to his presence alone. Either he was giving off bad vibes, or maybe a bad smell, or people just didnt like the way he looked. One of those three or something.

When Tzenidaar's hand went up to grasp the hilt of the sword, Ardielle already knew what was coming next. Travelling with him did teach her a few things, such as his habits and the way he carried himself, the little things which gave off subtle clues to his actions, and also, the devastating effectiveness of the odd weapon which shatters stone and shreds through steel plates as if it were nothing more than a tin can.

When he began to swing the weapon, she was already moving out of its way. A few months ago and she would have probably screamed in surprise as it flew by, inches away from cutting her thread of life in half, but now, you could say she was used to it, not to mention the speed of which he swung it certainly did not mean that he was actually serious about trying to kill her. But that didnt help her mood one bit.

"What in the blazes was that for?" She scolded him, in the middle of the street, ignoring the confused looks of people nearby.
PostPosted: Sun Oct 14, 2007 9:37 pm

Finish that swing, because with something that big, chances are its not going to stop just because he wanted it to. At least he didnt swing it hard or anything.

He shrugged.

Time to bullshit his way out of a lecture. Quick, think of something. Wait. okay. Got it.

"Seemed like you have good enough reflexes to move away from that fast enough. See, wandering around with someone as totally awesome as me will teach you a thing or two." Note that he left out the 'uhhhh...' thinking sound in the beginning to make it sound authentic and not like he was making something up on the spot.

This is where he puts on a fake smile, turns around, and starts wandering off. Y'know, before she can question the speed and strength he put into that swing to expose that it would have been a poor excuse for a practise attack.

Tzenidaar answered her question so quickly that she herself had little time to think on it, barely soaking in the words as she hurried to catch up to his quick escape.

Ardielle found this situation sort of odd herself, how she would follow after him when she was clearly the one which handled their expenses. In fact, all their money was controlled by her, the brute having made it clear before that he didnt care too much about carrying his money himself, though he loved to make it. The contridiction was simply so vexing.

So why did she continue to follow him around when quite simply, he needed her around more than she needed him around?

Ardielle trailed after Tzenidaar quietly in contemplation, finally coming to the conclusion that she had to admit that he was growing on her. His bad attitude, rude mannerism, and provocative nature was something she was accustomed to after having been dragged around by the chimera on his... 'adventures'.

They were back in civilisation now, not in some wild untamed land where danger could come out of anywhere. Why was she following him at the moment? This was something more familiar to her than sleeping on the ground next to a dying campfire.

Not to mention, he would probably find her if he really wanted to. And he'd better, he still had things to teach her, or so she would believe. With hardly a word she waded off into the crowd inot the city. First order of business was to locate a place of residence. And then she would go around the city, taking in the sights and examining the vendors's wares.

It felt good to live like a person again, not like some wild animal.
