The scarabs stared at Risca with beetly eyes, their small, hard shells reflecting the sparse night in the alleyway he was in. He took a few steps back until he was pressed up to the brick wall, and shot a round of bullets not by them, but near them.

As Tay stepped down from the slightly raised platform, she slowly cocked an eyebrow, and turned to Kit. "Do...do your computers and other electronics ever have an attitude? I'm trying to fix my own. It talks back to me."
