The Uchiha gave a chef's kiss at the sarcastic mention of boot licking. He liked this one. "Nah, my mom made me." He said before holding up his hand like it was inside a sock puppet. Something that even the seasoned people that knew him would occasionally find a bit awkward before resting on the girls shoulder and giving her a 'proud dad' look. "You've grown Shio-nee. As I recall since risking your life for my sake on Endaishima. The path which leads to less casualties is the path best taken after all bloop. Even if it means losing a comrade in the process. Lives are not meant to be traded and no one life is worth more than another. bloop. bloobloobloo. Still any regrets for what you did then?" Toso laughed toward the end of his philsosquid sayings as if he already knew the answer.
While she gave her answer he'd defer to Hiroki for the moment. "I see. Parents can certainly be quite harsh at times but they simply want what's best for you." Toso was actually surprised by what seemed to be a full lack of passion from the boy. He was essentially the equivalent of a college layabout only attending college because they were told to. A clear lack of direction in one's self and life goals, seeing as if he did have those goals he'd have more than likely pursued them instead. As a Kage, someone who was basically equivocal to a career counselor in this militant society Hiroki was the bane of existence because he had nothing and no aspirations to work off of.
He'd look to Shion then to Hiroki back to Shion then Hiroki, then thought. Their attitudes seemed quite the same yet here Shion was a member of Core...he also seemed to respond well to her commentary. "Hmm. If Miss Maeko left your side before you arrived at the dojo it means you musn't have had the chance then. bloop." back to Shion. "Shio-nee I know you've had quite the day but if you've not much else would it be not all that troublesome to take Mr.Hiroki here under your wing for a time. Perhaps incite a spark in him yes? He'd lean over to the side to look over Shion's shoulder. "If that's quite fine with you Mr.Hiroki seems more exciting than sleeping in a closet no doubt." Toso would say whilst also thinking perhaps he should put a lock on the closet if this kid really sought it a fit place to sleep and loiter. Truth be told the question in the back of his head was. Why the closet? If Toso could put one and one together it seemed that Hiroki by this logic hated being home and to a greater degree likely hated being home with his mother who apparently 'forced' him into this position.

SHIONxxxxxMORI Shion awkwardly gave Toso's hand a side-eyed glance as it plopped down to rest on her shoulder. He knew how she felt about physical contact... and not just from him. Still, she'd fight back the urge to turn the squid into a fine paste and instead simply peeled his hand from her shoulder. "Not really. I had a responsibility to get my team out safely and did what I felt I had to. Speaking of..." she'd trail off, shifting her lazy gaze to meet Hiroki. "Should'nt one of the Jounin take him? Isn't that their job or whatever?" She really had no issues taking on a student, but certainly Toso couldn't have thought she'd be the best candidate... could he?
"You put me with the cop and I'm leaving."Hiroki said casually. On the whole, this proposal seemed like far less trouble on his part than continuing to beat his head against the wall. Besides, being a jackboot wasn't his bag. Just didn't like boots much, honestly, or cops, but it was mostly the boots bit. His eyes followed the strange arm as it stretched around. Hopefully he'd never have to experience that particular horror himself. Toso might have achieved Hiroki's continued absence from the office just on that alone. Probably not, he was at heart a troublemaker even if he also had an urge to avoid things that were a drag, but the thought had at least been planted in his skull now. If he'd know the psychoanalysis rolling around in the squid's brain, he would have gladly volunteered to never sleep in the closet again.
Toso would recoil his arm and then suddenly raise both his arms in the scale like position of 'oh well' before shaking his head back and forth. "Ah, bloop well it seems to Mr.Hiroki you're just another cop Shio-nee." He'd say blanketly stating. Truly though this was a ploy to have Shion challenge the perception that she was not just another blue suit wearing, badge flashing, by the book type. Of course if Hiroki meant Kenshin he was above Jonin if that was who he was referring to. "I see bloop, if that's how you feel Shio-nee I really shouldn't expect you to take things outside your criterion so suddenly bloop. Quite unfortunate really bloop. I did choose you because I believed you the type who'd feel more than ready for the responsibilities most Jounin are imparted bloop. Perhaps at this point ready for that promotion bloop." Toso's face took an almost dower type of look to it. While this string of collective words was manipulative Toso was being outright genuine in believing this is how Shion seemingly felt, moreover he carried an aura of innocent belief. "But if that is how you feel..."
Toso would then stand up and move towards a cabinet that had rank and file of the village Jounin opening it and browsing it in a childlike manner of 'hmmmms' and 'hrmmms'. "Perhaps, Sakuya ...hmmm he's out gathering intel bloop...Takato?.."

Kaito ran to the office, nearly colliding with a woman with braided hair. He caught only the tail end of the conversation, telling her to go into the room since the kage appeared to be in. "Ah, awesome!" He said breathily, glad to have caught the kage in his office.
His eagerness betrayed him as he scurried ahead to the door, then remembered the woman behind him. He relented and, even though the door was already mostly open, he held it for her to show some semblance of manners. Then he turned to the kage.
