Evren - Metal Stake + 1
Pushed along in the maze Evren was soon faced to face with one of the eight-legged creatures that they were all running from. Gritting her teeth she quickly moved only for the creature to spit on the side of her dress burning a hole in it. Well, she was going to have to remake this outfit… again. She did her best to keep dodging the attacks but with her heels, she tripped and wound up underneath the creature with one of its sharp legs going through her own. “Guh…”
Gripping her stake she had picked up she used it to slice through the leg that had skewered her and slip out from underneath it. Hobbling away she reached down and pulled it out while she kept on walking. Pain and blood rushing with every step she took.

Mahogany Shapour -- The Phantom of the OperaMahogany didn't like to be shown up. And he was also secretly convinced that the brothers didn't grab him a stake on purpose to keep him at a disadvantage. Why? To keep him reliant on them? If there was one thing Mahogany Shapour was not, it was reliant on anyone. They forged a path ahead of him and left nothing but dust and confusion for him. But Mahogany Shapour was not one to be outdone. Without a weapon and without a plan, be barreled ahead of the brothers and took on his own giant beast. The thing was larger than him by a wide margin and meaner by an even wider one. It reared up on its back two legs as soon as it caught sight of Mahogany, but by that time the young man was already swinging. Granted it was with zero control and zero precision, but by what seemed like the grace of luck, he managed to strike in all the right places. Legs snapped be neath his legs, eyes popped under his fingers, and the monster screamed in rage and pain during the whole ordeal. Gisela Louise -- Lazy ZombieWhen the giant spider landed before them, Gisela let out a scream of horror that would have rung out across the maze. She huddled behind Derrick as he fought, certain that it would make quick work of him and then begin tearing her apart as well. The unfortunate thing was that since the whole maze could hear her screaming, so too could a previously unoccupied spider looking for a victim. It landed on the ground behind her, obviously dazed from its impact with the ground. Gisela didn't waste a single second of this precious time. She hadn't been taught how to fight yet, but that didn't mean that she wasn't willing to try. She used the only weapons that she had available to her at the time, her body joints and fists, to send the spider scurrying back over the hedge. "Ha," she laughed, triumph finally overtaking the fear in her voice, "did you see that?"

Arian Laith - dressed in jeans, polo neck and a sweater Saffron Laith - dressed as a witch - metal stake (+1)Arian had followed after Anxo as his boyfriend followed after his cousin in making a dash for the maze entrance and did his best not to think on just how close it had been back there with the spider. It seemed that the rest of the crowd had had the same idea about the maze too and Arian had found himself jostled a few times as well as being bumped by a few elbows, but being short had helped some and the spiders were great for focusing the mind which meant that he had managed to make it into the maze without too much trouble. Gigi had made it in shortly afterwards and he had managed to give his curly-haired friend a wan smile and a nod. He was about to suggest that they press further inwards when a spider clambered over the hedge and lunged towards his cousin– And Arian found himself moving before he was completely aware of it as he placed himself squarely between Saffron and the spider. He gave a pained hiss as it bit him, adrenaline having him ball his right hand into a fist before swinging out at the thing. He managed to land a hit on one of the legs, the spider suddenly rearing back - although that probably had more to do with his cousin jabbing at it with the stake in her hands than his own actions. ((will finish backfilling after Poods edits)) ======================================= Briar Mackenzie - dressed as a vampire hunter Fortunately he and Kirra had both managed to make it to the maze without too much trouble, although there had been a point when one of the giant spiders had come dangerously close to Kirra.
Briar had tried to find something to try and distract the thing, because there was no way that he was going to let the spider get her - not on his watch - but then had found himself having to jump out of the way as a second spider had come charging in his direction.
It had kept running however, something - or maybe someone - catching its attention, which had given him time to hightail it after Kirra.
Any thoughts of trying to see if the older teenager he'd spotted had really been Peter had died as a spider clambered over one of the hedges making up the wall of the maze and dropped down in front of them.
It reared, some of its legs coming dangerously close to Kirra as Briar fumbled around trying to find something to use on it, his hands closing on one of the small pumpkin decorations that someone had used to decorate the maze before hefting it and using it to hit out at one of the spider's legs.

You can attack first, but be wary of the spider’s long legs; it will attempt to swipe at you or skewer you with its strangely pointed limbs. It may attempt to spit at you—so watch out! Any of the frothy foam that comes in contact with your clothes may burn it, though any that comes in contact with your skin will simply become agitated and will heal shortly after the RP ends. The shouting turned to pained cries and it was enough to goad Trey into action, pushing away the fear that tried to freeze him in place. He dodged another spider as he rushed back, keeping his eyes firmly on the young man on the ground and the monster attacking him.

Basil Whybourne
In his attempts at both keeping his balance and not getting away from the spiders, Basil's leg caught in some the webbing. It seemed as though the sticky white substance had trapped Lysander as well and the pair of them tripped forward, staggering, Basil's feet slipping out from under him.
He landed harder against Lysander than he'd intended, Basil letting out a small grunt of annoyance and surprise. His hands had moved automatically to brace himself - or to stop himself, though that had clearly failed - and now one arm was bent between their chests, the other hand grappling for a handhold in the maze wall.
He glanced up at Lysander, looking a little concerned.
"Sorry," said Basil, with a touch of breathlessness, chest rising and falling. "Are you all right?"
Something rustled above their heads; Basil glanced up just in time to see a large, black, hairy spider scuttle downwards, many legs twisting and flailing. For a second, it didn't seem to notice them - but then it spun around, pincers snapping, and something hot and wet sizzled across Basil's leg.
He let out a sharp cry of surprise and staggered, kicking out.

He didn't really mind the silent treatment. It was what it was, and if that was how Lovely played, then that was how Seth was going to treat him. He wasn't anything more than a blip on the radar, anyway; what mattered was his general's opinion, not his general's subordinate's opinion.
He gave the spiders are vastly disinterested look, Seth idly brushing a few strands of hair out of his eyes.
"Vould it be wrong if I asked one to eat the stupid ones here?" he asked Ilian sweetly, voice positively dripping with nothing more than pure saccharine delight (or not). He gave Lovely a fluttery sort of look before he lashed out, aiming a kick at the nearest spider.
"I'm going to ruin boots. It's a shame."
One of the spiders had gotten ahold of his arm. Seth saw the sleeve of his sweater starting to fray, burn away, a sizzle of fabric, and he yanked himself free, letting out a swear in Russian that was, nonetheless, accompanied by a careless laugh.
"These things are fun, aren't they?"

Giulia, as it turned out, was far braver than Nathaniel had given her credit for. To be entirely fair, she had seemed the sort of little girl who knew what she wanted and what to say, but it was always sort of a surprise when children stepped up to bat and came out swinging with everything they had.
Her hand was trembling, but that was okay. Nathaniel gave her an approving nod, a low whistle escaping.
"That was some mighty fine kickin' there, princess," he said, and tried to sidestep the next spider, stumbling a little over its many legs. "I reckon you migh' be the one t'protect me 'stead of the other way 'round."

Well, she had a point there. Steele couldn't quite argue that fact.
He followed Shikora into the maze, little though he actually wanted to. This was not his area of expertise; he couldn't exactly schmooze his way out of a maze full of gigantic spiders that seemed intent on eating them all, and really, that wasn't how he had wanted to spend his evening.
And he definitely was not going to spend it helping anyone, because if there was anyone that Steele was going to help, it was himself. There was, to be fair, nothing more precious and important than his own self, and that was okay because self care was important.
Steele caught a glimpse of many legs tumbling towards him and let out an entirely unmanning yelp of fear, stumbling back so fast that he tripped over his own two feet and almost fell over, crashing into one of the hedges. He swung uselessly at the spider - Shikora was just a ways away, red blossoming, and that was a little sickening too.
This whole night was sickening.
"Well - damn - " Steele said pitifully. "This is not how I wanted this to go!"

Archer Wren - stake acquired
He was going to throttle Lauri. He was going to take that damned leash, loop it around his neck, tighten it, and slowly watch the air leak from his lungs until he was completely and utterly still, and then he'd be satisfied. It was a strong enough urge that Archer's fingers twitched - but the arrogant, commanding call from Lauri was enough to overcome that.
He hated that too, almost as much as he hated Lauri, and the inevitable reaction it produced.
They were in public. This was not their agreement.
Archer let out a hiss as he stalked towards the other, teeth grinding together with a mixture of fury and frustration that mingled with all the other emotions he couldn't tamp down on. A hand reached up and seized in Lauri's hair, tangling in the dark strands as Archer looked at him, a flush to his cheeks.
"a*****e," he snarled, and let go. "That's not for here, idiot."
Unless there was a darkened corner somewhere, and in the middle of a spider infested maze was not the time.

Katrina Halloran She'd had enough. This was absolutely bonkers and the idea of traipsing through a maze filled with oversized spiders was just foolish. Why no one had thought of lighting the entire maze on fire and watching it burn was beyond her... Awful idea. Maze catches on fire, web catches on fire, everyone burns. The small pack that they'd been herded along with had thinned, fewer people surrounding them now than there had been initially. If a few more dropped off they might be able to find a secluded corner to power up in. If... Her thoughts were interrupted as a spider dropped down in front of them. It went for Kian as he tried to defend her, giving her a moment to slip out of her stilettos, shifting them into her hands to brandish them like weapons. All of the hand to hand training that she'd done with Wolfeite paid off in more ways than just her experience with the Negaverse-- she might not have her powered strength or speed, but she still knew how to fight. "To hell with all of these ******** things." Kuropeco For mention. Recognize those skillz, Archer? Syrie Come play with us, handsome.

GenevieveWhile running through the maze, looking over to her companion, Genevieve nodded her head. "Let's hope we find them soon. I really don't like this." Not one bit, and there was no reason to like it. This was not just dangerous but deadly. She didn't need anything happening to her parents, and Jada might be eternal but this was still a small area with big spiders that were dangerous.
While Christa attacked with the metal spike she had found, she really wished she had been able to get her hands on one, Genevieve was left trying to get in close and strike with a pointed heel. She really should have been watching the spiders legs, which she wasn't, as one leg swept her own legs out from under her and landed the dressed up girl onto her a**. Growling she threw a heel at it, yes she did grown cause did that spider have any idea how expensive her costume was?!
Climbing onto her feet she was glad to notice it had been dealt with. "Come on, we have to find other others." And she was sure she had just heard her mother. "I think I heard my mother." Which meant, hopefully anyway, that her father was nearby as well.Lucifer Force They can find her parents at the end, for the closing post.
