Solaris entered the Pokemon Center quietly, determined to ignore the stares of the other trainers. She walked up to the front desk and placed Orion on it. "Would you mind healing my pokemon for me?" she questioned quietly. Nurse Joy flashed a smile and nodded, picking up the charmander and taking him to the back room. Orion gave her a sleepy smile as they walked off, and Sol returned it.
About ten minutes later Nurse Joy returned with Orion, who was sleeping, but appeared to be alright. "Thanks." Sol took her pokemon in one arm and pulled out her access card before walking towards the stairs.
She traversed two sets of stairs and came to the third floor, where the 700's were located. She began walking down the hallway, looking at each one. 707, 709, 711... Ah, there it was. She slid the card through the lock and it flashed green. She pushed down on the handle and walked into their temporary room, her eyes locked on the number for a moment. 713, she thought as she walked in. Good luck and bad luck numbers. A coincidence?
She shook her head of such thoughts and closed the door behind her, locking it quickly. She then looked around; it looked like a simple, albeit large, one room with a bathroom and balcony. Rather hotel-like, in all. Quickly she set the sleeping Orion down on the bed, along with her stuff, before shedding her coat and boots and heading into the bathroom. She wanted a shower.

Sol walked out of the bathroom around fifteen minutes later, her hair no longer tied back and instead just hanging limp and wet. She looked around and saw Orion sitting at the balcony door -wide glass doors that slid open- looking out at the sun, low in the sky. About 3:45, Sol would guess. She walked over to the bed and shrugged on her coat over top of her usual outfit.
Orion turned and glanced up at her, then covered a yawn with his paw. Sol sighed; she was feeling a bit worn out herself, having skipped lunch and breakfast. She glanced out the balcony window again and then flopped down on the bed. Orion jumped up next to her, the heat from his tail and the sunlight streaming in making her feel better.
Sol turned her head to look out the window, where they had a good view of the beach and the ocean. Not a bad view at all. She yawned, her eyes growing heavy, and allowed herself to relax into the bed, soon falling asleep.

Sol woke up a couple hours later to a red and gold sunset against a black ocean. She yawned and stretched, sitting up. Beside her Orion yawned and sleepily awoke. She looked outside onto the beach; it was mostly empty.
"Let's go outside after some dinner," Sol murmured, getting off the bed. She tied her hair back into a ponytail and put her things into her backpack, walking towards the door. Orion jumped off the bed and followed her, and they walked downstairs to get some of the food the pokemon center provided.

Around twenty-five minutes later, Sol left the pokemon center with Orion. Both had had a good meal and were heading for the beach now.
Solaris paced down a boardwalk and into the beachfront, her white boots sinking into the dark sand. She walked down to the shoreline, hands in her pockets, and stood in the surf, staring into the sunset. The golds and scarlets...it made very a pretty sunset. A reminder of so many things. She blinked, and shook herself. No need to go there.
She kicked her boot and sent a spray of water up before walking back out onto drier sand. She sat down in it, spreading her cloak out underneath her.

Sammy and Squirt came from Twinleaf, happy to finally be through to the next town. "Let's go to the beach!" She said to Squirt, who nodded as a response. They sauntered along, soon coming to the sandy water-meet-land area. There, they saw a person sitting in the sand. Only then did Sammy realized that she had no idea how to get to the next city, or anywhere else for that matter. She would need help. She tip-toed over to the person, hoping not to disturb her. "Excuse me?" She asked. "Can you help me get to the next town?"

Solaris jumped as the other trainer suddenly spoke a question after having snuck up on her. She closed her eyes, berating herself; she should have been more alert. This...lull...in recent activities involving a certain team must have made her softer.
She sighed quietly and stood up, brushing the sand off her pants and the toes of her white boots before turning around. She watched the girl for a moment, then replied.
"Jubilife, I assume?" she said quietly, frowning inside. She looked vaguely familar. Perhaps it was nothing; she dismissed it within seconds. "Yeah, I suppose I can help you get there if you like." After all, Sol had passed through this area, albeit briefly, on her way from Veilstone to Twinleaf, and to Kanto from there.
Orion looked up from where he was playing in the sand, heating up grains with his flaming tail, and saw a squirtle. He brightened; squirtle were given out at the same lab as charmanders. He walked over excitedly, his tail swinging back and forth.

Squirt looked at the Charmander, his head tilted at an awkward angle. "Squirtle-squirt?" He questioned, which would most likely translate to, "Who're you?" Sammy grinned at the trainer that she didn't know, happy to have someone who she could semi-trust. "I'm Sammy Valentine; nice to meet you!" she exclaimed happily, her characteristic childish grin flashing across her face like a nightlight. She held out her hand, in expectance of a handshake.

Solaris mentally sweatdropped at the trainer's grin. Such a happy, bubbly person...This would be fun. Still, she nodded coolly in response, shaking the trainer's hand. "I'm Solaris," she said quietly, feeling no need to trust Sammy with her whole name just yet. It sounded too odd, the name Solaris Lycoris, and it served only as another reminder. "Or just Sol, if you prefer."
Orion smiled at the squirtle, laughing slightly. "Charmander-char. Char char?" he responded. "I'm Orion. Who're you?" The charmander held out his tiny paw for a handshake, flexing his small claws.

Squirt took the pokemon's paw and returned the shake. "Squirtle, squirt!" He said, translating to, "Hi, I'm Squirt!" He didn't want to explain that his trainer had had a brain-fart when she was thinking of names, so he just left it at that.
Sammy listened to the name; it sounded cool! "Okay then, Sol; have you caught any pokemon?" She seemed very curious; she hadn't caughten a pokemon yet, and she had actually hoped to catch one in Sandgem.

"No," Sol answered, smiling slightly. "I'm looking for a shinx. How about yourself?" She tensed as she heard a quiet rustle in the beach grass behind her and turned sharply, startling a starly into flying out.
Orion looked up after shaking Squirt's paw. Ooh, another battle. The charmander grinned maliciously and leaped to attention.
"Orion!" Sol barked. "Ember attack on that starly!" Orion nodded and jumped up, shooting tiny embers into the starly's face. Red-hot coals made the bird squawk in surprise and turn to face the charmander, angry.

Sammy and Squirt both watched the little fire pokemon shoot embers at the foe, amazed. "Wow..." Sammy muttered. She couldn't help but wonder if her pokemon would be able to do moves as cool as that, too.

The starly squealed at the sudden pain and used quick attack, slamming into Orion with its hard beak and sending him flying into a nearby rock. Sol watched, her eyes worried. Orion struggled back up though, ready to fight.

"Finish it off with scratch," Sol finished, her voice calm now that her pokemon had proven himself able to take that hit. Orion nodded and bared his teeth, leaping at the starly once more. He scratched across its breast and the pokemon collapsed to the ground, worn out. After a couple minutes it found the strength to fly away.

"Good job," she congratulated her pokemon, reaching down and spraying a potion or two over him to restore his health.

Sammy watched as Orion finished the bird off, sending it flying away from the battle. "Wow--That was awesome!" Sammy cried, thrusting her fist into the air. Squirt did a similiar move, but his consisted of him slapping his trainer's leg at the end. "Ouch..."
