Laguna's skin and clothing crackled along with the cloud.

"An angry lemon that is telling us we should find shelter soon," he sat up and put his things back into the pack, then stood and dressed himself with his sword. "C'mon, we can travel together," he said happily, his golden eyes sparkling.

Madison smiled even more wildly than before, that was the first time she had ever seen him smile and look rather happy. And he had very pretty eyes as well.

She then sat herself off the ground and stood to her feet, dusting her bottom off from the left over grass and dirt that could be located on her black skirt and red jacket.

"Maybe we'll run into the man with the big hat too!" She grinned wickedly at the thought.

Laguna chuckled at the thought as well.

"You know, it's a good thing we started talking," he began sweetly, "otherwise I was going to make you my supper," he smiled softly and started the pace onward.

Madison freezed slightly in her place and then quickly caught up with him, it wasn't the first time she almost ended up as someone's meal.

The thunder crackled much more loudly, which caught the rabbit by surprised. This resulted her letting out a rather high pitched yelp and jumping a few feet foreward, then resulting in her landing on her face. Again the thunder boomed once more.

"I'm sorry Lemon! I didn't mean it!" Her voice was rather shaky in fear over the sound of the thunder, and she slowly got up...looking up at the cloud sadly.

Quickly, she moved over beside Laguna and attempted to use him as a shield of sorts. But it didn't work all too well do to the height difference.

In a section of the Plains near a lone tree, a figure dressed in white would be seen. He lay on his back, the tree being atop a hill of sorts, and the figure in white lay with his feet downhill, and his head up towards the tree. He was looking up at the sky and the clouds, a soft breeze blowing the fluffy white blobs of water vapor around his view, twisting them into all sorts of shapes. It was still sunny, and warm enough to be comfortable. For miles around the only sound was the wind blowing through the long grass and the branches of the tree. And the sweet smell of warm grass drifted lazily over the figure as he sat there, thinking, dreaming, and pondering...

Ow!

The silence was broken, by a small out cry and a dry thud. How...how someone misses the very tree they were looking for and manages to walk directly into it...is a mystery. But Maximos did it. It was like he was a lost for a moment, trying to get his bearings, staring at everything and nothing before it all became clear.

Ah! Ok, there it is.

He said to no one in particular, not yet realizing that he had was company! He reached out to the tree, laying his naked left palm on it, feeling it, before it clicked.

Oh! Hi Ryugi!

Ryugi blinked and turned at the familiar voice to spy Maximos.

Max! I haven't seen you in AGES! And to think we meet out here of all places.

Ryugi pushed himself up off the ground and turned to face his shadowy friend. He cracked his neck and stretched before stretching out his arm for a handshake. He hadn't seen his good friend since before the Barton Town disaster, and that seemed like it was months and months ago.

How have you been? What have you been up to?
PostPosted: Mon Aug 20, 2007 4:00 pm

Yes! Indeed! I most certainly did not see that coming.

He responded in like friendliness extending his hand out to shake Ryugi's. Oddly enough, the first time he missed, a bit to far to the left, but he squinted and fixed himself allowing their hands to meet in a firm shake. It really had been quite some time, fate had an on way of bumping them into each other.

Me?

He said with a grin.

Exploring, making friends, seeing what there is to see. How about you?

Ryugi shook his friend's hand and then leaned up against the tree. Alot had happened since the last time he and Maximos had chatted. Quite a bit, actually.

Wow, where to start?

Ryugi chuckled a bit and brushed his hand through his hair, scratching his head as he thought.

Well, I did some fighting in Barton Town a while ago. It fell to undead hordes, you know. I did what I could, but there were just too many for me to handle by myself. I was able to end Moonblade's existance for a short while, until an undead mage brought him back. I ended up getting myself nearly killed for my trouble too. But hey, what's a guy like me to do, right? Comes with the job I suppose.

Ryugi sighed, then took a deep breath and moved on.

After that, I was in a coma of sorts for several weeks, and once I came out of it, I couldn't stand being bed ridden, so I snuck out of the apartment and went to wander Latent. I ended up doing some odd jobs around there too. I helped this old man watch the docks, and wound up releasing him from a curse and getting this weird gold coin for my work. He passed on after the curse was lifted. He was a good man.

So many things. Ryugi was lucky Max was a good listener. The Adamants knew Ryugi was long-winded.

Last thing I did before I wound up here was removing a creature from the Latent Docks. Poor thing had gotten lost and hurt. Another adventurer and I wound up returning the little guy back to Guldor. Overall it was a pretty good trip. After that, I got back and headed here to unwind for a bit.

And listen he did. His arms folded across his chest, an occasional nod here and there. At one point he even made a phantom adjustment of his glasses, running a finger up the bridge of his nose only to realize halfway there, nothing was there.

He wouldnt interrupt, but afterward he did laugh just a bit while he spoke.

My my, you've certainly been busy! I saw what happened to Barton myself, quite unfortunate that.

And, like turning a page.

So, how goes the unwinding?

Ryugi shrugged and shifted position against the tree.

Oh, the unwinding goes well. But not much has been going on lately. Its strange. Like everything is waiting for something.

Ryugi shrugged and leaned off of the tree. He then took a moment to look around at the plains.

This sure is a beautiful place. Its a shame there aren't alot of these places left.

And if something is coming...

Maximos said, looking up into the sky and then forward across the horizon.

There may not be any left...

That was a gloomy thought. And on such a bright day, thoughts like that should not be nurtured and allowed to pollute. On that note, Maximos acted.

All the more reason to enjoy the serenity while it lasts! How're things on Angara, Ryugi?

Now THATS something I have first hand knowledge of. Vargus' father is a member of the Dragon High Council, and she receives letters from him every now and again. But to tell you the truth, I haven't been back there since before I met up with you, Ruuvan and D.

Ryugi looked around the plains once more, then turned to face his friend.

But when I left it, everything was in good shape.

Mhmmmm....

Maximos said dragging out that last "mmm", while he turned to face the horizon.

You know...

He said, with his eyes focused on the distance.

...I've always wanted to visit Angara myself but, surrounded with dragons and dragon culture I doubt I'd fit in, or get much out of the trip...

He raised his right hand, from its folded position and loosely scratched his chin.

If only...I had a guide of sorts...someone that maybe, grew up there....

He smirked to himself, tossing Ryugi an over the shoulder hinting grin.

Ryugi laughed.

Well, if its a guided tour you want, I'd be happy to give you one. Who else but their most recent National Hero to give you a tour of his country.

Ryugi smiled and looked to the sky.

So, how bout it?
