Um...I'm talking to my friend and am possibly converting her to Phanness.

And how is that a referance? o_o

iono, 'cause we're talking about how annoyingly high-pitched OLC Carlotta is compared to ALW Carlotta? I don't know...

This has probably been done, but i'm short on time sooo...
There was nother more recent episode of the simpsons where they go to Italy I believe and meet up with sideshow bob, and as they are escapeing him they amanage to end up on a stage and Homer gets liek a cape and mask and starts sing-mocking the Phanom (He says something like I'm the lamest monster, I like flowers and music or something) It made me laugh and want to hit a fictional charater at the same time.

I never saw that one...but I probably would have thrown something at my TV.

Refrences...refrences.....oh yeah. i remember one now:

"What are you talking about? He's not some sort of Phantom."
"Yes he is! He's the Phantom of the Opera!"

er...I was talking to my friend how Erik vanishes suddenly. They didn't get it.

I hereby revive this thread!
Two new references.
I was flipping through the channels last night and saw this episode of Courage the Cowardly Dog that's set in a theater, and Courage goes up to the rafters covered in powder, the villain sees him and immediatly screams "It's a Phantom!" and dives down off the catwalks
Second, Zelda: Twilight Princess is officially now my favorite game ever. In one level, the Arbitor's Grounds, there are chandieliers all over the level, and you have to pull them up to get underneath them before they crash back down, and it's possible to drop the chandieliers on the enemies in the level.

I remember one!

I was watching PotC2 with my brother and at the scene where Davy Jones is playing the organ, my brother said "Hey, it's the Phantom, Octopus-style!". xd

My band director said that he just got finished playing a piece with Dies Irae in it. I guess that's a refrence, but I'm not sure...

Dies Irae is part of Mozart's Requiem. Not a PotO referance since it's never been used in any phantom-related thing. People tend to link Toccata and Fugue in D Minor with PotO, though.

Well, there was picture of the phantom from the ALW musical in my math textbook last year, if that counts.

Oh! Algebra I textbook? I had the same book. XD My friend found it and showed me and I screamed, grabbed his book, and refused to be consoled.

I was watching comedian Richard Jeni (RIP, Richard) on HBO doing stand-up. He started riffing on circumcision and made a rather ...indelicate reference to PotO. Needless to say, it is impossible to scream "Phantom!" while laughing hysterically without falling down.

Hm...that's interesting. But, in the Leroux book, Dies Irae is mentioned...eh, it's not used enough in the Phantom performances/books/whatever to be called a refrence. I suppose the same goes for Kyrie Eleison?

It was an Algebra II textbook. It was towards the very beginning of the book. Page 32 IIRC. I think the same textbook also had a picture of the chandelier or something like that, but I can't quite remember. I'm in pre-calculus/trig now, and will be taking AP Calculus AB next year smile .

Oh. XP I'll be looking in a Algebra II book later then. They had a picture of him in my Algebra I textbook.

There's that one episode of Family Guy, "Deep Throats", where Peter makes a reference to the phantom of the opera, and yells at him to take off his mask.
