The happy expression on the purple-haired man's face faltered at the order. Damnit. What bad timing. Setting the newly retrieved bottle of vodka by his feet, he flashed the woman an award winning smile. It he hadn't been still getting over Rivener he'd likely had flirted with her a bit more, but at the moment he wasn't interested. "A wonderful choice mam!" Bard said cheerfully, shiffling about to figure out exactly how he was going to get the pink lemonade to the woman. Rivener hadn't exactly given him a tour of the stall. It only took him a moment though to find the cups and ice and fill the cup to almost the brim with the soft pink liquid.

"Ah..yea...hot dog..." he said nervously. He'd only been left in charge of the drinks, but Lazarus really had his hands full with the other two women who, amazingly enough, were at least wearing more than the woman before him. Thinking it would be best to just grab the hot dog and not worry Laz about it, Bard held up a finger for the woman and slipped behind Lazarus to grab her a hot dog.

He was just about to hand both things over to the woman when he paused and looked down at them. Crap. How much did they cost? He couldn't really see the price menus, but he vaguely remembered takeing a view at a few of them. Taking a stab at the numbers floating in his head, Bard managed a, "That will be six dollars please. Would you like anything else? Perhaps a straw or some ketchup for your hot dog?" Once again he gave the woman a bright 'thank you for your service' smile as he waited for her reply and money, pushing her order to her side of the stall's counter.

Ki's eyes widened. This...essence thing was going to put her in charge of some child-like being?! She wasn't ready for motherhood, for chrissakes!

"Wait...so I'm going to end up with one of..." she motioned, again, at Tariel. It might seem a silly question, in light of the fact that it was the obvious conclusion--but the she-pirate, as used to only really having to worry about herself as she was, found it difficult to wrap her mind around.

"And...you mention feeding...what exactly do they eat? I mean...I'm not sure what exactly mine is, even...all I know is that the bug in there seems to twitch on its own sometimes, and...maybe it's all in my head, but the chunk of amber seems to be...growing." This last was spoken in a more hushed tone, as if she was concerned that the other might find her crazy for even thinking it.

Alex laughed again at Fangs, a light-hearted sound that didn't quite match the going-on with the two Raevans and Ravi. As long as the man was there, she supposed the situation would be defused...she'd stick around her booth, just in case. Besides, Fangs was being such an attention grabber that she felt slightly ADD in her inability to keep track of everything that was happening.

She watched him perform, arching a curious brow as he rolled over again and pawed at his stomach. It was cute, as if he was rubbing it, like after a good meal. Similar to how people pointed to their wrists for the time, or cupped themselves for the bathroom, although those motions were more in askance than fulfillment.

"Ah," she exclaimed, startled, "are you...hungry?" This was awkward. Alex felt like she was chasing phantoms with the cat, and it showed with one eyebrow hoisted high, the other curved low over her eye in a comical expression of being perplexed. "I wouldn't have the slightest clue what someone so unique as yourself would find suitable." Sitting down with a sigh, she leaned under the table, grabbing the white bag once again.

After pawing through it for a few minutes, Alex glanced up at the cat to see if she was even on the right track. She was getting hungry herself, with the smells from the food booth wafting through the area anyway. "All I have is pastrami or roast beef. I didn't pack for cuties like you I'm afraid." Without turning around, she unwrapped what looked like a peppermint and tossed it over her shoulder. Lorenzo was laying in the shade, almost dozing off one second, and then he was mid-air; there was no inbetween, just laying down and then...not. He snapped up the treat and gnawed on it triumphantly as he resumed his post, the woman waiting for some sort of 'sign' from the cat-dragon.

It was a hot day, and much as he was enjoying himself just mingling and watching everyone else enjoy themselves, soaking in the bright warmth of the day, Lucado spotted on a sign a mention of delicious Italian ice.

"Oh, dear lord, hold me back..." Though since nobody in particular seemed to be paying attention, it was an ineffective plea, and like the proverbial moth to the flame, the poor hapless novelist was drawn to the sweet promise of delicious, cold sweets.

Approaching the booth, Lucado turned big, pleading blue eyes to the man working the thing, both hands splayed wide on the counter. He looked more silly than desperate, though, his cheerful blue eyes bright.

"Can you tell me, good sir," said Lucado with a smile, straightening up after a moment and losing his mock-desperation, "if the Italian ice is any good?"

Fangs would certainly eat just about anything, as long as it wasn't disgusting pet food or treats. He wasn't interested in eating like a common cat simply because he wasn't a common cat. At her question, Fangs gave a bob of his head after rolling back onto his feet and settling back onto his haunches. That long, black scaled tail flipped bout idly as she gave him his choices.

Pastromi he'd never tried before, but honestly it didn't sound very good, so he settled upon the roast beef. When she looked up at him after shuffling through her back he gave his tail two thumps upon the stall's counter. Clearly he wanted the second choice. Fangs watched the gwee with distaste, chomping on the treat so...well...there really wasn't a word for it but Fangs was getting that sick feeling from watching him eat it.

Bard was still busy with the bikini-clad woman before him, keeping one eye on her to make sure she didn't run off without paying him. That would really put a dent in his 'mission' since the whole point was to raise money for the Lab. Honestly, the man didn't even notice the appearance of the blue-eyed customer until he started talking, which gave Bard a bit of a fright.

Blinking those glowing green eyes at the customer, he momentarily wondered just why everyone asked him for food. Clearly he had a drink menu infront of his stall and clearly Laz had the food menu infront of his. So where had this man read Italian ice? Bard was willing to bet he read it off Laz's menu and thus should be talking to Laz about it. But Laz was still busy and Bard had just freed up so, well, why not help?

"Actually I cannot my good man," Bard replied to the question with a chuckle and a shrug. "I haven't tried the Italian Ice, but I assure you everything offered here is delightfully yummy." Bard practically purred the final word, hoping hs lie would prove to be correct. He didn't actually know what any of this stuff tasted like and he didn't know if it was good or not.

As if the thought of sweet, sweet Italian ice hadn't lured Lucado in enough, then the handsome seller would have made the sale. That purr was more than a bit charming, and Lucado's cheeks pinked pleasantly, though he wished he could have explained it away.

"Well, and it is for what I assume is a good cause, too," he said with a smile. "I wouldn't know -- I just wandered in here on my own, so..." Fishing again for his billfold, he peeled a few dollars out of it. "Would it be too much trouble to order one, ah... sir?" Mildly distracted, Lucado's eyes caught the other person tending the other side of the stall, curiosity in his gaze, before he drew his eyes back to Bard.

Leaning over the stall, crossing his arms and supporting his upper body, Bard gave a slight shrug of his bare shoulders, thankful that he'd taken his shirt off just a bit ago. He liked the way the sun felt on his tanned skin. The man couldn't help but notice the blush on his cheeks and with a soft laugh he nodded. "Of course. I'm happy to get you whatever you'd like there sir," he murmurred before sitting back up off the counter.

He wasn't sure if there were different flavors of the Italian Ice or anything, but he figured he'd find out when he got to the freezer. Slipping around Laz once more, and giving him a playful nudge in the side in the process, Bard dug around in the freezer for the ice. Finding only strawberry, Bard grabbed it and took it back to Lucado, checking the price of the hot dog he'd just sold as well as the Italian Ice's price. "This'll be the best four dollars you'll ever spend I'm sure," Bard said happily as he plunked down the sweet before the man.

Now, Fangs' two thumps was something Alex could recognize; she had trained Zoe to do such similarly when there was such a question posed, although he was more vocal about it. She dug out two sub like sandwiches, unwrapping the cellophane on one and putting it down by the cat. There, she took off the top piece of bread to reveal thin cuts of browned roast beef, which she carefully pulled a few apart into slightly more managable pieces. "Will that do? I don't suppose you like au jus, too." She chuckled to herself as she unwrapped the other sandwich, which looked just like the one she had put out save for the edges of the meat being peppered.

"I only have water to drink, so if you like some of that, I'll go nab a bowl from the food stand." Alex smiled at the cat before pulling a small piece of her own sandwich meat out - sans the pepper - and laying it next to his roast beef. "Just in case you're feeling brave," she explained with a wink. She took a hearty bite of her sandwich, not really caring if anyone was watching. It's not like she was a boar when it came to eating, but she wasn't the type to nibble on salad leaves, either. Of course, Lorenzo was much of the same, gnawing happily on his small peppermint joy. He could care less about the meat, although he would likely seek some after he had thoroughly mauled his sweet and devoured a good portion of it.

"Thanks," said Lucado with an almost silly grin on his face, cracking that carefully-constructed almost sardonic facade as he plopped the money down onto the counter. "I have this love affair with sweet, cold things..." He sighed with pleasure, contemplating the sweet. "I don't suppose you have a spoon...?"

And while I'm at it, a phone number, a small part of Lucado's errant mind added, and made the poor writer make a slightly awkward face, focusing on the treat for a moment.

Darn, but he needed cooling down. Maybe the sun on his black hair was overheating his brain. "I don't suppose you could tell me anything about this lab I'm helping fund, hmm? If you're not too busy, that is -- it's fine if you are -- " He shut up, then, thinking it wisest, and wanting to minimize looking like a fool as much as he could.

As soon as the woman started ripping the meat into tiny bits Fangs pushed his way between her and the sandwich, trying to get her to stop. He didn't need her food carved up like a little baby. Flicking his tail about anxiously, Fangs sniffed at the roast beef nervously, making sure it was safe to eat anything prepared by the woman. It seemed well and good enough so with a purr, Fangs settled down onto the sounter and began eating the mean happily.

Water? Water sounded find to the feline, but he was content just bobbing his head lightly in responce instead of stopping to meow agreeably at her. Looking over at the meat she'd given him to try, he gave a tiny cat shrug before pulling a bite of it into his mouth. It wasn't the best, but all the same it wasn't uneatable.

Bard reached out the take the man's money, putting his hand lightly overtop of the other's befor he could draw it away. "Spoon's taped onto the side, he said with a wink, motioning with his free hand to one of those classic wooden...spades they wrap onto the cup. Fingers tickled lightly against the back of Lucado's hand as he drew it away, taking the money and slipping it into the small metal money till between him and Laz.

The man's nervousness was cute and Bard was bored. He only felt bad that he couldn't help the poor fellow out. "I'm afraid I know jack-squat about this Lab thing everyone's been talking about. All I know is that it needs money and that someone that belongs to the Lab owes me a bit of something for watching this here stall for him." Bard gave an apologetic shrug for the man. Full of answers and help this one was. "I'm happy to talk about anything else though," he added after a moment, leaning forward once more upon the counter and letting his voice become low, attempting to mimic the sultry tone Rivener had been using earlier.

The woman chuckled and nodded, giving the cat a few good scritches by his wings while he ate, finishing her own sandwich in turn. Waiting for the cat to take a break, she gently scooped him up and held him against her cleavage, thinking more about the bowls than the animal's position. Alex would have to get one for Zoe, too, even though he preferred to drink out of the bottle itself. It was cute, but messy, and she didn't want to waste water on such a warm day.

She gave the developed Raevan's booth a wide berth - she was still embarrassed for admiring the creature - and found herself where Riv's booth was. Only...it wasn't Rivener there. Alex blinked a few times in surprise at the purple-haired and shirtless man behind the booth. If she hadn't cast a glance to check for legs, she would have thought him a Raevan as well with his horns and unique eyes. The woman gave another half-hearted attempt to find the Raevan, hoping he hadn't gone after that rude boy, before spotting him near her own booth. Somehow she'd missed him and the green Frei in her preoccupation with the cat-dragon.

Which brought her back to her purpose. She put her hand on the side of the counter, biting her lip and looking apologetically to the customer. "I'm sorry, can I sneak in a second for two bowls?" Alex loathed to be rude, but she didn't want to chase the man off, either. She just needed what was necessary and the two could get back to...whatever they were doing that was decidedly not her business.

Fangs enjoyed the scratches by his wings, fluttering them lightly and stretching them out so she could admire them if she desired. Who wouldn't want to admire his wings afterall. He'd been just about to curl up for his after sandwich snack when he was suddenly grabbed up and shoved into some clevage. Well. That was turning out much better than the nap would have been.

Purring loud enough for people just walking by Alex to hear, Fangs closed his eyes and just let the woman carry him about. He didn't much mind where she was taking him as long as he was able to continue snuggling against her.

"Fangs?" Bard asked curiously, his green eyes going wide at the sight of a stunning woman carrying his cat all snuggled up against her chest. He almost didn't even hear what it was the woman was saying, but she was attempting to get into the stall. Bard wasn't too sure how to reply, his mouth working slightly but no words coming out. Clearly the woman seemed to know what she was doing, but that didn't always mean that she was allowed to do anything of the sort.

Quickly he lifted his hands and shook his head in a motion to keep her from entering the stall. "Please, by all means, allow me to get them for you miss. It's the most I can do for apparently taking care of my cat," he said with a chuckle before turning to shuffle through his collection of goddies behind the stall. Finally he located the two bowls the woman was looking for.

Presenting the two bowls proudly upon the counter, he stacked them together so that the woman could carry them with one hand. He knew Fangs could very well ride on her shoulder (or for that matter her head) and she'd have both hands available, but spying where exactly Fangs was positioned mean he'd be very mad at Bard if Bard took away his snuggle spot. "He thinks he's a prince, I'd be careful with that one," Bard said softly to the woman with a tiny smile.

That light contact set poor Lucado's cheeks nearly on fire, but he nodded. Of course it was -- where in the world was his poor head? Certainly not in that delightful little cup, but then he couldn't be blamed, he was sure, lightly rubbing both hands together before taking the cup in hand, peeling the little spoon-esque thing from it.

"Well, you seem to be d-doing a very good job, anyway," said Lucado, self-conscious, prying the lid on the sweet open as he smiled toward the other customer. "And i-it's fine." He needed the moment to regain his composure anyway... not that it'd be so quick either.

Jae Eun gently bit her lip, watching the rose-crowned Frei vainly attempt to plant the Baby's Breath back into the earth. Moved, she wrested herself free of Junsu's arms, slowly walking over. There was really no way to explain what happened other then that she was moved by the Frei's few words, which were filled with such sorrow. Without really thinking, she bent down towards the ground, and kneeling next to the Frei, gingerly put a hand towards the small sprig of blossoms.

"This plant...it's....been separated from the ground. You can't just put it back in...." her words were quiet, a little unusual for her. She gave a weak yet sympathetic smile to the Frei. "It's sad, isn't it?"

Junsu watched on in silence. Suddenly, he felt as though to take the blossom he had just paid for would be wrong. Quietly, he decided to simply leave the $5 as a donation, and nothing more than that.

Alex blinked at the man, then at the purring ball of fur on her chest. "Fangs?" she echoed softly, lifting her hand from the counter to continue petting him. Her green eyes jerked back to the purple-haired man with surprise; it made sense that the cat was his, if he knew its name. "Oh, I see! That's a shame. I was ready to take this one home." She chuckled quietly, drawing her fingers down his fur and stopping to gently rub by his wings. He seemed to enjoy that.

Her smile warmed as the man grabbed the items himself, although she felt guilty for interrupting the other customers. "I apologize," she offered a lop-sided grin, looking bashful, "I didn't mean to interrupt. I just wanted to give him some water." Alex gave a delicate shrug at his last comment, complimenting the cat in her arms, "He is a prince. And should be treated thusly." She couldn't stop a small giggle from escaping, praising the cat when he'd done little more than eat a sandwich and purr, shifting Fangs more securely against her.

The woman pointed with her free hand to her booth. "That's where I am. If you don't mind, I'd like to visit with His Highness just a little longer?" She dropped her gaze to the cat on her chest. "If that's okay with you, Fangs." Oh yes, she felt QUITE silly for asking the man to play with his cat a little while longer, but the words were out of her mouth before she could stop them. She really needed to practice thinking before speaking.

She moved her eyes to the customer, looking as though she'd completely forgotten he was there. "Thank you. I appreciate it." Her gaze was drawn back to the purple-haired man. "Thank you, too." Alex felt her inability to interact starting to creep into her mind, making her skin feel too warm. She'd wrap this up and high tail it back to her booth before she made too much of an arse of herself.
