Does the world of HD have AI or atleast robots?
Totally wasn't expecting that question. =D It must be time to pull something out of my hat at random!
No robots, at least not in the capacity you mean. Some of the higher class noble families have small robots in their homes that do the daily chores, much akin to things like the Robo Rooter in today's society, but since most noble families employ servants, robots haven't really found much of a use in homes. Industrial robots are pretty much like they are today--just big mechanical arms, presses, welding torches, etc. Aside from a few that are being tested and constructed in privately owned labratories, robots don't look like humans and they don't really exist. The Freedom Movement would probably be greatly in support of any kind of technology that would replace human workers, since they're all about freeing the lower classes from what has basically turned into slavery.
AI, on the other hand, has a bit more presence. Currently though AI is restricted to large computers, usually in a research or government facility. The organization of Chrest, for example, would probably have a large room dedicated to nothing but computing and security technology, all run by the AI. Sort of like a super computer, only with a cool voice and a limited ability to think for itself. Un-funded organizations, like Isis, would probably have a stolen or privately constructed AI unit, which wouldn't have near the processing power of one owned by an organization like Chrest or AGSA.
Does that answer your question? ^_^
Yup, I'm back. =) What's a gymnite?
EDIT: Ah, never mind. *grin*
