No. The letters stay in their same place. They are just changed into other letters to form the word.

AriaofRevelations also you cannot use a odachi as a spear...well, they serve similar ceremonial purposes....but a spear requires a mid shaft grip and hip based force, especially if you're trying to hit a mounted opponent.some other spear forms require an almost staff like handling....personally i like the old japanese "sliding spears" but that's just me. No I mean the Nodachi, a field sword, not the Odachi. The Nodachi was designed to be used against cavalry and open field battles, but the Naginata and Nagamaki in my opinion were definitely better suited for that role. I did some research on them a few months back while doing some writing. took me forever to remember all the proper names.

sorry, i had assumed you, like everyone else, had used the term wrong. ancient nodachi were a little over 3 feet... sorry...i had thought you were using the term incorrectly like most modern american users of the word....nodachi can be thrown, they can be used against mounted foes....they can be used to slaughter horses...like a spear....but compared to the naginata, which served all of the same purposes, they were less useful....but naginata were squandered as woman's weapons...stupid people.

"You just don't get it do you? I'm not stuck here with you! You're stuck in here with me!" *appears from a purple fire* I like my purple fire... "One more word and we'll cut out your eyes! One more time left to say your goodbyes, so say em! We cannot stop the Bad Blood!"

That's okay, not very many people bother to use the right names, and usually just say Katana.
