(( - ooks up the page- You were saying something about a queen...))
"Ack! I'm so sorr--" Sumi's attempt at an apology was cut off as Kiyo's kick sliced through the air. She managed to maneuver so she wouldn't be cut open, but even so, the kick launched her a ways down the ice until she finally skidded to a stop. She clambered to her feet, wincing. Spaz," she muttered.
She started to skate down the ice. Picking up speed, she whizzed towards Kiyo, and then at the last second, pulled to the side and behind him. She kicked at his knees.

[You haven't guessed that yet? Well you are the successor to the Queen of Puzzles, the previous vice-captain of the guild. Thought you'd might want to beef up a bit. razz XD]
Last second techniques had less of an effect on Kiyo than most fighters. Even with his powers suppressed, he still had fast reactions. Just like Fire Elementals can't be OH-KOed or how Water Elementals are so freakin' smart. It's just something that comes in the package. Anyway, back to the fight.
Kiyo leapt high to dodge Sumi's kick, and using the staff has a counter-balance he twisted in mid-air and sent his own aerial kick at the girl's shoulder.
[Hang on, how the heck did he just balance on a pole...on ice!? He's not that good, he'd slip and come a tumblin' down...]
Or...that's what Kiyo would've done if he was Jet Li. Instead, he anticipated the kick from the rear and blocked with the staff in reverse.
CLANG!!
Sparks flew. The impact sent Kiyo sliding forward. But before he was out of range, he quickly spun around and twirled the metal at her face. The very tip of the staff flew up to meet her in the cheek.

((XD Your post made me chuckle. =D ))
Sumi bit her lip as her foot collided with the metal pole. Not the best feeling in the world. When the tip of the metal pole came flying at her face, she ducked backwards, trying to do a matrix dodge.
Of course, Sumi doesn't quite have that much coordination sometimes.
She leaned too far backwards, and ended up falling over, managing to avoid landing on her head, but still causing herself pain. "That wasn't too smart..." she muttered, scrambling on the ice to get away from Kiyo while she was in such a helpless position.
--------------- Darkshock's Edition
Time slowed.
Sumi's eyes widened, her sapphire irises contracting into points. A small feminine gasp escaped her lips as she registered Kiyo's movements. The metal pole was slowly inching itself up at her face [which means it was going really fast!]. Just a touch and she'd be seeing stars. There was no where to go but back.
And back she went.
"Nngh!" Sumi grunted as she tossed her entire weight behind her. Her body responded and she, ever so slowly, leaned out of the way of the attack. The wind from his move harmlessly blew her brown bangs back. She kept going back...and back...and back...
Now's a good time for me to stop...
Time resumed.
And the hard ice floor was in her field of vision as she plummeted down towards the floor.
WHUMP!!
Sumi slid around helplessly around on the ice, wincing in pain. But she had just managed to avoid breaking her delicate face on the floor. Instead, she had chosen her shoulder for such an abuse. "That wasn't too smart." From now on, she'd let Neo do the bullet-time-dodging. She attempted to regain her footing, but she only slipped again. Hopefully, Kiyo wouldn't decide to use her as a hockey puck before she got back on her feet. Her face was suddenly a deep crimson.
This is embarrassing...I'm supposed to have the advantage here...wahhh!!
[I just couldn't pass this opprotunity to write a cool post...even if it wasn't my own, writing this was way fun. Matrixdodge for the win!!]

[ ;0 No prob!! Let's keep moving! Go go go go!!]
BZZZZZZ!!!
The oversized scoreboard alerted to a change in score. It now read:
Sumi: 01
Kiyo: 01
The Master grinned toothily and tsked at Sumi's predicament. Shaking his head, he jabbed the pole into the ice and put his hands on his hips. "Maybe I'm pushing you a little too hard...want me to slow down a bit?" It was true. He was pushing Sumi a lot harder than when he was with Vivi. Then again, she could take alot more, he was sure of that fact.
"Get up." He ordered. "Time for Round 3!"

((XD That's hilarious! Your writing skills are amazing!))
"N-no," she stuttered, pushing herself to her feet. "I'm okay... I think." She dusted some of the snow off her pants as she slid a few feet backwards to put more space between them. Absently rubbing her shoulder where it had collided with the ice, she called,"I'm ready when you are,".

He nodded at Sumi and dashed at her, leaving his pole behind him. Seeing as they were tied, the next person to score would win this first half. He didn't mention that to Sumi, as he didn't want it to affect her fighting.
Once he was about five feet from her, he dropped down on his side and slid along the floor, blades first, to trip her up. Ice shavings flew up into the air in front of him as he seemed to pick up speed from the fall.
[Showtime, Sumi!]

((OMG! That's EXACTLY the move I thought of when I clicked on this thread!))
Sumi moved quickly away to the side, and then angled her foot so Kiyo would have to scramble to avoid the blade.

[lulz its alright, I have been playing alot of Street Fighter recently. Watch out, cause I learned a couple things!
...that pole is still stuck in the ice where I left it...*hinthinto-winkwinko*]
Kiyo saw the blade coming for his face and rolled away from it. He got back up and skated around, keeping himself low to the ground as he circled the Ice Master. Keeping his eyes on her, he decided that he try to anticipate her next move. If he could, then this round would be over soon.
DOMM!! DOMM!! DOMMM!! DOMMM!!
Techno continued to blare out of the speakers.
[In this kind of situation, it would be easy to just attack Kiyo head-on. But...what if you took a different approach, now that you have the advantage? Think outside the box, I dare you. ninja ]

Xzavior walked into the Phantom HQ, his cane created from hardened phantom energy tapping against the floor. "Well, now, i reckon this place is nice." He said, takign a seat on a chair that happened to be sitting there.

Sumi dashed over to where the pole was embedded in the ice. Grunting a little (for it was DEEP in there) she dislodged it. Swinging it around to gain momentum, she threw it in the path of the running Kiyo. It spun wildly through the air, the vibrating metal giving off a slight whistle.

[Ya'know, as I read your post it made me think of...well...nevermind...on with the show! redface ]
Kiyo suspected that she might pick up that weapon, but not actually hurling it at him the way she did. He raised his arms in front of his face to block the incoming projectile.
TWACK!!
The metal pole bounced off of Kiyo's arms and flipped somewhere behind him, not without doing some damage first. He winced at the pain in his forearms as he lowered them, keeping his eyes on Sumi.
...Jeez, what is she? Some kind of baseball pitcher from space? That hurt!
He exhaled his held breath and moved in at the girl with a couple fast skates. Using his momentum, he front-flipped and launched a suicidal axe kick at Sumi's body.

((...No comment. XD And I did play softball for a few years. Lol.))
Sumi gave a little inward cheer as she metal pole reached its target. She had been slightly worried that Kiyo would magically dodge it with his lightning-fast reflexes, pun intended.
Her own reflexes were about to be put to the test as Kiyo flipped around in a gravity-defying maneuver. Using her pro-backwards skating skills, Sumi scooted a few feet backwards, out of the range of the kick. If all went according to plan, Kiyo would be off balance even if he managed to land it, and then she could go on the attack.

BAM!!!
Crr-rrck...Kiyo's powerful kick had sent his foot through the ice and several small thread-like cracks began to split the ice. This was both a blessing and a curse. On a good note, he didn't slip and fall like he anticipated he would when he missed, however...as he soon found out...
Ah. Crud.
Yup, it was wedged in there alright. He gave it a yank and stumbled a bit, almost losing the small balance that he had.
