It's just taken us forever to get her started doing it because she could have started it in high school but you know how some teachers & counselors are....they told her that she'd fail and wouldn't make $ doing what she loves to do so they killed her confidence in herself even though she's extremely talented at what she does. Supposed to encourage not put them down. Glad she is finally doing what she loves. Agreed but that wasn't what happened so it has taken us a lot of time to get her through all of that. Thanks! heart Glad I did not work there. Lovely to see your daughter happy again. You have done a wonderful job. You definitely wouldn't have been happy at any of her schools. We had to argue with them constantly. We actually had a 1st year teacher tell us that she thought that our daughter was ADD or ADHD because she didn't know how to deal with a kid with a genius I.Q. lol Much thanks. heart How ridiculous. Should have challenged her more. They wanted her to stay behind with the other kids. The schools around here were/are part of that whole no child left behind so they didn't want any of the kids that were/are ahead to be too far ahead of the kids that weren't/aren't. Not to mention, the newer teachers can only teach from the books and if the books don't show them how to do something then they can't teach it. The older teachers aren't permitted to allow the kids to do it how they can figure it out or show them a different way than how the book says to do it. It's odd to me.

I am a believer that whatever way works for them is good. So many different ways to do things but some prefer one method to another and should be encouraged to whatever suits them otherwise their self esteem falls and lack confidence.
