Immortal said I could join in here and I hope you all don't mind me sticking my nose in. sweatdrop Anyway, here's my profile and I hope I can fit in with this close-knit group.

Username: Oracle of Delphi
Name: Joshta Cierik
Gender: Male
Age: 9
Race: Siren
Appearance: A young boy, unruly ravenblack hair, darkgrey eyes, grey-tinted skin. The epitome of the cute kid; cherub cheeks, slight baby fat, wide, toothy smile. Silver smock and white pants with silver-dyed twine sandals. Carries a floppy black stuffed dog named Shannara with him at all times.
Personality: Gullible, extremely trusting, innocent, lives to please the crew. He hears all that goes on within the Seraphim; whether he comprehends it or not is a toss-up. Sometimes, Joshta merely gets in the way as he tries to help, but he means well and has a heart of gold.
Role on Ship: Cabinboy

The dark waters frothed and foamed amidst the raging storm and the wild winds howled across the seas like a pack of angry wolves. Waves tossed against the Seraphim's hull, battering it with all sorts of debris. Seaweed, driftwood, and dead fish slammed into the ship, but the strangest piece of flotsam wasn't flotsam at all; a small black shape hit the wood with the a sickening thud, rocking with the motion of the water.

Joshta was draped across a large log, his limp little body pliable to Poseidon's will. Water was beginning to pool in his lungs, the unconcious boy hardly fluttering his eyes as he rammed into the Seraphim again or as a large fork of lightning cracked over head. Despite his desperate situation, Joshta still somehow managed to cling to a drenched little toy, the stuffed dog his most prized possession of all.

((I'm up to keeping it alive. We can co-op running this place, mistyjoy.

I'm also sorry for my absence. I ended up in Colorado for five days and was unable to warn you all. Then I got a job... It molested my schedule. But I'm back.))

It'd be wisest if I did, actually. I simply need some time to formulate ideas and such.

Sorry for the long wait.

((Argh! I never even realised how long I'd been away from this thing. Anyone still looking at it, please come back!))

"Yes! These will do very nicely. Greatest thanks to you, wing-sister." Hurriedly, Tanyeera shrank herself to human form but crashed into the chains in her attempt to simply walk towards them. She forced herself to calm down and remember the limitations, and above all, the lightness of human muscles and bone.

Carefully untangling herself, she gently sorted out the chains until she'd found one end of them and began to wind it all over her body. Round one leg, up the torso, cross the shoulders, back down the torso and finish at the other leg's ankle. Standing up, she tested her balance and hesitantly tried walking a few steps.

To her joy, she found she was actually able to do so without careening into her stall's door. The weight of the chains kept her nicely grounded and made her draconic muscles work just that much harder so she no longer had to bounce. It was wonderful. It was...

"Perfect!" she exclaimed, "Wing-sister, I thank you. I thank you from the very bottom of my heart. Quetzacoatl keep you and your kin, may there ever be wind to your wings."

And just as her last thought corssed her mind, anoter jagged bolt of lighting stretched across the sky. The resounding roar of it sounded like the whole ship was breaking in half. When the Seraphim gave a urch and threw her into the railing, she almost thought it had.

Rosette had been out at see with bad storm before. But this one definetely topped her list. She bent down to untangle herself from some debris that'd been shoved off to the side, when another oddy angled dip from the ship caused her to whack her head painfully against the railing.

"Ow! Sonnova ...." She began, her speech drifting off as she saw something with a familiar shape in the water. When the realization came to her, it took all the restraint she ahd to not just leap over the railing and into the water right then and there. She stood up, and with all the air she could suck into her lungs, gave a cry for all the crew to hear before she took the plundge.

"MAN OVERBOARD!"

Rosette wasn't sure what she was thinking, or if she was really thinking at all. Her fingers moved to their own accord, grabbing a rope from those at her ankles and tying one end to the thick railing before wrapping the other end around her waist.

She wanted desperately to use her magics here, but it was unsafe for her, for those on the ship, and even more so for the tiny form floating helplessly in the waves. There was no telling how things could go afoul when nature was raging. But she didn't want to always rely on her magic, she never would have survived this far if she had.

Rosette swung her legs over the railing and dropped into the spray. It was lucky the rope was long enough, it would have been ironic that all her effort was wasted on a rope to short for the job at hand. Problem was it might have been a bitt too long. Rosette safely hit the water without landing on the boy, and had scooped him up into her arms before he fell off the debris he's somehow clung to for so long. But the ship was getting farther and farther away, the rope was still tied to the railing, but it ddn't seem anyone had heard her yell over the noise of the storm. Keeping a tight hold on the tiny boy, Rosette tried pulling herself along and closer to the ship with her free hand and both legs.

Meanwhile, Chrono hadn't even heard Rosette yell over the noise of the storm and crewman speaking to him...

Most of the crew had not even heard Rosette's shout over the noise of the storm, but Tanyeera was a dragon. Furthermore, she was a fully-trained warrior of Clan Mekelentin, her natural instincts trained and honed to the utmost degree.

Her currently human ears attempted to p***k up, but already Tanyeera was heading above board, the chains a reassuring weight that helped her not to bounce. With feral grace, she raced across the water-slick deck to where she thought she'd heard the cry. Her sharp eyes quickly picked out Rosette's floundering form in the water, and from there, she spotted the rope still tied to the railing in fairly short order.

Seizing the rope, she made long effortless pulls, the combined weight of Rosette and the boy being as nothing to her draconic muscles. She simply hoped she hadn't been too late and let those two drown.

The water was so cold it took her breathaway, even when Tanyeera pulled her and the boy out of the water, the biting winds left her trembling and out of breath.

"...T...T-Thank you..." Rosette gasped, still holding the boy tightly to her chest. Since he couldn't have kow just at a glance that the boy wasnt human, but she knew that he was to tired to move, his breath barely chilled her in the least. Rosette starightened up and getsured for Tanyeera to follow her below deck.

"Something's wrong, his breath, I can barely feel it." Rosette said, holding one of her hands near his mouth. The tiniest breath tickled it, letting her know he was still somehow alive.

"C-Could you go to the cooks, ask for something warm to eat and drink for two?" She asked hopefully. Her teeth were still chattering form the cold, "I-I'll take him to my room, he can use my bed for n-now... We need to warm him up before he d-dies..."

"You too need to be warmed, Rosette." Tanyeera pointed out to the mage even as she scrutinised the boy. She didn't remember any human this small being on the crew. "Come, I will escort you to your quarters first. When both of you are under blankets, then I will go see the cooks."

Tanyeera wrapped an arm around Rosette and the boy, unconsciously mimicking a dragon spreading her wings over young hatchlings who had not yet received their fire. Those hatchlings were much more susceptible to cold than older dragons who already harboured Flame. Thus, it would be the responsibility of those dragons to share their warmth with the hatchlings, a warmth that was much greater than that of other creatures.

"T-Thanks again, but I-I'll be fine once I get my hands free." Rosette told her, "I can warm myself. I know some simple stuff that won't be effected by the weather."

Though she wanted to deny it, she had to admit she suddenly felt a lot warmer with Tanyeera around. She drew her own attention back onto the boy.

"He's not a part of the crew, and he's dressed so oddly. How did this kid even get out here in the water?"
