Haucon shrugged. "That's a good question, never really thought about it." he paused. "Probably they were once useful, but with the Fairy Portals, flying is a bit out dated...still I'm surprised that Vanessa doesn't have wings..." he trailed off looking to the others.

He turned back to her and smiled, and there was that look again. It was strange and intense. "Fairies and humans have inter-bred in the past, and there's always chaenglings, but even they have wing stubs..." he said quietly.

Vanessa turned around and stared at the two. She then walked over to them. "My father is human, and my mother is a fairy. As I said, when I die, I will become full fairy and sprout wings." Vanessa said. "Listen, I'm sorry for making an... Uncomfortable tension between us. And I'm fine with you staying." Vanessa said, with a warm smile. "Oh and don't worry, my father didn't do that, but he did far more cruel things..." Vanessa said, her smile fading into a deep frown, tears welling in her eyes.

Dream didn't answer any questions after his last, as they had acted too fast for him to respond. Well, that's what he got for thinking too long. Anyway, something was going on in his mind. He felt a disturbance in the air, a shift in the magical balence around them. There was another presence around them. Already out of the cave, he looked around for someone new... but nobody was there. On a sudden impulse, he looked up to the sky. And there it was.

There was an angel up there, slowly circling down towars them, apparently worrying that they would harm her. Well, some of them might... but not if he could help it. Time for another introduction.

Keeping out of the others' sight, he jumped up into the air, using his powers to keep him airborn. After years and years of practice, he had finally developed an efficient way of using the air to fly. So he did so, and made his way up to the angel. He smiled at her. "I'm not going to hurt you, I just wish to greet you."

Vanessa sat down on the ground, and her face became flushed. "He... He... He'd try to kill me..." Vanessa said, letting the tears she'd been holding back for so long out. "While i wasn't looking... Or while I was sleeping, he'd come with a knife or a gun... Or whatever he could find... And he..." Vanessa turned her head away, so no one could see the tears flowing down her red face. "He'd force me to do things... Like once he made me jump off a cliff... But I didn't do it... And I got hurt... Not from the cliff, but from him." Vanessa said, turning back around. "Listen, I'd be so happy to be you right now, Leila. Because you didn't have a father who hated you... Who tried to kill you..."

Haucon sighed, what was this? He'd become a magnate for sorrow today. He listened to Vanessa's story and nodded to her. He didn't really know what to do. Luckily his thoughts were interrupted. From the corner of his eye, he saw Dream's feet leave the ground and immediately he looked up. There was something up there. He remembered what he'd thought Vanessa was originally and realized that this new being must be an angel. He looked back to Violet, hoping she wouldn't do anything violent.

Haucon heart raced as Violet took to the air. She can't do that damnit! his mind yelled. She swooped back to Earth that evil grin on her face, and began to stalk toward them. He was on his feet, knife in hand, trying to keep her from Leila and Vanessa who were still sitting on the ground in an emotional state, and trying to keep her distracted long enough for the angel to escape. "Oi!" he said. "What's your mischief?"
