I don't believe it... after so many hits and kills with a blade-type weapon my Blade skill didn't increase once during my completion of the first part of the Glenvar Castle Quest! WTF! And those Vampires were about 15 levels or more above my own...! and I was level 1... O_O How did many people manage to level up at all in the game... must be easier in the Xbox version? Or maybe it was because my Buster Sword and my Masamune have very high attack ratings... they are higher than Umbra when you get it without mastered Blade and repaired to 125... O_O

back. testing went well as all testing does.
@chrystal with a sword that size the handle will also be bigger.... if you use both hands like you are supposed to for a great sword or 70" then you won't swing it. swinging swords like that is a mistake, you have to use your front hand to support weight (which is only like 8 lbs anyways, but it will feel like more if you aren't used to it/holding it wrong.), and use the back hand to pivot the sword at the fulcrum, the blades weight will carry the blow, unless it's horizontal then you use slight body rotation....that's for normal attacks so it doesn't become a burden to fight with. you don't want to be in a sword fight with a long sword anyways...that's why they are long. you are supposed to kill your opponent before they get close enough to matter.... don't ever block passed halfway up the blade....it hurts....unless you take a hand of the tsuka....then you're f'd for the followup....which hurts even with wood.
the way sepheroth does it is unrealistic, because he doesn't keep both hands on the sword....that would but stress on his wrist when he swings....
(not an expert....i took like less than a month of iado...which is useless for swords of this size....and used to go to amateur tournaments for sword fighting with various sized swords... amateur is the real term there...basically let's hit each other with sticks for a day......)

You are forgetting that in Final Fantasy... Sephiroth had inhuman strength due to Jenova... allowing him to wield Masamune in a single hand... plus it is a game... I was just complaining about the massive lack of massive fatigue draining with each swing because he was spamming forward power attacks like every millisecond... and those terms... are confusing me.
Also, here is a little tidbit of information for you. I learnt this in Physics. Mass is the actual weight of an object due to its density and type of matter that makes it up. However, Weight is actually the total force due to gravity acting upon the object's mass. So if you think about it, if there was no gravity or barely any gravity (The force of gravity normally is 9.8 m/s/s downwards until you get near the centre of the earth where it is increased to 12.something m/s/s) then we could basically wield anything at all.... Gravity is basically a force of acceleration, and acceleration is a vector (which is a measurement with both a magnitude (the numeral value) and a direction (such as North 36 degrees East)) where as Scalar units such as length and width just have a magnitude XD

The Nodachi is still hard to wield none the less. Although I personally I still like how it was used, poor horses, lol.
Masamune would be awesome to have, but a b**** to wield in combat unless you used it like a spear. I want to get a scaled replica just to hang it on the wall, although I don't think it'd fit in my room, lol.

i took physics as well, but i've used one of those swords for form practice before, and the weight in a swing is not an issue i was mostly thinking in terms of how i was told to swing it and how it feels....not so much the actual physics....i know i used physics terminology, but that was just an almost quote of an old instructor.. (i didn't use the sharpened odachi in a fight....i use bokken mostly for those....not the same...i also really...really don't recommend using one in combat. traditionally they were used in two man pairs either both using one sword or one attacking with the odachi and a second to rush in and finish it if it gets blocked....neither is practical. also, from personal experience with a blade that long you have to block within a foot of the tsuba or it counterbalances you....so you might as well use a shorter sword. the swords are mainly practice for sword smiths since maintaining appropriate blade symmetry is harder the longer the blade. if the sword is not symmetrical....it gets stuck in the dummy.....and that's annoying....somehow this interrupting statement became longer than the comment itself.) i collect swords and one of my good friends from Texas's dad owned a sword shop.
also you cannot use a odachi as a spear...well, they serve similar ceremonial purposes....but a spear requires a mid shaft grip and hip based force, especially if you're trying to hit a mounted opponent.some other spear forms require an almost staff like handling....personally i like the old japanese "sliding spears" but that's just me.

so all s' are d....are the letters in each section part of that word...or are the letters moved from their individual words into different spacing arrangements?
