I spoke on the phone to my new director today. He seems pretty cool and my friend who met him says he's really nice in person. I hope he's not just being nice now and as soon as band start, transform into the devil. eek Haha, I hope not.

That would suck, yes.
We've discovered that Hartmetz gets more strict/mean every season. And, sadly, this transferrs over to the middle school occassionally so...there's a lot of the freshmen who aren't doing marching band or band in general because of it. It's not good.
But he's not a bad guy as long as you don't make him mad. 3nodding

[ ]If D hadn't gotten hired, there was a possibility that we could've had a female band director. I wonder what marching would've been like with a female band director...

Hm...
Our middle school director was the asst. director for a few years until she decided to help out her fiancee(now husband)'s school's band. Which happens to be one of our rival schools. >>
So now we have this totally awesome dude. 3nodding
EDIT: I was lurking here the other day and I noticed a lot of repeat 'band stories' threads.
Maybe we should just make a sticky for it and end the repeatness?

I was playing a trivia game with my friend earlier today and I was doing a Beatles question list for her...
The quote given to figure out the song was this:

or something along those lines.
