Stephanie gave a big sort of older sister smile, and then swung Margy's hand back and fourth playfully. It seemed that she had almost completley forgotten that Margy was about two years older than she was.
"Well, hopefully we can go to the Mystic Ruins and find some answers... Maybe even a cool item for Soulie-" Stephanie was cut off by an odd crunching sound far above them. Turning with a bit of a start, she looked up to a mountain and could see a red figure clinging to the side of a rocky wall. Before anything could be said, the figure suddenly lept off and lunged their arms forward...only instead of falling they glided effortlessly above their heads and towards the sunset.
"Knuckles...!" Stephanie finally said with awe. "Look's like the story's starting to begin..." She looked to Soul with an almost calm expression. "You think Chaos is nearby...? Or is the whole Big/Froggy thing later..." Stephanie scratched her head slightly, although she knew the Sonic Adventure storyline she didn't know exactly how all the timelines of each character connected.

"Later, I believe. Knuckles is going off to fight with Chaos One or Two, I can't remember. He doesn't know it yet, and I'm just glad that Eggman's efforts are now gonna be focused elsewhere until tomorrow. That's when Chaos Four will be here." He said, pointing down the distance towards a muddy pond. He spotted during the night and checked it out when the others were asleep. "Sonic will be through here soon, but if my guesses are right, he's at the Emerald Coast right now." He explained. He once went to the hotel to check on the prices. It was obscene, but very posh. He didn't think he'd ever afford one night's stay there.

He beckoned the girls to follow. "I watched some activity from the train station while you girls we're sleeping. I think the humans are mining through the cliff side as we speak. The inner area to Angel Island should be accessible within about six hours, if I'm right. It's still pretty dark out..." He said. He wondered if Sonic was actually at the Emerald coast or running somewhere else, running off his frustrations from the battle with Chaos Zero. "Day break should come within about three hours, I think. I know we're all awake, but I'm gonna crash, girls. I need some sleep. Margy..." He yawned. "I think it's your time to take watch..." He said, collapsing to his knees. Not in any way to cause alarm... he just didn't have the strength anymore.

Margy seemed to be hardly listening to the conversation that was going on between Soul and Stephanie. Giggling happily, she swung back and forth with Stephanie, acting like a little child would if they were heading somewhere with their sister or parent. She seemed to be completely oblivious to everything that was going around her--at least, that's how it seemed. A second later, the hyper active hamster began to jump up and down happily as she saw Knuckles glide past over head, it was almost like a kid trying to catch a bird or a kite that was flying away. There was no way she'd reach Knuckles, but she was trying anyway.
"Hiiquu?" Margy asked when she heard Soul say her name, before glancing over towards the reddish-brown hedgehog. Releasing Stephanie's hand, she ran over and began to circle Soul hyperly.
"ALRIGHTY ROW!!!" she said with a grin. "Margy will keep watchy watch!" she grinned widely, not even seeming to worry about the fact that her friend had fallen onto one knee.
"Soul-kun is sleepy sleepy, so resty resty." she said and ran over to a nearby tree, before quickly scampering up it to get a good view of the surroundings.
PostPosted: Thu Mar 06, 2008 4:12 pm

Stephanie gave a small giggle as Margy scampered up the tree, and looked back at Soul with a smile. "I'll keep watch on the opposite end. Have a good rest Soul." With that, Stephanie walked casually in the opposite direction of Margy's tree and found another one. Unlike Margy she didn't climb up it, but only scanned the area behind it and then leaned against it with one leg bent against it. Every so often her curiousity would cause her to shift positions to see what else was out there, and once saticfied, leaned back against the tree until her next thought of what may be around.

Staring out at her post, she began to daydream about adventures and challenges, new friends and a new life.... Almost immediatley her thoughts shifted to the Sonic characters....little pictures of everyday life with them seemed to flash in her mind. Coffee and tea with Cream, playing with Froggy and having Big teach her to fish, helping Tails with his inventions, maybe try a chilidog with Sonic, shopping with Amy, have Knuckles or Rouge teach her how to fight, and Shadow.... Stephanie sighed just thinking of maybe brightening Shadow's day...that maybe another friend would make his life a little happier....

After a moment of sighing like a little fangirl, Stephanie winced in self-annoyence and shook her head. It was silly to think everyone would like her, or that she may even really interact with any of the characters. Seeing Knuckles was a matter of chance, besides how on earth would she talk to one anyway? "Hi my name is Stephanie and you're Sonic right? Oh yeah I totally know everything about you. You like chilidogs and contemporary music and your favorite color is- h-hey where ya going!?!" Stephanie slapped her hand on her forehead, the picture of her making a fool of herself stuck deep in her mind. She had never met a celebrety before, besides an ancorman from Fox, so the chances of her reacting in that way weren't entierly impossible.

Deciding to refrain from emberacing herself more, she reached in her pocket, took her kitty-eared hat out, and placed it onto her head. Then with a swift movement she took out her black wristbands that she seemed to have forgotten were in her pockets. Looking back on it she really didn't know why she had taken them out in the first place, since she didn't have any sweat glands now then they wouldn't make her wrists sweaty or wet. "Oh well." She thought aloud as she twisted them slightly to adjust to her fur. For some reason now when her fur got rubbed the wrong way she found a chill go up her spine, much like when she was a human only she didn't have any fur so it made no sense. At least now she had an actual reason for chills to things like getting brushed on the arm or getting pet on the head. It creeped her out.

"Wow, I'm bored." Stephanie grunted, but put her hand over her mouth swiftly after hearing how loud she'd said it. Soul needed rest, and despite their distance his new hearing probably made it more difficult to block out sound. "Oh well," She thought as she pushed herself from the side of the tree and went to another position. "At least I can think about stuff I can do here....other than being in danger all the time....maybe...well I don't have to answer to anyone anymore...cept Soul and Marge." Stephanie looked over to Margy in the tree, surveying, and smiled. "Hm....Twinkle Park is an option...the Mystic Ruins are real now, so I can always see if I could meet Tikal in person....maybe find some relics......God I hope they have an art store or something around here. I needs to do mah artworks." Stephanie stuck her tounge out and waggled her tail, she was so random.

Margy stood on a branch, looking around curiously. As she looked, her ears twitched a bit, picking up every sound that was around them.
"Ooo!! Ooo!!" Margy suddenly called out, as she looked over towards Stephanie as she began to leap up and down on the branch she was on--which was a bit dangerous.
"Stephanie-chan!! Stephanie-chan!!" she called out towards her canine friend. "Can Margy be a Prairie Dog? Huh?! Can Margy?!"
It was a very strange question to say the least, but if it as thought about hard enough it would actually make quite a lot of sense. Seeing how she was a rodent and a look out, she could easily relate herself to a Prairie Dog. The only question was, if Stephanie said yes...would she squeal and scream like a Prairie Dog if danger came.
"Can Margy?! HUH?! HUH?!" it didn't seem like she was going to give up until Stephanie gave her an answer.
PostPosted: Sun Mar 09, 2008 12:19 pm

Stephanie opened her mouth, but then shaped it into a small "o" with a look of confusion on her face. "Uuuuuh.....suuuuuuuuure....?" Stephanie answered, in total confusion of what Margy was talking about. Unfortunatley she tended to be kind of slow with things like random questions, but she merley nodded her head with the same look of confusion. Suddenly it hit her. "Wait, don't Prairie Dogs squeek when there's danger? Oh! You want to give a signal if there's danger?" Stephanie looked up towards Margy with a big smile. "Good idea Margy-Margy! I'll bark if anything is up on my end, but just make sure you keep an eye out o-urk." Stephanie rose up her shoulders again and put her hand on her mouth swiftly, noticing Soul rustle slightly from his sleeping spot. "Ok?" She whispered , cupping her hands over her mouth to let Margy hear it.

"ALRIGHTY ROW!!!!!" Margy yelled out at the top of her lungs in response to what Stephanie said. She gave of a grin and began to bounce about happily.
"We can both be Prairie Dogs!!" she said happily, giggling and smiling more. Her ears rotated around, picking up any sounds that she could ear near by. For now she didn't hear anything.
"something o' clock all is well!" she called out, just like the vulture did from the Disney version of Robin Hood.
Staring at the branch above her, Margy grabbed onto to and began to attempt to pull herself up, trying to get a better view of the force.
"Margy hears something." she said, as she climbed a bit higher. She could hear what sounded like rumbling--almost like a rock falling, or a thunderstorm's faint growling in the distance-but she couldn't see anything at the point.
"...hiiquuu..." she said, as she looked around more, when it came to being a look out, she was pretty good at it.

"Ow." Soul mumbled as he covered his ears. "Don't know what that was, don't care, just make it stop." Not much of a morning person, Soul rolled over and tried to return to sleep, even though Margy's scraping against the tree was making it hard to do just that. One day he had to get into the habit of just carrying a backpack with random odds and ends. Such a thing would be useful. Perhaps a messenger bag, as a backpack would just look tacky. His mind raced through different possibilities, and he soon found himself dreaming again, this time he was adventuring with said backpack, except he was in the inner of angel Island instead of near the Ruins that were now crushed under the Island.

Stephanie gave an apologetic expression as Soul mumbled about making the noise stop, and nodded her head slightly until he rolled over and went back to sleep. With a slight exhale, she tip-toed swiftly to Margy's far away position, whispering with her hands cupped over her mouth. "Margy!" Once she had gotten closer, she looked up to the tree Margy was perched on. "Margy what is it? What do you see? Er, hear?" Stephanie could hear a rumbling sound also, but for some reason couldn't make a clear picture of what it was...
PostPosted: Thu Mar 13, 2008 11:57 pm

Margy did her best to balance herself on the branch as she stood up straight like a prairie dog would and began to listen carefully. A second later, she leaned back down, and stared at down at her friend Stephanie.
"Margy here's strange buzzy buzzing sound Stephanie-chan!!" Margy called down, as she leaned further over the branch--which was rather dangerous to put it lightly.
"Like buzzy bees!!" she called, before beginning to flail her arms about, trying to keep her balance. She let out a squeal as she suddenly fell over, but luckily grabbed onto the branch and wrapped her feet around it--causing her to hang upside down like a sloth.
"But louder!!!" she called out again.

"Like bees...." Stephanie looked down, thinking what could sound like bees around here? If this was Sonic's world, then that meant that Sonic's foes were around here too..... Suddenly the image of a bee-like robot popped into her mind from one of Sonic's older 2D games. Could it be that previous enemies were still here?
"Margy," Stephanie said, looking up at her still upsidedown friend. "Can you look up at the sky and see if there's anything there?" She remembered that the ground was 'up' for Margy, and then told her, "I mean look down. Er- whatever direction the sky is in!"

Soul was up and tapped Stephenie's shoulder from behind, probably making her yelp and jump in the air a bit. He gave a goofy smile before saying, "I believe your bee problem stems from thataway." He pointed over to the direction he had earlier, where the construction into Angel Island had begun. "It's the sound of the drills and other machinery over there. Nothing to be worried about." The hedgehog had serious bags under his eyes, but he seemed to not care at the moment. "I'm having a hard time staying asleep with them going on. Honestly, 'm surprised at you, Stephenie. Being a dog and all, I'd of thought you would of heard them better then us." He said, not really thinking. His brain wasn't working very well, so he didn't know if Stephenie would take offense at that.

Margy, who was still hanging upside down at the time, picked up the whole conversation and what Super said. Blinking a bit, she stared up at the branch that was she was hanging on, before grabbing what looked like a pinecone, she held onto it, giving a bit of a grin a second later, she swung over onto the branch, causing herself to straighten out.
Lifting her hand up slowly, she gave a bit of a grin--and hurled her hand forward.
"PINECONE THINGY ATTACK!!!" she yelled at the top of her lungs as she hurled the pinecone at Soul's head, a second later--there was a soft thumping sound as the pinecone--or what Margy considered a pinecone--collided with Soul's head.
"BULLSEYE!!" she cheered happily and began to bounce up and down happily.
"Now apologize soul-kun!!!" she called from the branch. "Or pinecone assault will continue!!"

"Margymargymargy, chill out!" Stephanie paniced a bit, waving her hands out in front of her to seace fire. "I-It's cool, I was just being idiotic....." She rubbed the back of her neck, trying not to show the hurt she felt but at the same time self-hatred because she never seemed to get things right. "Besides, Soul hasn't gotten any sleep with us shouting and stuff...so why don't we just get back to our posts and keep an eye out for real danger." Stephanie began to walk off, but then looked up with a smile at Margy. "Thanks though." She turned with a nervous smile and gave an almost akward sounding, "Night again Soul."

"Uh?" Soul murmered as the pinecone bounced harmlessly off his head. He stared at it a moment before finding his assailant to be Margy. Confused, he just stared blankly at the hamster. "Apologize? What'd I do wrong?" He asked mid-air. When Stephenie defended him, all that happened was that he became further confused. "What'd I do wrong? Why are pinecones being launched at me?" He murmured. He was starting to wonder if he himself was all there, apparently he might of done something wrong. It would seem sleep needed to happen for the poor hedgehog.
