Erin Sovenya lady_marine_17 Carlotta took the letter out of her bag and brandished it at Raoul. How did he dare threaten her as such? No dancing chorus girl could take Carlotta's place as Prima Donna of the Opera Populaire! "I have your letter - a letter which I rather resent!" Startled, Raoul took the letter out of the Prima donna's hand. "Letter? What letter?" "You didn't send it?" Carlotta demanded when Raoul nodded she continued."You dare to tell me, that this is not the letter you sent ? !" Carlotta burst out in rage...

Raoul demanded, taking the letter out of its envelope. In childish, red letters, he read: Your days at the Opera Populaire are numbered. Christine Daae will be singing on your behalf tonight. Be prepared for a great misfortune should you attempt to take her place.Believe me, Senora, I did not write this. I came ot the Opera house about a similar letter I received.

Madame Giry stepped out from where she was standing.
"I have a letter from the opera ghost to all of you, if youd have the patience to wait a moment before you all blew up in a frenzy of frustration."
She snatched the letter from Andre and Firmin's hands and handed it to Raoul. She figured that it would be safer with him. La Carlotta might have torn it up. After she handed it to him she stood back, a slightly amused look on her face, waiting to see what their reaction would be.

Carlotta looked distrustfully at Madame Giry. She had never like the ballet teacher. She was always the one to bring the strange notes to the previous owner. Always the one on about the famous Opera Ghost. Then she looked at the letter Raoul was holding in his hands. But she didn't like this new patron either...he was such a fop and also so amazed by this Christine Daae like everyone...

Raoul paled at the mention of another letter. What would this one demand? This "ghost" was following his love; had kidnapped her! He gripped the letters in his hand tightly. "And Christine, Madame? Has she been found?"

"Its in the letter monsiuer. If you want to read it and find out go right ahead. The managers and I read it before you came in."
She motioned to the letter she had stuffed into his hand.

Erik's eyes fluttered open. What happened? One minute he was sitting at his organ, then the next...what time was it? Ah, it was the afternoon still...well..the late afternoon. Suddenly, the Opera Ghost realized that he sent out his letters not too long ago. In fact, he had only been asleep for about a half an hour. Surely his managers and the others were throwing fits about his requests. Erik soon came to realize that his suspicions were right when Carlotta began screeching about some letter. A devilishly devious grin curled in the corner of Erik's lips, "I should like to watch this fiasco..." He said quietly to himself. Not another word needed to be said. It seemed like a blink of an eye but when Erik finally, and fully, comprehended his position in the Opera House, he was already above the group of bickering employees. His presence would go unnoticed, since he was hidden in the ceiling's rafters. The Phantom peered an icy blue eye through a franc sized hole. Amusement shot through him as he watched the young patron become rather flustered, Carlotta unable to win a battle, and the managers acting as if thier heads had been lopped off like chickens. It was truely a humorous sight, and he'd laugh at it if he could.

Raoul fumbled with the letter for a moment before opening and reading it. He paled even more, and worry and relief both showed clearly on his face. Wordlessly, he handed it to Carlotta. "I do not believe you've read it yet, madame," he added rather stiffly. he took a rather nervous step away from the dramatizing Carlotta, certain that her reaction was going to be spectacular- if rather unpleassant.

Madame Giry grew impatient of them all and took the letter back. She opened it slowly and read the phantom's signature red print aloud:
Gentlemen, "I have now sent you several notes of the most amiable nature, detailing how my theatre is to be run. You have not followed my instructions. I shall give you one last chance . . . Christine Daae has returned to you, and I am anxious her career should progress. In the new production of "Il Muto", you will therefore cast Carlotta as the Pageboy, and put Miss Daae in the role of Countess. The role which Miss Daae plays calls for charm and appeal. The role of the Pageboy is silent - which makes my casting, in a word ideal. I shall watch the performance from my normal seat in Box Five, which will be kept empty for me. Should these commands be ignored, a disaster beyond your imagination will occur. I remain, Gentlemen, Your obedient servant, O.G."
She stood back with a smug look on her face after seeing the infuriated look on Carlotta.
((BTW to those who have no clue whats going on, the lyrics to all the songs are here. http://www.seeklyrics.com/lyrics/Phantom-Of-The-Opera/Notes-I.html I know we dont stay to the script perfectly, but if its allright I would like to have it lean more twards that way, it would save a world of craziness))

Erik could hear his voice echoing through his head as the familiar words carried about in the large enterance hall. A smug smile crossed the Phantom's face as frustration and outrage oras filled the room. "What fools." He muttered to himself. That's just what they were too. Incolent fools; slaves of fashion. If they were to refuse him, then they would suffer accordingly...

"Christine? It all a ploy to help CHRISTINE?" Carlotta burst out. She rudely snatched the letter from Madame Giry's fingers and waved it at the managers and patron. "I know who sent this! The Vicomte her lover!" She adjusted her hat and stormed down the grand staircase...

"I know who sent this! The Vicomte her lover!" She adjusted her hat and stormed down the grand staircase... "Indeed? Can you believe this?" He said to no one in particular, glaring at Carlotta. Her lover...he wished! But Christine was far to innocent for that. Philippe never had any problems getting a dancer. A pout formed on Raoul's face as the prima donna swept past him, still shrilling denouncing Christine and the Opera.

The managers looks between eachother in distaste. There was far too much drama circulating around Miss Daae. Andre looked puffed his chest and with a startling booming echo his voice rang throughout the ballroom. "Far too many notes for my taste! And most of them about Christine!" Firmin nodded his head solemnly and agreed. He put a hand across his chin and stroked the stubble that was beginning to form again. "All we've heard since we came is Miss Daae's name..."
