You'd think if someone was going to try and whip you at close range they'd grab a part of the whip, pull it tight, then wrap it around your wrist when you tried to punch and pull you forwards off balance, sending you stumbling a couple of feet as they back up so they could return to their default whip stance at an appropriate range.
But what the ******** do I know.

Evilgenetics Lavelle Esculentus Seems to me that if your opponent is close enough for you to punch him in the face, there would not be enough room to even use a whip effectively. People kept telling me this when I was discussing strategy with them. They said I was crazy to roll with it. There's a difference between being a good sport and being a p***y, my friend.

Old Man KB You'd think if someone was going to try and whip you at close range they'd grab a part of the whip, pull it tight, then wrap it around your wrist when you tried to punch and pull you forwards off balance, sending you stumbling a couple of feet as they back up so they could return to their default whip stance at an appropriate range. But what the ******** do I know. Well see, the thing about stumbling with him is that stumbling is just a synonym for completely stopped or something, no issues of balance here. But he rages at the idea that you might be arguing semantics.. But really, it depends on the whip. Some whips are designed to be effective at close and long ranges, just by different means of attack. But as he stated, it's impossible to properly wield a whip at 6 feet lol.

...not that you really need to handle it "properly" when you're spitting out ENERGY BLADES.
That being said I could probably stack KB's PHANTOOM SLASHU on that defensive move I just did, but spinning around in a circle and sending out a 30ft ripple of destructive force sounds a bit OP.

Is it really OP or is your opponent just a p***y?

I'm going to build Shen as a mage/ tank next. See how far I can take his Vorpal Blade ability.

No, it's OP. KB can effectively make a Phantom Slash any time he swings his wings around. ( I guess it doesn't specify the weapon, but I digress )
Though on that point, I can probably say that his spinning is a motion of his body and he only drags his wings, so he can't phantom slash, but its really an iffy point.
That being said, yes, it's OP to just spin in circles every round moving towards your enemy, threatening to cut them in half if they get within 30ft of you.

Vintrict I'm going to build Shen as a mage/ tank next. See how far I can take his Vorpal Blade ability. If you use Feint a lot then its excellent, since Feint has a 1/1 ap scale ratio.

Hey wait, he covered his face.
Does that mean he runs into the death top and I win? lololololol. I'm being a jerk. Iden's actually been a lot cooler then I expected, for a DeSeer.

I suppose, but to balance it you can easily add controls to it. Like for my character, it can only be done with a weapon, it can be effectively stopped by armor, and the power is greatly reduced after a period of short distances. Tack on substantial costs for the ability to limit spamming and you now have a pretty balanced but powerful tool to throw out.
I think the only unfair thing about those kind of attacks is that they are, or should be invisible, because that's just how energy attacks are. But I mean if all it means to balance them in that respect in giving them color, can't see much about complaining.
When you have all those limits set in place and somebody is gonna keep on complaining that it's OP because they ran into it, well...
But hey, spinning in circles like that until you puke or something, I dunno if vampires do that, doesn't seem like bad strategy. Really, the ability isn't so hard to avoid if they know it's coming, and yours has a pretty big start up from what I remember with the Ertai fight.

Fierach Did Damnatus go "Just as planned!" If not. Go back to step 2. If so, it was worth it. I think it was more along the lines of "surprise, cockfags!" Lollipop Fiend You know what sounds stupid to me? Having a scary back round.

I don't say KB's is invisible so to speak, I just say its a distortion of air that is really hard to spot. It would mostly depend on the angle how easily you'd be able to spot it, and your reflexes since it should be moving fairly fast.
The way I have his phantom slash designed is that it carries the same strength as the initial attack up to a max range of 30ft, where it dissipates entirely. It is only blocked or affected by armor to the same degree as the initial attack would be.
It's eh. I probably won't use it very much.
