Syrens Song
Adie yawned as she walked out of her room, still dressed in her pajamas. Running her fingers back through her hair, she tossed her mission statement onto the counter for someone to read, disappearing back into her room a moment later for some more sleep. A small smile graced her lips as she thought about the previous day before collapsing back into bed.

MISSION- Shiny researchers
There's a new lab that can make your pokemon shiny! So go try it out!! You'll just have to battle the scientist who will give you a hard time!
Items:
Pick any of your pokemon to make shiny
Money: 300-1000 Cody noticed the mission on the board and took it off, read it, wrote his comments and posted it back up with the rewards.
I think this is a pass. A few things I would like to point out though.
Grammar: Remember there are two different forms of its. It's is a combination of it and is. Its is the possession word for things without a gender.
Pokemon names and moves: Capitalization is a big thing and with your rank and the amount of missions you've done before, you should know that. Fortunately, this is you're first warning since like the first mission you did so I can let that slide.
Battling: Your main battle was good except that you kinda god-modded with Sandshrew. True, Fire Type attacks aren't very effective on Ground and Rock Types, but Chameleon's upgraded attack and special attack stat from its evolution would've taken out Sandshrew. Just remember that for next time.
Keep your Magikarp shiny and keep training it. A Shiny Gyrados could be awesome! Also, take 800 PD.

He decided this was just as good of a time to post his own mission as any, though he would need Thard to look it over. He posted a large note on it reading:
Please remember, this was when i was still in Lavaridge.MISSION- Clone Clearout
Must complete Fearow of Water
The word in Lavender Town is that Team Aqua has been moving large amounts of equipment out of the Power Plant. But we don’t have an installation there, so it can't be our doing.
I've looked over the legband recovered from the Fearow, and it looks like the work of Team Clone.
Your mission is to get inside the plant and find whatever is left of their operation. Bring back any documents you can get your hands on. Try to go unseen, but you might have to fight anyway. (Fight 0-3 guards with 1-3 pokemon each)
Pokemon: Any basic stage Electric or Ghost type
Funds: 1000-1800

Cody woke up in a strange bed. He slowly opened his eyes and saw a small room that looked oddly familiar. He sat up and looked around. Suddenly a voice broke the silence, forcing him to jump and fall off the side of the bed. "Well, good morning sunshine," the voice said. It was a familiar female voice, but nothing was coming to mind. The girl popped her head over the side of the bed to see if he was ok. She had red hair and wore a dark gray t-shirt that seemed to be too small for her.
He was still registering it all. Red hair. Under-sized clothes. Was he reliving his past or was this all real? He reached out to the girl and felt her grab his hand tightly, pulling him up. "Fancy seeing you here," she said.
"Flannery?" Cody simply responded.
"Of course silly. Who else would it be?"
Tears formed in his eyes as he tightly embraced her, not wanting to ever let go. It had been forever since he had seen his guardian. "Am I seriously home?"
"Yep. Welcome back little guy," she messed with his hair and ran down a set of stairs. "Dinner will be ready in a few."
Cody shook his head, letting his shaggy hair fall back into its original style. He collected his backpack and slipped his shoes on. His pokeballs were laying in a small basket on a nightstand next to his bed. Holding Flygon’s pokeball close to his face he whispered, “We’re finally home buddy.” He started down the stairs, clipping the pokeballs to his belt as he went. A strong scent of cooked chicken and spices wafted through the air as he reached the ground level. Just then, Cody remembered,
Sammy! He quickly brought out his TADS. Seeing a text, he flipped it open and read the message.

“What?” Flannery asked, not paying much attention.
“Nothing…” he sighed and came up behind her, resting his chin on her shoulder and watching her add the finishing touches to their dishes. “I’m afraid duty is calling.”
“What? You just got here. We haven’t even talked about what’s going on in your life. Or how you’re doing or anything…” She was upset.
“I know but it’s something I have to do. Putting it off is out of the question,” Cody quickly replied, not trying to put her on the backburner.
“What duty? Is it really THAT important?”
“Of course it is. It has to do with the lives of people and pokemon. This could be my only shot.”
“Then go,” she replied softly. “But I swear, if I find even one tiny scratch on your head, you are dead.”
“Gotcha,” he nodded and ran out the door with Flygon’s pokeball in hand. “To Lavender Town!” Cody shouted and threw the pokeball into the air. He jumped into the sudden flash of light, landing on Flygon’s back and took off before the light had diminished completely. It seemed like they were heading from one end of the world to another. First from Aquos to Lavaridge, then from Lavaridge to Lavender Town. Cody made a mental note to give Flygon a well-deserved break after this one. Cody stared at the ground during the whole trip, watching the lit-up landscape below pass quickly as they flew silently overhead.
The two landed in Lavender Town after sundown. The moon was almost full and the stars lit up the sky like no other. It was a perfect night for kicking bad-guy butt. Cody scanned the town for any sign of a factory or anything, even in the horizon. Nothing. “Flygon, find me a factory,” he told the pokemon, hoping to get results. He didn’t realize the mission brief was referring to the power plant ABOVE the city. It was the same place they had gone for Fearow Of Water. The trainer called his pokemon back down to his side and hopped on his back. “We’re headed north,” was all he said as the two took off into the night. They quickly passed over Lavender Town and the mountains that separated the small town from the industrialized factory and its surrounding area. Noticing a few people standing outside, Cody instructed Flygon to fly to the back of the building.
Flying silently over the Power Plant, the Dragon Type softly lowered itself to the ground. Cody hopped off and quickly returned the pokemon. He decided to observe the building before making a move, knowing there were guards all over the place. He soon spotted a vent, leading, obviously, to the inside of the building. Unfortunately, the vent was covered by a metal slab and was screwed tightly, holding it in place. Taking a screwdriver out of his emergency kit in his backpack, he unscrewed the vent and caught it before it fell to the ground. Cody lightly set it down and climbed in, not knowing what to expect. The metal was freezing to his palms as he put his hands down to hoist his body into the small opening. He army-crawled his way through the vent, eventually coming to a large room, obviously used for some kind of storage. There were shovels and metal carts all over the place with the occasional piece of trash that had been discarded on the floor, inches from a waste bin. Cody noticed a door next to him that seemed to be unlocked. The only problem he ran into was not knowing what was on the other side. He decided to find another way into the main rooms. Another vent, this time much smaller, was located above his head. He sent out Meganium. “Chiki, use Razor Leaf to open the vent, then lift give me a boost, will ya? The Grass Type nodded and sliced the vent cover open. Then, using her Vine Whip, slowly lifted Cody up and into the vent. “Return,” he whispered, holding out a pokeball. He did the best he could to clip the ball to his belt and made his way through the air duct. He came to a striated metal strand that revealed the floor below. A small group of workers and guards alike covered the floor. “Great,” he said to himself. “Just great.” Just then, the strand broke under his weight and he fell through the opening in the ceiling.
“You’re kidding me, right?” Cody asked himself as a group of people walked up to him. They looked oddly familiar. One by one he recognized them. Reaper’s clone. Jack’s clone and Adelle’s clone all approached him at once. Apparently they were the grunts of Team Clone. The first to step up was Jack’s Clone. “I’ll gladly take you,” Cody said, snickering and sending out Meganium again. The clone threw a pokeball revealing a Rapidash. The fire horse pokemon rushed at Chiki with a Flair Blitz, but with a Quick Claw in hand, the Meganium was able to counter it with a Giga Impact, knocking violently into the Rapidash. The horse pokemon, though in servere pain, managed to come back with a vicious Flare Blitz, KOing Meganium. The recoil damage from the attack also KOed the Fire Type.
Cody and the clone both returned their respected pokemon and sent out replacements. Jack’s clone’s being a Mightyena, Cody’s being Pupitar. The Mightyena started off first, launching itself into the air and coming down hard on Pupitar with Iron Tail, but he wasn’t ready to give up yet and came back with a powerful Brick Break, ramming hard into Mightyena’s side. The wolf squeeled in pain but managed to recover, hitting Pupitar with Frustration. The Hard Shell pokemon shook it off and attacked with Payback, taking out the opposing Mightyena.
Jack’s clone sent out a final pokeball. Lucario was the last thing standing in the was between he and victory. It was apparent that Pupitar was getting tired so Cody recalled him, sending out Flygon, yet again. The Dragon Type attacked first with Dig, quickly burrowing its large body underground. Lucario could do nothing but look around in confusion as the Dragon Type came from underneath it and hit it hard. Lucario returned the hit with Payback, doing incredible amounts of damage to Flygon. The dragon hit the opposing Lucario with Rock Smash, almost KOing the pokemon. The Fighting Type managed to recover for a final Dragon Pulse, but Flygon dodged it, shooting off a giant Fire Blast that enveloped his opponent, knocking it out on the spot. The clone returned his pokemon and stepped back, allowing Reaper’s clone to step up.
Reaper was his best friend in Aqua. He was Cody’s n00b buddy, though he wasn’t much of a n00b anymore. Cody sent out Pupitar long enough to give him a Full Restore and return the pokemon before being confronted by a Crawdaunt. Plusle came busting out of his pokeball, excited to join the fight. The positive pokemon started off by charging as much energy as he could, hoping to land a devastating next hit. Crawdaunt launched at the pokemon with Vicegrip, doing an ok amount of damage to Plusle. The small Electric Type winced but continued charging until finally releasing a powerful Charge Beam, also raising his Special Attack stat. Crawdaunt was paralyzed but came back with Bubblebeam. Plusle hit again with Thunderbolt this time, completely KOing Crawdaunt.
Both pokemon were quickly returned before anymore harm was done and were replaced just as fast. Reaper’s clone sent out Zangoose while Cody returned with Haunter, hoping to get the upper hand. The Ghost started off with Will-o-Wisp, causing Zangoose to obtain a serious burn. The opponent was almost at a loss here so it used Flamethrower, hitting Haunter dead on before taking burn damage. The Ghost Type used Sucker Punch, hitting Zangoose and lowering its health even farther. Zangoose came back with Shockwave, paralyzing Haunter completely, and taking burn damage again.. He managed to come back with Curse, cutting his current HP in half and inflicting a deadly curse on the Normal Type. Zangoose’s final attack, Ice Beam, caused Haunter to faint, but the curse and burn damage knocked it our as well.
Reaper’s final pokemon was an Electrode. Cody threw Claydol’s pokeball and the mysterious pokemon appeared. The giant ball pokemon started off with Sonicboom, inflicting a little bit of damage on Claydol. The creepy dark pokemon came back with an intense Earthquake that shook the building, doing insane amounts of damage to Electrode. The foe used Magnet Rise to change its ability and Claydol attacked with Psybeam. Electrode, out of stupidity, used Explosion, amazingly KOing both pokemon.
With only three pokemon left, it would be just enough to fight the last clone; Adie’s clone. Both trainers skipped the chitchat and sent out their first pokemon. Cody with Plusle and the clone with Wartortle. Plusle started with charge again, taking in as much electric energy from the power plant as he could. Wartortle tucked its head into its shell, preparing for the next attack. Plusle let off an insane Shock Wave, electricity surging through the foe’s shell. Suddenly, the Water Type was flying at Plusle with immense speed, hitting him dead on. The mouse pokemon flew backwards into a wall, making the metal vibrate and ring as he bounced off and hit the ground. The little Electric Type was out. Cody sent out Flygon as a replacement, using a quick Dragon Rush to end it all. He returned Flygon again and waited for the clone to send out her next pokemon.
Adie’s clone sent out Houndoom, the evolution of the real Adie’s favorite pokemon. Cody returned with Pupitar, hoping this would be easier than it looked, for his sake. Houndoom started off with Sunny Day, using the electricity in the room to produce a heat source, powering up all Fire Type moves. Pupitar shot out a sickening Earthquake, almost enough to KO the Houndoom already. The pokemon hung on using a Focus Band and shot out a devastating Solarbeam, completely knocking Pupitar out. Cody only had one pokemon left against her two.
Flygon was his last resort, like always. The Dragon had always pulled through for him before in a time of crisis. What was stopping him now? A Dragon Claw finished off the hardly standing Houndoom. All that was left was her last pokemon, a Dewgong. Flygon started off with Dragon Claw, hitting the Ice Type hard, but leaving himself open for a Sheer Cold attack that he hardly dodged. The Flying Dragon hit Dewgong with Return, showing an ultimate compassion for his trainer. Dewgong came back with a Frustration that was just as strong. Flygon finally finished everything with a powerful Rock Slide, knocking out the enemy’s final pokemon.
The clones had been defeated and Cody was ready to move on. Flygon flew the boy up to the vent where he had fallen from and he carefully climbed in, thanking and returning the dragon. He continued to quietly crawl deeper into the factory’s ventilation system until finally coming to another vent cover. He looked through the metal to see a small room filled with computers and a scientist inside. The trainer brought out the old invisibility watch he had received from Ike months ago, quickly sliding it on his wrist. He hit a button on the side, making him completely invisible and removed the vent cover, silently dropping through the vent. He hit the ground with a soft thud, enough to catch the scientist’s attention. The man quickly turned around, but saw nothing. Cody brought out a napkin he had been keeping in his pocket and a small spray bottle. He silently sprayed the solution inside the bottle onto the napkin and discarded the bottle as quietly as possible.
Coming up behind the scientist, he asked, “Hey, does this smell like chloroform to you?” and shoved the napkin over the man’s face, covering his nose and mouth. The man fell to the ground, knocked out. Cody popped a flash drive into the CPU and started going through the files that were currently open, copying them onto the G drive. After the boy had gotten his fill, he took out the removable disk and made his way back into the vent.
Time to go home he thought to himself and headed back the way he had come through the vent. Once finally outside, he sent out Flygon once more and took off toward Cerulean City. He would need to be home soon before Flannery killed him. Landing in the city, he quickly made his way to the nearest Pokemon Center. Nurse Joy calmly greeted him as handed her his pokemon and sat on a bench, bringing out a pen and notpad to record his mission statement.
