Yet another fun filled week at school. Yay. stare

On a side note, your paper topic sounds similar to one that I had to do for a political science class (I think, or it could have been a biology class). It had to do with researching a current topic about land management in the local area, and I was assigned the conservation of the local Irish Hills. Stupid topic, as I couldn't find jack squat about it. In any case, I dropped out of the class the day it was due. Take that! P'shaw!

I'm not sure you should be promoting that kind of mentality on Gaia. The concept that you should just drop a class if you don't like your paper topic is both irresponsible and immature. Though it worked for you, in many colleges you can't drop classes after a certain period of time, and therefore most students would be forced to live deal with what they were given.

I think you should change your story so it reads:

"I was assigned the conversation on the local Irish Hills. Stupid topic, as I couldn't find jack squat about it. In any case, I made up a bunch of bullshit and got an A+! Take that! P'shaw!"

This promotes a much more stable work ethic as well as a more responsible and mature outlook on college life.

You above all people should know that making "the system" work for you is a tribute to one's own abilities. You don't break the rules, you just play by them to the best of your own ability. I did in fact withdraw from a class for the sake of not completing a rather large research paper. But by advising people to stay in the class and get an F only to have to take it again, rather than withdrawing, is the most insensable thing I can think of concerning this topic. Sure, it would have been better if I completed the assignment, but I still stand by my decision.

I'm not sure where you went to school where they let you withdraw from classes at whim. At CSUN we only get two weeks in which to drop classes, and after which it would literally take an act of god, or a car accident to let us drop them. And fighting that system is a losing battle. I know many horror stories of people who have tried and failed. Although, being able to drop classes as you wish is pretty spiffy.

At Cal Poly, we too only had two weeks to drop classes scotch-free. After that, we had 7 weeks to withdraw from a class. All it took was a signature from the instructor, which every one that I withdrew from easily gave. Sure, there would be the few who said no, but all in all, that never happened to me. In fact, I did a lot of stuff that I wasn't "supposed" to be able to do, like take two classes that shared the same time slot.

That's rather impressive.

Took the Unit 2 Test for AP World History. I definitely got above 70 on the multiple choice section (I completely forgot everything I knew about the bedouins.). I stared at the DBQ prompt for a full three minutes before I even understood what it was asking. But I'm confident that I didn't do so badly.

Also, I have been dreaming lately, which is a fairly rare occurance here. They have been very psychological in nature and interesting and I will probably not write them down because I am lazy.

I would love to drop a class, but sadly I need them to graduate and there are no other good classes this quarter (they are mostly offered winter or spring). Alas, I am stuck.

Figured out what I am writing about though. Bascially stuff related to the Klamath River Basin and logging. Yep. Now I have to actually write it though.

It's not as interesting as my other paper (one for human sexuality). I basically need to write an autobiographical paper on how I came to my current viewpoints on sex.

I think I'm done helping suicidal people.

I'm sick of people thinking I'm their ******** therapist. It's dangerous, and I don't want to be held responsible for anything.

I'm so selfish. biggrin

I'm never responsible for anything that people do on Gaia, as they never take my advice.

I'm at the point where I just laugh when people come to me with problems. It's terrible. But I don't care anymore.

I wish people would refuse my advice.

I think I have a new found "factual" hate for religion specifically religious politics.

Soleq, you should definitely get the book I'm reading. I think you'd like it. Although, it kind of sucks that I have to do a report on it, school reports make me hate books that I like. Plus, I can't remember specific details, which I'll most likely have to go back and look up. Some of the words are big. Oh well, I look them up, far more than what I used to do.

I don't suppose I could manage to coax you to take it one step further, and instead of laughing when people come to you with problems, you laugh at their problems.
