Ssssst.

"What the...?"

Jack heard the plea, being just outta range of those crystals. He wouldn't be for long though.

Out of the tub, through a quick wiping of the towl, into his night camo suit, kevlar plates and other equipment, and then out the door. A three minute drill he'd been through back in the core.

As his boots slammed against the ground, he fixed his hi-tech glasses and the ear piece. Then he'd withdraw his two barrettas, making his way cautiously to the downstairs. Then with the toe-to-heel method, being silent, Jack Handy would make his way down the steps.

Training in spec-ops meant there'd not be the slightest sound as Jack made his way to the bottom of the steps, holding his left baretta before his eyes before he ever made himself visable to the patrons.

Jack would be looking in the reflection off the side of the gun for some sign of where the target might be.

Flare gave an exasperated look in the panicked girl's direction, though she couldn't see Owle. The demoness rolled her eyes. "What in the seven hells is wrong with you, Owle?"

She had been fooling around outside with the military guy, and now she was all freaked out by something.

Flare saw no threats, unless some unseen spirits were assaulting the girl. Somehow, Flare doubted it, as Owle wasn't in any more pain than she had been moments ago.

Puzzled by the action Gammu looked over at Gamma. Could it have been the knife? He had never met someone afraid of knives; but he had read reports of individuals that were just deathly afraid of sharp objects.

No, that was too absurd. Shaking his head he looked back to the bar and began talking to his brother.

"No, there's someone. She just ducked behind the bar for some odd reason. I think you might have scared her."

Gammu paused for a moment, something else was happening. Someone was trying to sneak down the stairs by the bar. There was a gun in the man's hand. His voice would drop to a whisper as he kept looking over at the bar, keeping the puzzled look on his face.

"We got problems. Ready your mag."

With one hand hanging over the edge of his chair the other one was hidden from the other's view by his back as he looked over his shoulder to see the bar. With his jacket already open he slid his hand to a spot beneath his left arm and grabbed something firm.

He wasn't going to wave it around like a lunatic so he kept it hidden under his coat despite having it out of the holster.

Looking back at Gamma Gammu raised his voice to a normal tone.

"Forgot my smokes, you got any?"

"Those two men..." Again Owle would be broadcasting to those named previously, though Jack probably couldn't hear her anymore. But it would be quite clear to those who heard that she was speaking of the two drunks in the pinstripe suites, Gamma and Gammu.

"We met them during the game of chaos, the hunt for the petals. They almost killed Rage and opaj."

A tiny bit of the fear in her voice would leak through. What in the world were they doing walking into this bar?

And as I recall, you struck first.

Flare had no power to broadcast, so her thoughts went to Owle alone.

Owle, they were mercenaries, hired to get the petals with any means necessary. They hold no grudge against you, nor Rage, nor opaj. Simply warriors, they did their job. As I would have were I in their place. If they attack you, I will kill them, but you have no reason to fear them or attack them now. The demoness had felt what the others likely had not...the undercurrent to Owle's explanation.

We met them during the game of chaos, the hunt for the petals. They almost killed Rage and opaj. Now I'd like to see them hurt, or at least gone from my sight.

Owle hid it well, even from herself at times.

She couldn't hide it from Flare.

"Forgive my sister!" Flare called to the two men from where she was seated. She wasn't fool enough to approach them when one of them had a knife and the other had a hand under his coat. He could be reaching for something innocent, but one didn't live for 2000 years by making comforting assumptions.

She had overheard enough of their conversation to know that they were looking for a waitress, and had seen Owle's panic attack.

"She gets a bit jumpy around new people sometimes. She's afraid you're carrying unclean spirits or somesuch. I don't know what to do with her."

Shaking her head in mock despair after the lie, she quietly, slowly rose from her seat, and if her right hand strayed a little close to her rapier...well, what of it? "I'll see if I can rouse her."

Being further from the stairs than the Gams were, she completely failed to notice Jack.

Jack was listening intently on the two that had mentioned something about grabbing a mag. He holstered his right gun and rose his hand to adjust the ear piece slightly to zero in on those wave frequencies. His other ear picked up a bit on what Flare was saying, so knew not to enter just yet.

However, Jack Handy was pretty positive that his position was compromised and they were aware of him.

The man didn't want the place being shot up, so staid out of view. Right now was just a good time to sit back, and watch. A five meter radius around him had paranormal energies blocked, and he didn't want to jump in and hinder Flare with those negation crystals.

Damn.

Jack's eyes narrowed on the reflection in his left pistol, watching the two "drunks".

Giving Flare time to speak her peace, Gamma couldn't help but giggle at the spirit comment.

Did I say Giggle? I meant erupt in a fit of bellowing laughter that would probably shake the wooden parts of the bar. Hopefully no one was zooming in on the sound the Gams were making, with like, a specialized microphone or something. Ouch.

With a grin of the s**t-eating variety he watched as Flare went behind the bar to get the waitress to start waiting again. Disregarding what his brother said almost entirely and only proving he was listening by tossing a small colored pack of cigarettes onto the table, followed closely by a lighter.

"Aw, come on. Don't be shy," He offered a shrug, "My spirit is plenty clean."

Then turning slightly, cupping his mouth, he blasted some more words towards the stairs.
"YOU CAN COME OUT MR. I-WEAR-COMBAT-BOOTS."
Throwing a leg out to the side of the table exposing his own combat boot. Never wear bootsand rush around on the second story of a wooden building, if you're trying to be sneaky.

Pulling his hand from beneath his coat Gammu revealed to have nothing in his hand. A slight movement of his wrist had holstered his weapon and that was that. Leaning in his chair he reached out for the cigarettes and lighter.

Tapping the box he opened it up and took out one before tossing the box back to Gamma. Taking the cigarette he put it between his lips and set a flame to the end. Holding the rolled paper between two fingers he inhalled and then exhalled a cloud of smoke.

Pocketing the lighter in the process he grinned at where the man had tried to hide before staring at the bar.

"So can we get some drinks or not?"

((A slam timed pretty well with Owle diving for cover like the commies were invading.

Plus you were holding a practically mirrored pistol out in the doorway.

Edit: What Impact said. Including themselves.))

// Still dun see how one is going to know its combat boots from one slam.

~Shrugs and goes to post, deleting all his OOC.~ //

Just like his glasses would darken in a high flash to keep himself from being blinded, Jack's earpiece would blip silent whenever there was a sound that was dangerous of Jack's ears as for an explosion or someone with rediculous laughter.

Jack figured they were also soldiers, and knew exactly where to look for strange glints or glimmers. The thing about the boots, had to be a lucky guess for someone to take that off one slam on the second story of a building.

No matter.

Jack's right hand came out, gave them the middle finger, and before any action could be taken, he was heading back up the stairs.

His hair was still wet.
