Laughing nervously as he reached out, wiping her own face, she now understood how he felt when she did it to him. Sticking her tongue out at him playfully, fun her only defense against nervousness, she chuckled.
"Well, we all know that my opinion is the only one that matters," she said with a laugh, clearly joking. He said he wouldn't take it easy on her, which caused her to laugh, tilting her head to the side so her blue hair fell over her shoulder.
"I would expect nothing less."

"Oh, really?" he asked, replying to her first comment. "I'll have to take that to heart," Cody laughed with her. He was having so much fun with her. Eating, talking, joking, laughing. It was something he had never really expreienced before with anyone else. Sammy always seemed to pass or bail out on their dates, but he wasn't going to recollect on what might have been. He was focused on the present and partially on the future; their future, if there was such a thing. Maybe he would ask her about it later, but for now, everything was fine just the way it was.
"Glad you see it my way," he said, replying to her second comment. She would put up a fight, he gave her that much. It wouldn't be like her to just back down. She wouldn't let herself down like that. Most importantly, she wouldn't let her pokemon down like that.

Adie grinned at him, finding herself too full to even think about eating another bite. She was having a last with him - he made for a good date. The dancing, the conversation, the food was all great, and best of all, he was taking a real interest in her and her pokemon. She knew that, if they did battle, he wouldn't go easy on her, but even if she lost there was no doubt that she would learn so much from in that short amount of time. Seeing the pokemon bartender coming towards them, she asked for a to-go box for at least the rest of her burger, giving him a grateful smile as the Lucario went off to get what she asked for.
"Oh my god, I am so stuffed. This was delicious."

"It was," Cody smiled. He watched the Lucario duck under the counter and surface again with a Styrofoam box that read "To Go" on the top.
"Here ya go, ma'am," the pokemon said with a sincere smile. Lucario was an interesting pokemon. It could speak and had the ability to sense aura, a wonderful ability that Cody was practicing as well.
"Did you have a good time?" Cody asked, hoping her answer was yes.

Taking the box as it was set down in front of her, she smiled at the pokemon, calling a grateful "thank you" over the noice of the music. For being a pokemon, he was a pretty good waiter. Putting her left overs in the box, she smiled at Cody as he asked if she had a good time.
"Yea, this was awesome. I hope I wasn't a lame date," she said with a laugh, rubbing the back of her neck with a small laugh before finishing off her glass of sprite. To be honest, she hadn't had this much fun in a long time...it was a pretty good day.

The Lucario nodded, looking up from his glass cleaning to acknowledge Adie's thanks. Cody nodded and made a small wave to the pokemon, leaving a few dollars on the counter as a tip. "Lame? With you? Nah," he laughed, offering his hand as he stood up and got ready to leave with her.

Smiling, she took his hand, allowing him to help her off her stool as the two got ready to leave. She made sure that she had her leftovers in hand and all her personal belongings. When she had everything, she turned to him, a bright smile gracing her lips as she gave a nod and gently squeezed his hand as she stood next to him, showing that she was ready to go.
"Thanks again for hanging out with me and stuff. You're really sweet."

Cody wrapped his hand around hers, happily walking out of the "cafe" together. "Hey, it's my pleasure. Anytime you want to do something, just let me know." He smiled as he said this. "I'm always more than willing to hang out with you." Taking Dragonite's ball off his belt, he asked, "Anywhere you would like to go?"

"As much fun as another late beach night would be, I better get back to base. It's getting late, and Persian got away without a bath this morning," she said with a laugh, walking a little closer to him as the two of them walked out the door to the cafe together. She felt a little bad suggesting that they cut their date a little short, but she was tired, and she had a mission statement to finish...the work of an Aquan was never done. Bet he was reconsidering her lame comment a few minutes earlier.

"Oh... Ok," he said, trying not to show his disappointment. He understood where she was coming from though. He did want to spend more time with her, but if she had other things to do... What could he do? "Serenity, let's go home!" Cody called, throwing a pokeball into the air. The dragon screeched in excitement, spreading her wings as she landed softly on the ground, patiently waiting for her passengers to climb aboard.
