(( Hey, I knew you were just throwing out counter points. I'm not offended in the least... Is this the only thread in RPS that's still active? What's with the mage tourney, and role-playing dungeons???))
Lazeras smiled lightly, taking a sip of the drink again, and rested the shield over the side of his chair. "Ah, but you see, stabbing the mage as a Lich would not work, for the great Lich are immue to the bite of cold steel. The arcane arts, and detesting to you as they may be, have many uses out in some of the older ruins in the land. Many creatures out there can only be harmed by the "detestable arts" as you refer to them."
He grinned lightly, waiting to counter whatever the vangard could throw at him.

"So young and spunky, think you know it all do you? Perhaps at one time I was a mage? Could you tell from looking at me? No? Well even if I don't have "Arcane Arts" an enchanted blade is as good as any? I have stolen a repertoire of them. not to mention in a hypothetical situation like that the lich would be too detoured by its own rotten brain to conceive of all the tricks I know. Gerbo himself could only guess a handful, lich or no lich. Though if you really want to find out i suppose the only true way to know would be for me to kill him wouldn't it?" waving his hand through the air nonchalantly three daggers appeared between his knuckles then fell back into nothingness with a flick of the wrist. "Tell me, you seem to have a odd smell about you. Perhaps your going to that new school for necromancy and "Dark arts"? Now what sort of mage would want to study so much on liches and foul creatures like those? Perhaps one who wished to create one? Or one who admires them? Perhaps someone who fears them?" Taking a break he swigs another long drink from the dwarven ale and shudders cracking joints being heard like dice hitting the floor. "The fighter is the only one here aside from gerbo that seems to be interesting. Not usual for a swordsman to devote his time to magic as swordsmanship requires large amounts of time to perfect. One could say it was a philosophy not an practice. So to see someone torn between magic and might makes me wonder a bit myself. What would drive a mage to adopt a sword or a swordsman to practice magic?"

Piro stepped into the Tavern, looking around with a look of calm on his face. Taking a quick glance around the room, he stepped up to the bar and sat next to the Outlander. "You would be the legendary Red Dragon would you? The greatest of the Arena leaders, correct?" He looked forward as he spoke, showing no outward sign of having spoken. "Two cups of Silt Brandy."
He calmly looked towards the Outlander. "So, I don't suppose you would mind a friendly duel between you and me, would you?" He handed the second mug of the unusual Brandy to the Outlander. "If you wish... We could even place a wager on our duel." He smiled, "You are the famous Red Dragon though, and I don't have much to my name here. I can offer at best a charm that gives you endurance." He smiled as he spoke, waiting for a reply.
((Sorry that I'm not on the active adventurers list, I've confirmed that my profile is fine, he just hasn't gotten around to editting it in. You can find it in profile submissions. I'm wagering an Otter Charm, what about you?))

Fury saunters into the tavern, looking around. "Interesting place", he thought to himself. "What is that strange miasma in the air, sucking the very will out of the local adventurers?" He continued silently. Fury sensed their willingness, even eagerness at the thought of battle. Yet not one of them was out crawling dungeons, destroying the inhabitants and claiming their treasure. Moving to a quiet corner Fury sat, pondering the strange situation.
*Not on the approved adventurer's list yet, but with the post action bar down, I guess it makes little difference. Hopefully, everything will be fixed soon. I want to give this battle system a workout!* mrgreen

Piro sighed and sat up. Looking over at Fury, he smiled. "You pretty new also? Perhaps you'd care for a quick training session outside." Piro waved his head dejectedly. "Sadly, there's no new news of places to go. So, it would seem we merely have to wait. Still, nothing to prevent us from entertaining ourselves in some way, right?"

Addressing Piro, Fury says,"True, true we should find adventure wherever we may. But without the blessings of the powers-that-be, I am reluctant to press further..."

Pro waves his hands. "At the very least, we can try training with each other. Mind doing a quick training match? I'd love to get a feel for your style." He stood up. Looking at the door.
((If you wanna try a quick match, we can go into the main forums to do it. Care for a match?))

Fury stands, interested at the prospect of getting some practice in. "Sounds good to me, where do you want to do this?

Luc slithers into the tavern, quickly glances at the adventurers sitting at the bar, and walks over to it. As if he just wants to keep to himself he quietly asks for some hot water, almost in a whisper. Slightly confused at why Luc would only want hot water instead of a soft drink or something the bartender debates asking why before seeing Luc's pale skin and the look of slight inner anguish and exhaustion on his face. The bartender gets Luc his water and minds his business. Luc then adds some powder from a pouch to his water and stirs it up. He then moves to a dark corner to sit in the shadows, drink his tea, and waits for something interesting to happen.

Fury enters the Tavern once again, noticing the shy-seeming young man in the corner. Moving to the bar, he says,"You wouldn't perchance, happen to have any tea back there, would you?" The bartender gives a quiet sigh, bends down and pulls out a old-looking jar. The lid is well sealed however, making an audible pop when opened. Mixing some leaves into the hot water, he pushes it towards Fury, a slight smirk on his face. "Thank you," Fury says, taking a table near the quiet young man.

After a few minuets of quietly enjoying his tea, Luc hears the door to the tavern open and sees an eager looking man enter the room. Noticing the glimmer of sweat on his face, Luc decides that the man must have been doing something physical, and by the looks of his armor and weapons, it was probably a fight. The jolly looking adventurer walks over to the bar and gets something, then comes over and sits near Luc. Not wanting any trouble, and not wanting to have to explain his reason for anguish Luc sips some of his tea, slinks a little more into the shadows, and stays quiet.

Fury studies the young man, unsure as to whether he should try to engage him in conversation. Judging by the sad expression upon his face, it would seem that something is bothering the young man. Clearing his throat, Fury says,"Excuse me, but is everything alright? You seem a bit out of sorts at the moment. If you would like to talk, I would be happy to listen. My name is Fury." Sitting back casually, Fury awaits a response.

"Luc" He says in a soft voice not moving a muscle. "And as for my condition I'd rather not talk about it." He takes another sip of tea, and decides that this stranger means him no harm. "Fury huh? You look like you've been dancing... Did you beat him?"
