Kakuzen was more annoyed than afraid, during these memories he too filled up with hate to be afraid of anything. 'this is stupid...' he narrowed his eyes and growls "stop this" he squeezes tight his eyelids. Mind over matter, the jutsu loses its effect and disperses. Kakuzen opened his eyes to see he is back in the Academy.

Sensei glanced at the kid and noted his gaze of comprehension. This kid had broken through the genjutsu. And people said that kids couldn't do it.
"Good," he said. "Now we'll just wait for Takamura here."
[When you break the genjutsu, you get these rewards: +5 exp, +2 Genjutsu (skill)

((Post action is back for me. But I already rolled here And being the lucky b*****d that I am, I got it on the first try.))
Suddenly as if someone had flicked off the light switch, the room grew eerily dark. Shin looked to his left and his right but he could no longer see anyone else around him. But this wasn’t so bad, his family often lived in darkness for their windows were always bored up, just incase an attack came through that route. What did frighten him was the image that lay before him, a reflection of himself in a nearby mirror. For what he saw in the mirror was not a handsome profile of himself but a husk of a man that appeared to be his father. Yet that was impossible, his father was dead. That could only mean..... that it was him. He chuckled to himself, “That’s impossible; I’m going to be a shinobi. I’m not going to run from battle.... I’m not going to be another failure of the Takamura clan...” He chokes as his chuckles turn into sobs as he falls deeper and deeper into despair. He looked at the face in the mirror again, this time from a pitiful position he now assumed on the floor. "No...NO!...NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" he yells out into the darkness. A darkness that seemed to consume him.
Suddenly amongst the darkness a light began to shine, small but still present. He turned his face to the light to see a form of himself that he knew, a young Shin that he usually saw in mirrors. This angelic form of himself reached out with a hand of compassion, beckoning him towards the light. He drew slowly towards it, for any relief in his current pit of depression. As he drew closer the light figure reached out its hand and slapped him hard in the face. “Wake up you idiot. You made a promise to do better than those that came before you; you vowed to become what they could not. Do not dwell at what might be but wake up from this nightmare and seize your future with your own two hands.” And with that the figure vanished but the light did not. The light was now on his cheek in the place where he had been hit, it grew to the point of consuming his body as he let his own words seep in. It was time to rejoin the living.
With a start Shin recovered from the genjutsu induced nightmare to find himself back where he was not five minutes ago in the academy. He looked around to see his peer had already broken out and everyone was waiting on him. He scratched his head in embarrassment and returned to an attentive position. "Sorry to keep yall waiting."

(way to go on the first roll!)
Kakuzen notices his class mate phasing from the illusion. He looks over at his teacher and then revolves back to Nakamura as he breaks the genjutsu. "...welcome back" he said, his voice a bit darkened. His attention faced to the Teacher's "well then...what was that about?..." he was intrigued by the technique but also feeling as though the teacher had seen his memory.

"That was your worst nightmare," Sensei said. "A genjutsu called Magen: Narakumi no Jutsu. It'll be a while before you can create illusions like that, though."
He paused. "However for the time being this will only be a teaser of what is to come. We will pick up on genjutsu again in the near future. Our main aim today is to start conditioning."
Everything ultimately boiled down to the endurance of the body in the end, and Sensei continued, "Meet me by the ocean and we'll continue from there." He then made several hand seals and disappeared, leaving only mist in his wake.

"hmph...endurance" he was naturally weak, he never had to do any hard work in his life. He sighs and glances at Takamura before treading off to the Ocean front of Kirigakure.

The last exercise was pretty draining on Shin and as he departed for their rendezvous he was still not in tip top condition. He walked a bit slow and lagged behind his classmate, leaving late and walking slow. He needed sometime to clear his head and a long slow walk to the beach would do just fine.
