Mie-tanuki He shrugged. "It's not your fault... These aren't even my clothes. I was passing and a guard invited me... I didn't have time to tell him I was male before he gave me... this..." HE gestured down at the flowing blue ball gown. He smiled appologetically. "Sorry for not telling you before... it's... embarrassing..." He flushed even deeper when the other spoke. "I - yes..." he said, trying to meet the other's eyes, but feeling rather silly. "But here... at least it's bright... I need light... I can't live in the dark," he said truthfully. After all, no rose could live without the sun. "Well then," he said stepping infront of the man who tried to make him dance in the first place. "Male or not, you still look stunning." He paused then held out his hand with a smile. "May I have this dance?" A Charming white smile lit up the area around his face. "I'm sure my outfit will not desatisfy you when it comes to light."

"Thank you." He smiled. "Of course." He coursty-bowed again and then took the other's hand in his own, taking his dress in his other hand, waiting for the prince's hand to take it's place at his waiste. The music was simple enough - a delicate waltz. He kept his eyes fixed on the prince's, his long rosy-pink hair swaying in time with his skirts.

Slowly Corbin brought his large masculine, yet refined hand to Rosaline's waist, and began to step in time. He was very fond of the fine arts, so he had been trained well in dancing. This was one of his forte's. "So, Rosaline, tell me all about yourself..." He brought himself a little closer to the man, watching the light reflect off of his beautiful pink locks.

That was it? Sayael so easily told the Prince of Death their plans? Especially since they were only moments ago arguing. It seemed to him that Sayael had to fight with someone before actually talking to him, as it has been done to himself. There was little that could be done now. If the got out, they got out. If they didn't, well.. He'd be kept locked away from any scheming princes for a long time. As his eyes drifted, they fell upon one left silent in the distance. Oh, yes! Jullian's injury had been left still unattended.
Without trying to look overly sneaky, Dax slipped away from the conversing princes to approach the lone man. "Jillian.. If you'd like, I could have a medic look over your hand," he offered. "If you continue to uphold this 'tough man' act, you might lose the limb completely."

He watched as the Ice Prince came towards him. Jillian sighed and smiled. "Thank you... yes, I suppose that would be best... I'm rather fond of having both hands..." He stood up carefully and then bowed, feeling it would be best to keep up polite formality because of the priar argument.

Rosaline shrugged deliactely without interupting the flow of the dance. "There's not much to tell... I live alone - for the most part - in the Kingdom of Death, where I was born..." He smiled a little hesitantly, unsure of what to say. What could he say - that he was a rose? For one thing, he doubted the other would beleive him.... and if he found out, would he be disapointed that no matter how tangible Rosaline was, he was no real?

At least he was receiving decent manners from one of the three, but Dax was left still curious. "How exactly did you attain that injury in the first place?" he had to ask. "Surely you hadn't arrived to the party in that state." He figured the only place to actually get frostbite so severe was in his own kingdom.

Casting ever watchful eyes to the side, Haar smiled faintly to himself. It was nice to see everyone... everyone seeming to get along for the most part. Turning his red gaze towards a group of supposedly dignified young ladies, who were acting much less than their looks would expect by teasing a young squire, who was obviously from a different land (although he wasn't exactly sure where from with his costume), until he was bright red and swatting at them with a decorative wooden sword. Upon hearing the girls' uproarious screams and laughs, Haar shook his head, averting his bright gaze to scan the crowd. With a stiff frown, the dark haired officer turned, looking for his own apprentice that had instisted on coming, where had that boy gone to now?
He had been informed that there wouldn't be many fire nobility coming to the palace...but of all the people to send why a commander instead of an obscure royal? Was the kingdom really trying to give off an ominous vibe? Or was this some sort of twisted joke that all promoted officers had to go through? ...He doubted that, but Haar sure felt shunned by his own country at that moment. One gloved hand brushing lightly against his ever present sword strapped to his waist, the brown haired officer busied his thoughts on the young children once more. The girls had seemed to stop picking on him and taken up trying to show him how to dance like the civilized knight he would be someday. Leaning against a highly decorated wall, the young man was so caught up in his mind that he barely registered the small tugging at his black dress shirt.
"Shay?"
Snapping out of his daze, Haar looked down with a look of disapproval, eyes softening slightly at his flushed apprentice who looked simply stunning in his new outfit that matched his oddly blue eyes. Some cousin of the royal family had made for him. She did a good job. "Erm...S-sir? I'm gonna be over there, okay?" Peyton pointed over towards the table full of an assortment of pastries and the like. Sighing, Haar nudged the boy towards it, murmuring for him to be careful and to not lose sight of him, "I don't want to leave you behind," he said with a careful grin.
Returning to his earlier posture and thoughts the young commander mused to himself...
...this was nice.

Faryn's dark pools followed Dax's form a short ways until it disappeared around the corner. He looked back up intriguingly at Sayael. "Just one last inquiry. Who's your 'friend'? Is he a good ship captain or just a fisherman?" he asked before adding confidently, "I already swore I wouldn't utter a word, you know."

Sayael smiled. "I do beleive you should have heard his name occasionally - Haeri, occasionally called the 'Prince of Ships.'" Haeri was, in fact, quite the famous boat maker. His boats were elegant, finely built, sturdy, you name it.

Jillian smiled appologetically. "I'm sorry, but that information must stay a matter of confedence. I'm currently serving escort to one who is not too fond of despelling any information relating to himself, despite his own curiosity."

That definitely left a harsh dent in his own remaining curiosity. However, Jillian was a trusted diplomat among every kingdom, and he had been told time and time again when he was younger to allow the man to do his business as he pleased unhindered. "Very well," he submitted to unknowing.. for now, at least. "But Sayael and Faryn seem rather wrapped up in their.. discussion as of now. I shouldn't hold you here any longer, though. They can continue without us while I find you a doctor." Dax extended an arm to gesture Jillian forward first back to the palace.

He smiled, greatful that the other had allowed him to keep his secrets. After all, how could he explain he had assisted in theivery? They would figure it out later - most likely - but if Faryn stayed true to his words, as Jillian knew he would, they would think they had been more than repayed in a number of precious, although nonmagical, jewels. He followed the prince quietly, feeling quite glad to return to the warmth of the palace, even if the noise was less welcome.

[For Tato with heart ] Alti was also leaning against the wall, although he was not enjoying the party nearly as much as the man from the Fire Kingdom was. He hated parties just as he hated all useless things. He scowled and sipped at his glass, pulling a face. It wasn't even the drink he liked - what trash did they serve in this kingdom?! His orange eyes fixed onto a long scar running down the length of his hand and he smiled bitterly, raising his hand slightly so he could look at it rather than the stupid dancers.

Dax initial plan was to walk directly through the party, continue through, and head to their best doctor's quarters. His footfalls halted, however, only steps near the main ballroom. "I almost forgot!" he exclaimed, quickly turning on his heel. "Sayael had placed a distraction up in the party so he and I could leave. If I began to waltz right in, I'd have ruined it completely." He turned a new corner, planning to evade the crowd. "No matter. With every arising problem comes a new solution."

The young apprentice brushed back strawberry blonde locks to make sure he still looked decent enough... he had been running around looking for things to do for the past hour or so... and for some reason he was prone to mussing his clothes up. Thankfully they were still as good as new and just as charming as Sh-... as Haar said they were! He didn't know why he had begged and pleaded with the young commander all yesterday to let him come...Shay had been right, this was boring and there weren't many people here his age. There was good food though! His master was always saying he was too skinny, so he might as well eat up.
With a bright smile lighting his youthful face, Peyton grabbed every sweet food he could carry and shuffled back over to the only familar face at the entire ball. "Shay- " He couldn't quite get his attention, he was dazed out again...or so the young boy figured, and...and he was staring at something... Blue eyes following the older man's red gaze, the boy frowned heavily, shooting a glare at both men. Dumb scowly, sissy man! [Alti] Peyton hated when Haar did things like this. Always...always...looking at ...at other people and not paying attention to him!
"Shay!" Kicking the young man in the leg, Peyton pouted. "Are you deaf?" He asked as sweetly as he could, staring up at a frown with a purely innocent expression while holding out a sugar covered cookie. "You want one?" He asked with a smile, blue eyes lowering.
Red eyes widened as he was knocked back, once more, into reality. Frowning while he bent down to rub his now very sore shin, Haar stuck his face close to the boy's, watching with a hint of amusement as Peyton's cheeks reddened to a nice pink shade. "Eh, did you bring any chocolate kind?" He murmured, straightening back up with a lopsided grin. Haar had known for quite some time that Peyton had some sort of boyish admiration for him, it was obvious to say the least. He wasn't sure when that admiration had taken a turn for the worse though... One moment Peyton was that eight year old orphan he had picked up and now he was already fifteen and able to beat him on a bad day. Where did the time go?
The blue eyed boy looked almost insulted as he pulled out a large sized chocolate treat, handing it to the older male with a look that Haar didn't know what to make of. "Thank you," he murmured, pushing the boy to his side who frowned at being shoved aside again.

[[Tato! ... wow. I<3it. Peyton's so cute, by the way whee ]]
"I've heard of him. He's got a dock down in Ganduil, doesn't he? I've seen some of his ships sail from the Bay," he continued. This was beginning to sound like something worth his interest. How curious-- Ganduil was a very busy port, close to the border between the Kingdom of Storms and that of Death. In fact, so close that fishing villages of the Kingdom of Death fed into the same Bay near this port. Nonsense. He wasn't going. It didn't make that big of a difference anyway. Faryn didn't divert his gaze from Sayael's form, however. He waited for an answer.
