"But not everyone is like that," Kara replied softly, "From the few people I've met, I believe there's still hope yet," she smiled a bit softly, "Take Ruel for example, he maybe... well less than agreeable, his wife is a wonderfully open minded person," she mused softly, "And some of the people there were so nice..."
She continued to cut keeping an eye on the two.

Slowly, Skye's wings stopped their beating, and her breath came softly and in slower intervals.
The tiny angel had fallen asleep.
Yet even in her sleep, one of her wings twitched occasionally.

"So I've heard," Ulani agreed with a smile. "I've never met Luthien - but I'm told that she's a wonderful woman. As for the brothers - the only ones I've met are Elrohir, Gion and Ruel ... and to be honest, Gion is the only one I have much respect for. Elrohir can keep a civil tongue in his mouth when he has to, but his ideals are still the same as Ruel's. And I can't see Ruel changing at all ..."
She shrugged. "Like I said, I haven't been down there since decades before any of the children were born. Serenity's parents hadn't even arrived in the Four Lands the last time I was in the Southland ..."

"Well..." Kara looked thoughtful, "I think Elrohir has hope yet, he was quite decent in the final yards of our trip, but I think that had to do with us getting attacked," she sighed laying out the last of the patterns finally cut, "Poor boy, never had been in a fight before, as for Ruel... well I don't know about him. He's not fond of my mage twins at all, but he seemed okay enough with Triton, but since they did bring Daeron home...."

Ulani nodded slowly. "I had heard about the attack ... and if Elrohir was different afterwards, then that's good. Perhaps ... yes, perhaps there is hope for him after all."
She smiled. "As for Ruel - I think it's very likely that the only reason he was fine with Triton was because he was the one who saved Daeron from the slave traders. If not, he would have treated him no differently from - "
She blinked. "Who?"

"Yue and Yukito," Kara explained, "They're angels like me, but their wings are smaller and they can't pull them inside of them," she explained, "So everyone knew from the start they were different, I was told he tried to avoid the two during their stay."

"So more of your family came than was expected," Ulani mused with a grin. "Idiots aside, how did they enjoy their stay?"
She finished sewing the back of the kimono and looked for the sleeve parts, to start on them.

"Oh.. they enjoyed it quite a bit," Kara laughed at the thought as she began to sew up the sides hemming it so it wouldn't come undone, "Yukito spend his time in the library while Yue enjoyed his time in the training grounds."

Hmm ... she rather liked the idea of these outfits ... the design ...

"Yes, that is more their style," Kara nodded, "Yuki is capable of fighting, but he prefers not to."
Though the boy she thought had a hidden mischievious streak.

She wondered what colour of thread she should use for the embroidering.

Ulani's smile faded, and she lowered her sewing to the table slowly.
"Terexin ... was killed in the attack that nearly killed Ulrich," she said quietly, lowering her eyes. "He didn't even get a chance to fight back ..."
She sighed. "And now all of our children are gone."

"What?" Kara looked up from her sewing sharply, that couldn't be possible.
She blinked in disbelief, afterall he had struck her as someone who could take care of himself.
"All..." she murmured, "Ulani, who else was affected by this attack?"
