Kurama lowered his gaze then, not wanting to meet the other's eyes. "I'm afraid that... it may take longer than expected for that to happen. It's hard for me to say that I don't have a plan to get out of here... and I'm sure you don't, either."
The kitsune had ideas how to get back to Ningenkai after escaping Kasai's force field, but that one thing was exactly the problem. How could they get through it? Possibly, they could kill the woman, and that probably was the best option, but what if the antidotes weren't real?
On a lighter note... "If you /want/ me to threaten you, I can be very clear. And it would imply more than forcing food down your throat." His voice had a humorous twang, mixed with a little something else.

"Hn," Hiei said, in response to the fox's first statement. It was true. He had no plan. He absolutely had no idea as to how they were going to get out of this mess.
Hearing the slight tease in the other's voice, Hiei smirked. But only for a moment. "Then, Kurama, I guess I'll just starve to death here. If that happens and you fail to return Yukina to normal, I will haunt you."

"Eager to die, are we?" A rhetorical question, of course. But meant to be mildly amusing. "And do you not have faith in me, Hiei? I will, of course, return our family members to their normal ages... that is, if you promise not to haunt me. You see, that might tempt me to leave your sister as she is."
The smirk his earlier comment recieved was a very good sign. It meant his mood was improving, so his presense might be more tolerable.

"You don't return Yukina and I kill your mother."
And though Hiei's mood was softening, he was still very unhappy and quite brattish. Though his statement had come out a bit colder than he had meant to, no move was made to correct or dull the edges of it. He looked at Kurama now. A sigh, a flash and he was back at the branch, holding the bag of food.
Very carefully, eyes seeming large with an oddly cute curiosity, he brought a piece of food to his mouth and bit some off. After a moment he made a face and swallowed. "Any food you'd cook is much better. Even the detective's... ham sandwiches are better than this."
Still, he brought more food to his mouth and gradually broke through the 'I'm-not-eating-a-damn-thing' mindset. The Koorime's stomach seemed to relax.

Night sighed. They were having a boring moment. Oh well. She wandered off into the halls, followed by Carlos.
"Night, Jacque is here. He needs to talk about a fox and a fire demon in the forest..." All was in Spanish, of course, but I translated it to save you time, as well as myself...
Night smiled. Jacque! He would know just what to do!

Green eyes widened as the hi-youkai took his first bite. Him not eating until at least the next day was his expectation, so apparently he was extremely hungry... because Kurama's almost irritating insistance couldn't have possibly had any effect. Hiei was just so stubbornly independent, after all.
Humor aside, an eating fire apparition was certainly a good thing. Maybe his mood would improve... or maybe the kitsune found himself thinking wishfully too much.
The insult to the food was so Hiei-like that he was just waiting for it. Just like his earlier comment about killing Shiori, which was entirely ridiculous, since for them to even be in that situation, Hiei would be too dead to kill anyone.

Even the Jaganshi was surprised at how hungry he really was. Soon there was barely a bite left of his share and he sat back, bringing his wrist across his mouth and licking his lips. He looked at Kurama for a moment, then closed his red eyes as if in thought. What came next was another bit of surprise to him. Hiei had laughed. It was low, barley even a laugh, but a sarcastic sort of chuckle.
"Do you think she would let us back in?"
Of course, the idea was absolutely daft. He had hurt her relatively badly and the idea of going back to the large house and asking to be fed and be allowed a place to sleep again was just... too funny to Hiei.

Kurama didn't articulate a response at first, only blinked once, surprised to a point that trancended words. Hiei laughed. And as if that wasn't enough to give him a heart attack, he followed up by asking if the kitsune thought they could return to their former hostess' mansion. So undoubtedly the food had been poisoned after all... but what with? Anti-depressants?
"I could see her allowing us back... Kasai did bring us here, and made no move to block your sword, seeming to accept her fate," a brief pause, "I am surprised how much you enjoy Yusuke's ham sandwiches, though." He decided to answer his actual question more seriously, not sure what Hiei was expecting. Were he to offend the Koorime, that might bring him back into his 'normal' mood.

Had the second statement Kurama made been left out, Hiei would have had no trouble sharing his thoughts on the psychic. But it had been said, so the Koorime blinked. Then glared, as if he thought Kurama completely tactless for bringing that up. Though Hiei had sort of been asking for it.
"That isn't important, Kurama," he said as straightly as he could, cutting his eyes to the side and tightening his jaw, not wanting to talk anymore. So, as he normally would in this kind of situation, he turned away from the fox with his arms crossing his chest. After a few minutes, however, whatever feeling he had swallowed before seemed to shoot back up his throat.
"I didn't want to eat it; I only did so the fool wouldn't get a piece and maybe starve to death," he spat, whipping back to face Kurama at an angle, but not looking at him. And of course, 'the fool' always referred to Kuwabara.

Night went to the dark room that she kept for the purpose of meeting Jacque. He was a psyco, blood-thirst, sun-hating, womanizing vampire, after all.
"There are two new demons in my forest, Night." A deep voice said, as soon as the door behind her was shut.
"Oh, I'm fine, Jacque, thank you. My day was just dandy. How was yours, dear?"
"I have no time for trifles such as small talk, Runt." The voice snapped. It softened considerably, "I wish to speak to Kasai, or is she dead?"
"She's fine! What would make you think she was dead?"
"The demons I want to talk to her about, one smelled of her blood. A stomach wound, I believe."
"You know, that's really creepy how you can-"
"Tell where the blood comes from by it's scent?"
"Yeah, and how you-"
"Finish your sentences?"
This was getting on Nights nerves. "Stop it, Albino, or I'll give you a nice meeting with my good friend the sun."
"I do not fear the sun. I simply prefer it not to be out at the same time as I. Now go, be a good girl, and get Kasai."
Night grumbled and left. She hated that stupid, hurtful, rude, sexy vampire freak. She had a crush on him, which didn't help. Ah well...
(I thought I'd put a bit of side bit in there. It won't interfere. ^_^)

Kasai met the female in the hallway, having been able to sense her fairly well, now that she had rested. Her breath was oddly scented, making it quite apparent that she had been spending her time trying to heal quickly, rather than by rest. If she rested, without helping it along, she'd heal like a human. At least the pain didn't bother her.
"Night, you wish to have me speak with your garlic-fearing boyfriend, yes? Very well, then. Just please keep him at least ten feet away from my neck, this time."
Without waiting for a response, she kept on towards the vampire. If the girl wanted to speak, she would follow. If not, she would sick another one of her pets on the little Koorime. How predictable.
Or would she do both...?

Trying to hold in a chuckle, Kurama responded, "Would you please pass the denial stage? I know you'd never kill Kuwabara.... in fact, I think you love him!"
This was completely random on so many levels, but why not lighten the mood further? Certainly it was not a serious comment, with very obvious reasoning, but the look on the fire apparition's face would make it worthwhile. Teasing him was an important part of a balanced breakf-- ...wait.
The response he got was deserved, really. How could not eating one small meal kill?

Hiei could only glare. How dare Kurama even suggest the idea, even if he was toying with him. "Kurama," he growled, a warning. Though there wasn't much in the threat. The most Hiei would do is stop talking to the fox for a bit, now that his mood had improved. Still, his mind raced with retorts.
"What about you and Yusuke? You seemed to like it when he had those drinks on his birthday and was laughing with his head on your lap," he said, narrowing his eyes as if in digust. Really, he didn't understand what Yusuke or other ningens loved so much about alcoholic drinks. Especially the one the detective favored—beer.
"Idiot."
((Sorry for all the Yusuke inserts. xD I just love him.))

((Oh, they don't bother me at all. Yusuke's been growing on me alot lately.))
Oh, Hiei would pay for that one. If the fox remembered correctly, and he normally did, the other had promised to not bring that up again. So the mere mention of it deserved revenge.
"You know very well that I was also drunk, my human persona hardly having any tolerance... I believe I thought it was you in my lap, Hiei." The tip of his mouth curved slightly into a smirk. It was honestly a lie, since Kurama was not fond of alcohol, but the Koorime wouldn't know that. He didn't pay that much attention, now did he?
The kitsune's response had been laced with a hint of his Youko self, the most evident part of that being that he was so bold. It wasn't as common for him to tease him in that manner, even if he did think that way.

If Hiei's glare could kill, it certainly would have. He simply stared, narrow-eyed and scowling, at Kurama for what seemed to be the longest time. Sure, he had promised not to bring that up. But the fox was twiddling him around and that was something Hiei did not appreciate. Ever.
"You would," he snarled in response, eyebrow ticking in annoyance. Usually Hiei respected certain things about Kurama, especially maybe things he'd been through. But he couldn't stop himself today.
"Tell me, Kurama. How did Karasu's hands feel along your ningen neck?"
